People Understanding
Why does it matter? No one can understand what it is to be like you. Even if they are the same height and weight. You can't look for validation and acceptance from other people because you will always be let down. You know what it is like to be you, that should be all that matters. You need to work on your self consciousness on your own. As you lose weight it will only get worse not better. Not being comfortable with yourself will only make your weight loss harder.

What Y'all Think- I
I have followed her since before I had surgery. Her videos about surgery early on helped me. Now what she talks more about her life and not surgery, I am not as interested as I was. Anyway, I think people get bogged down in certain aspects of who they are and blame all their problems on it. I have s ok many standard deviations that I could blame problems on. Fat Nerd Geek Black Curly hair Odd family makeup And the list goes on. In the end everyone has the same issues for the most part regardless, some people just can't see past themselves to realize it. It's like women who think they can't find or keep a decent man because they are fat. Okay, what is Halle Berry's excuse then? Beautiful thin women have the same problems that fat women have. People look for excuses to their problems instead of accepting their reality.

Healthy Crackers?
The best crackers to me are cucumber slices. The Quest chips would be okay. I have some. They good for like 5 chips then they are not that tastey.

Dumped on Valentine's Day
He sounds married as hell. There are so many married dudes on dating sites, the middle aged ones who are just trying to see if they can still pull women. It is vast and pathetic. On the bright side he didn't dump you, you didn't have a relationship. Never date one guy at a time, date 3 to 5 at a time and make them compete for your attention and affections. This way you don't get attached to one guy, you maximize your time, and the cream rises to the top. Accelerated natural selection. If you have a deep bench, you can easily replace a damaged starter.

Anesthesia......
Make sure you think something positive right before they put you out. That is the thought you will wake up with. No time passes for you, you close your eyes then you open them. Think positive, it really helps.

Spices, Seasonings, Herbs, and Condiments
Lemon garlic and garlic lovers are my favorite. They are perfect for baked fish and chicken. They are worth the price, the quality is like nothing you can buy in stores. The containers are also huge, they are really cheaper than store spices. If you are going to get just one garlic lovers is the most versatile. Lemon garlic is the best for seafood. It transforms baked fish and sautéed shrimp.

Should you get WLS if you are lazy with no plans to follow the program?
What is with this resurgence of the "Mediterranean diet"? I thought that was the fad 10 years ago? I feel like this is some setup for some sales pitch down the line or something. The Mediterranean diet for bariatric patients, a simple ebook for $5 or something.

Valentine's Day Weight Loss Challenge
264 still. I hope I drop some before we start the next challenge next week.

Bra math - don't try this at home.
I don't wear any used clothes or share clothes with anyone. The whole idea gives me the hibbie jibbies. A bra because of the warmth of your body, their materials and construction is useless once someone has worn it.

Monster energy drinks!
If you are preoperative you might find that after surgery when you have dropped enough weight you don't need them for energy.
-
Bra math - don't try this at home.
I can't wear clothes coated in other people's skin cells. Is it even legal to sell used bras? Isn't that a health violation?

Can't stop "cheating"
Chewing gum gets your stomach acid going and just makes you hungry. Do not chew gum. Simulating eating is not going to make you less hungry, just more hungry.

What can I do with...Brussels Sprouts?
Roasting them is the best. They stay firm and are fun to munch on. Now I wish I had some

Self-soothing and comfort foods post bariatric surgery.
Hot tea is awesome in the winter when you want something warm. Bonus points for drinking it black and calorie free.

D-I-S-R-E-S-P-E-C-T Find out what it means to me
Don't Leave Me This Way- Thelma Houston Disco forever! This is the most active WLS site because of the app. We have to roll with the punches.

Bra math - don't try this at home.
Soma has really nice bras if you support. Yes they are around $60, but they are worth it. The staff in the store are good at measuring. A good bra will make you look slimmer, it isn't the place to cut corners. If I end up spending $60 a month on bras it is offset by my food savings.

addiction to carbs/need advice
Kids don't buy groceries, parents do. Parents are in control of what comes in the house. Kids shouldn't be eating fake food like packaged mac and cheese anyway. @@sbg224 If you want crunch, slice a really firm cucumber is cracker thick slices. You can season them and just eat them or you can use them like crackers and put toppings on them.

Overwhelmed on what to stick my cabinets with
I would say don't stock up on anything. I still have broth and those nasty New whey Protein shots on the shelf. I got a lot of stuff because I live alone and I thought I would be out of commission for a while but I went shopping on the 3rd day after surgery. You don't know what you will like or what your sleeve will like, don't get too much.

Small hiccup
I hope the stress test goes well. I went from EKG to Echo to a stress test. Then I had to have a cardiac cath. All for them to say my heart is fine. Good luck

What made you decide to have surgery?
There was a thread on this recently if you search for straw you should get the thread and a lot of responses
-
Don't Let Nobody
You made a thread that didn't got how you wanted. Then you made another thread to take everyone to task for taking your first thread on face value. You could have just stayed in the first thread or taken a break but you decided to make another dramatic thread. I made a thread when my was freshly sleeved and my hormones were all crazy. Almost no one agreed with my opinion, even though I wasn't looking for opinions I was just venting. I stopped responding to the thread and I will never bring the topic up on this forum again. If people don't say what you want, you can just take a break or ignore them.

Hunger!
I was awake and watched my swallow test on the screen so I pretty much know the exact placement of my sleeve and intestines in relationship to each other.
-
Don't Let Nobody
I have spent an entire day with my Priest and heard God and the Bible used less than you have is these 2 threads. Like I said, a hit dogs will holler.

Hunger!
Do you notice it more with certain foods? I looked back at what you wrote and thought about myself at the same time period. I had some issues like this. I knew it was not hunger though because of my swallow test being live, I knew where my stomach was and where my intestines were. The longer I was eating real food, it stopped. Then again at 6 months I had some days like that and then it ended. It seems like a switch flipped for a while then it went off. I think it is part of the healing process. Maybe some other veterans can chime in.

Don't Let Nobody
I wish you wouldn't put God in all your posts. It is a poor excuse for your crappy attitude. Being a good Christian doesn't mean wearing your Christianity like a cloak or trying to shove it down other people throats. Since you read you bible so much I am sure you are well versed on what was said about the hypocrites. Hit dogs holler.
