That's definitely one of what I call "the panics of bariatric surgery". Each of us has to face at least a few of those "panics" before, during, AND after surgery.
ANY cause for concern should be handled with your health care team.
Specifically, "not being able to STOP losing weight" usually doesn't last. It's usually our body and mind making yet another adjustment to that great and terrible thing we each had done to ourselves.
    Usually.
I can't overstate the need to address this and ANY other concern with your health care team. After all, you hired them to make this right. Right?

Counting down at T- 3 days and I'm stressed about things surrounding surgery, but ironically not the surgery itself, I want to make sure my FMLA pay is approved, I need the mechanic to work on my car, I need slippers, and I want my wife to stop stressing so much, I was even ok when I got a call on Thursday telling me that my surgeon had an emergency and would be out of the office 3 weeks, and asked if I wanted to keep my date and have his partner do it, of course I said yes, I've gotten to know the people and Dr.'s in the office, I guess I'm confident that my surgery will be ok, hut I want everything else to fall into place ! Lol

I anyone else done for the summer? Our last day with kids was Friday! I still have to go in this week to wrap up some paperwork, but I'm just so grateful that it will be a little less hectic and I will have plenty of time to focus on my pre-op diet and getting my house and other affairs in order. 8 days to go!

when I got my date I seconded guessed everything myself. I'm terrified of being in pain afterwards. The 1st 3 days after I got my date I couldn't sleep I kept dreaming about being in pain. Another worry for me is what's my skin and boobs gonna look like. But even with all these concerns I'm preparing each day . Also I'm not on a pre op diet. I just have to do Clear liquids the day before then fast after midnight.

That's how I felt too! So, I was surprised when the first two days weren't as pleasant as I expected. It's getting better, though. Keep us posted.

    Morning.
We have all gone through the feeling you are having at this time. It takes at least 4-5 months before you see a real difference. Wait till you buy your first outfit in a smaller size. It is amazing.
I went from a 4x to an XL in 6 months. I love looking in the mirror and seeing this amazing transition. You will see it, be patient and give your body a chance to react to your amazing work.
    Have a sparkling day !!!

Hello everyone, finally back home after my mom's memorial service. So glad to b out of that environment with my morphine stealing brother, family says its my word against his, since there is no proof. WTF. I left and they can put their enabling blinders back on. Im a little freaked because I overate, and grazed stealing bites of stuff and came home having lost more weight. 114.8 yesterday morning. Ate more yesterday but healthy food. See how things go. My labs were good at 6 months, but have been missing Vitamins here and there, not a lot but some.
I am worried that I might be one who can not stop losing. My doc had siad he wanted me to get to 110 before going on maintenance so maybe my body agrees with him, though I really dont want to lose any more. My face is so thin, the wrinkles from my previously fat cheeks are too much. thats why the last 4 pounds have me freaked, and it was in the last month, im afraid to tell my friends that I lost more weight at this point.

Ceetee13 every program is different but my nutritionist said my weight loss during the pre-op diet was very impressive. He said one guy lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks but that most people only lose about 3-4. At first I was under the impression that the weight would just fly off as well. Now I understand that 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy target. I lose somewhere between 0.5-2 lbs a week. In this instance I think slow and steady wins the race.
So far I am doing pretty well with my band. I am down about 35 lbs since the new year. I still have along way to go but I am already feeling much better. It is the simple things that I try to focus on like going up stairs and not being out of breath or buying a size smaller jeans, that kind of stuff.
It sounds like you are off to a great start and I wish you success.

ANewBeginning15 reacted to Healthy_life2 in Attention from opposite sex..I'm clueless
After years of being invisible to men. I'm not quite sure what to think about attention I get now. I am happily married and not looking. I am baffled that men even look at me. I have my wedding ring on. What is going on????
A younger man asked if he could pay for my groceries. I told him that was sweet but no... I have it...He was fine and smiled and went on his way.
A month later I had two younger men in front of me in a grocery store check out. They insisted on buying my groceries. They would not take no for an answer. I brought home a free dinner for me and my husband. Is this a new way to pick up women that I am clueless about?
Holiday's I was at a sports pub for a drink. Bar tender asked for my ID. (I'm an old chick) I said..I'm a grand ma and you want my ID? He laughed and said he wanted to know if I was close to his age. My drink arrived and he paid for it. ..Again I'm clueless.
I guess I should be flattered about the attention. I'm so used to being invisible that I don't pick up on what the motivation is from men sometimes...laughing at myself. I'm clueless.
Does the attention seem a bit amplified because I'm not used to it? Does it mellow out and go away?

you are so right about flying! I would love to be able to go on a plane without squishing the others in my row. AND to NOT have to ask for a seat belt extender would be great.
And I have already found that soon I'll be able to buy clothes without having to go the BIG & tall store...but I'll still be tall.
Nice to see my weiner too! it is growing back as I lose. That is a plus.
I lost weight awhile back, was able to run with my kids when they were young. I missed out on a lot of that but I want to be able to run again...coming soon.

It truly is, brother. My big things were to take up running. Did my first 5K 10 months after my operation. Last year, I did a 365-miles-in-365-days challenge and nailed it, and among those miles were three timed runs. Exercise has become therapy.
The best, though, was doing one of those mud obstacle runs. Didn't skip any obstacle and ran the whole thing (OK, plodded along at the end ). I was at the top of one of the big rope-ladder obstacles and realized that I literally wouldn't have been able to do this at 362. It was a great moment.
    Rock it, dudes.

My first 5K at 47, her first one at 9... lol. Also, we have pre-registered for a color run in July. The big challenge comes in the summer of 2016, when I am going to run my first Tough Mudder! My Iron was a little low but they went ahead with surgery. Iron deficiency is the most common Vitamin deficiency. As far as supplements, take your supplements with Vitamin C and NOT with Calcium (or milk). It works better and faster that way. Good luck.

ANewBeginning15 got a reaction from freelee in 2 week liquid pre-op diet
    Hello,
I'm also on day 3 of the 2 week liquid diet. I was struggling the first 2 days. Today is a little better and I don't have the headache anymore. Yes, I'm hungry, but it's tolerable. I couldn't wait to get this liquid diet started, but honestly, I didn't expect it to be quite the challenge that it turned out to be. But I think it will make it easier to adjust to the new dietary lifestyle after the surgery. It won't be quite as drastic of a change.
They are allowing me to have smoothies, creamy Soup, juice, SF pudding, yogurt without chunks, things that can be drunk through a straw. Seems a little less restrictive than what some of you are talking about.
