  1. Nerves are normal, it would be odd if we didn't have them at all. I feel it's also excitement that it's really going to happen, that we are on the journey to a healthier life. It's all good !!
  2. There will be some who say don't have it and some who say they have it every day without any issue, same as straws. Whatever works for you. Are you really desperate for gum?
  3. Welcome !! this is quite a good site to look at http://www.bariatriccookery.com. Hope this helps
  4. Congratulations and best wishes for a smooth surgery and speedy recovery. Make sure you let us know how you are feeling afterwards. ????
  5. @@sallydswanson Hiya Sally, That day it was: Breakfast : Optimun nutrition chocolate shake 120 calories Mid morning: Syntrax Nector 100 calories Lunch: Optimun nutrition chocolate shake 120 calories Dinner: 2 oz chicken breast grilled with a tiny amount of chicken stock 78 calories Snack: Syntrax Nector 100 calories In between all day, Water. Protein 110 and calories 518 (sorry said 510 in the original post due to poor lighting and not being able to read my phone as I am blind a bat lol) Today I have only had 2 shakes and will have one syntrax nectar later as I am trying to increase my food and decrease Protein drinks. I had two medium brown eggs scrambled this morning for breakfast, a Protein Drink for lunch and tonight its chicken (2oz) and an 1/8 of a cup of veg if I can get through the chicken. My stomach is tiny!! I was shocked after a few days, that I could get so much liquid down and thought the surgeon hadn't taken away enough of my stomach. NOW I know he has lol
  6. Congratulations .. You look amazing. Well done!!
  7. Glad you are feeling better
  8. @@CocoBelle Let me know too please lol .. My NUT is away until Monday and I'd like to know if its the weight before or after cooking

  10. @mizzlane13 Congratulations on keeping to the plan and well done o the weight loss !!
  11. Best wishes for the surgery and a speedy recovery
  12. @tjstark I will message you
  13. Are you still on any medication? I am taking things very slow and I feel that's okay. I would rather slowly introduce foods and figure out what I can have each stage than rush for the sake of it. I am also sure that what our stomach doesn't like now or tolerate now, might be okay 6 months from now. I don't find it frustrating seeing people post here about the meals they are having at week 4. We are all different and as long as you are getting protein and fluids in then it's all good. However it might be an idea to speak to your GP or NUT in case they can suggest medication which might help or other foods you might tolerate. Good Luck!!
  14. @@Alex Brecher I get mine from Amazon and it's usually delivered the next day.
  15. Good luck with preparing for your surgery and congratulations. Join in here, read and then do !!
  16. My arms felt on fire on day two, however they didn't seem concerned and it stopped after about 5 hours. Have you let the team know?
  17. Best wishes to you both
  18. I did two weeks of liquids after surgery and the past 4 nights pureed. 1. chicken. Corn fed organic chicken which I love!! I pureed it with home made chicken stock and it was lovely. I made 2 ounces but only ate half. I had a medium sized sprout with it but couldn't eat it, I was too full from the chicken. 2. Salmon. 2 ounces made, had about half. It was okay but might leave it out for a while. 3. Scrambled eggs. Yum Yum Yum. Ate 2 oz. Went down very easy. 4 Tuna (fresh not tinned). Had about an ounce. This was lovely and easy to eat. Was really full after an ounce. Other than that I am having 3 Protein drinks a day and lots of Water. It seems very little but that's the amount my body can take/or wants. It sounds very bland but I am really enjoying it and I haven't had an issue with any of the food. I am happy to go slow, it's not forever In a few more days I will drop a Protein Drink and hopefully eat more at meal times.
  19. I use a scoop not a 1/4 of a scoop as stated on the nutritional guideline. I usually put it in 10 oz of Water and I love it. Not sure about the packets but I would suggest using the whole packet in a good amount of Fluid and see how that tastes to you. Enjoy
  20. Add more Water and ice and sip sip sip. I tried it with milk once and just couldn't drink it, so I only have it with water. When I first got home from hospital I drank one serving in a pint of water. Now I can have it in 6-8oz. Good Luck!!
  21. I Loved this : who is comfortable with herself and willing to do more in life, Who puts herself out there and is thriving. Congratulations !!! You look amazing
  22. That's handy to know. One thing that's happened to me is since surgery I sneeze a lot, at least 5 times a day. Very strange as I have never been like that before.
  23. Lisa... so bitter sweet. I hope this journey is the start of a fantastic life for yourself !! Good luck and warmest wishes in all things
  24. Hello CocoBelle.. as JamieLogical said everyone's experience is different but I agree that being knocked out was easy and over in a second. I couldn't have morphine for the first 2 days so I found the first evening difficult (I came out of surgery/recovery about 7pm) but within two hours I was up and walking around, sipping, sipping, sipping. Every day brings a milestone and you feel so much better. I am two weeks out now and feeling great, problems with constipation but that's resolved every now and again lol. I felt the surgery went really well and recovery has been spot on. I am still very tired so in between walking the dog and pottering around the house, I take it easy, nap or relax reading. Even this early out I know it's the best thing I have ever done for myself Nerves and anxiety is normal however this is a massive change in your life so you are bound to be anxious. Come here, chat, read, get support - this is an amazing site with a huge amount of people who have a vast amount of knowledge... I wish you all the very best for the run up to your surgery. Please keep posting and let us know how you are getting on!
  25. It's very early days for you. Just keep sipping all day and you will be surprised what a few days difference will make. Congratulations on the surgery and I hope your recovery is speedy!
