  1. I was 467 at surgery and am currently 112 pounds down since Feb 9th.
  2. Oh I love this topic! lol I had some soft shell chicken tacos but noticed that the corn tortillas filled me up so I don't eat all the tortilla anymore and it is usually one taco. A burrito on the other hand just can't do it. I think it is the flour tortilla but I have to eat the insides and leave the tortilla and also no rice. What is the healthy way for french fries?
  3. I was going through that with some of my favorite foods about a month ago. I had stayed away from them for months after surgery but decided to try them. The taste of them are different now and I can honestly say that I am glad I tried to eat them again. Now I don't deprive myself of foods I once loved because they don't taste the same. I used to love soda as well but when I tried to take a sip of sprite I just couldn't handle the taste and the feeling I got in my stomach. Now it's water, green tea and Crytal Light!

@@FocusOnMeNow no advise is too much at this point in time for me, thank you!

Thank you all for your responses, very helpful. Like I said I'm not dating at the moment but it helps to be prepared. I would want to offer to pay for the date but yeah if she insists on splitting it after a second time of me saying I'll pay then I will respect her wishes.
  6. I have created a couple online profiles on dating sites but have yet to go on a date. I find it very time consuming searching through profiles and also making my profile something someone would be interested in reading. My concern is though once I start dating what should I expect? From my very limited experience I would pay for everything and didn't think twice about it. I was talking with my friend yesterday and she said it is not like that anymore. It is more of split it down the middle kinda thing or go dutch. This is when you are dating and when you decide to move in together (which is not even a thought right now). What I would like to know is if any of you have come across dating situation where you didn't know what to do or tried to do what you thought was normal only to find out it wasn't.
  7. Congrats! How is your recovery going?
  8. That is definitely a difficult situation and I cannot imagine what you are going through. All I can say is hang in there and be as supportive as you can. Don't forget about yourself and your needs though, you are important. Keep your head up.
  9. I'm driving a beat up 95 four door Honda Civic so I am hoping my sleeve convinces me to get something better!
  10. must be a taste bud thing, I have the same ones and I love them. Maybe it's too soon for those vitamins? try another brand until you are further out? Maybe some gummy ones will help
  11. Congrats! Sadly I'm still a super kinda guy but I'm getting down as well.
  12. @@Fabiana87 I was 467 when I had surgery. I'm at 355 now. Oh and really nice pic!
  13. Mine was 73 when I had VSG surgery and now it's 56
  14. I worked with Developmentally Disabled Adults for 10 years and now I'm in IT. I agree a lot of people in jobs that help others.
  15. Not everyone is the same so that is unfortunate that you ended up in a lot of pain. Glad you are doing better now! stool softeners are your friend!
  16. I'm still waiting until I get to a weight that I can fit in one seat on a plane comfortably. Good luck on your journey and keep us posted on your progress. There is a lot of help on here for just about anything you can think of.
  17. Well I can tell you that I can take about 3 regular bites out of a burger and be full. It was never really a problem food for me so I am okay with that.
  18. Most challenging I would say motivation to exercise since I have yet to start. The most exciting has been being able to do things such as reach the gas tank door release inside the car on the floor or being able to actually fit in a booth at a restaurant. I still don't see it in the mirror but people say my face is slimmed down and they can tell I have lost weight. Where are you on your journey?
  19. @@tfoley1104 oh how I can relate! after surgery that's all I thought about too especially when family is having your favorite food around you! I'm getting better with it though, like I have tried some of the old foods I ate before and just can't do it now. I am glad I at least tried them to realize that. I do daydream about food at times though. lol
  20. @@Snooks I know exactly what you are going through and yes I have felt the same way. With diets its different because at anytime we can just go off and eat whatever we want. With the surgery it makes it a lot harder to do that. Some people don't use the tool they are given and go back to old habits. Once you start seeing the change in yourself you will realize that you made a great choice for you. It has taken me time to realize that too but now I am starting to see that I made the best choice for myself. Good luck in your journey and know that I am jealous that you are in England! I always wanted to go there! lol
  21. @@OneDollarBill does it help with compressing down the moobs?
  22. @@Sajijoma it sure does make for good reading. lol
  23. Congrats on being sleeved! I'm sure you will find plenty of help on here.
  24. I would think edibles would be better than smoking it especially if ulcers are a concern. Isn't there oils you can use as well during your restricted period? Maybe that would help.
  25. lost my job in Cali and my sister lives here so I figured I would move to be close to her and my nieces and nephew. But I miss Cali at times, it gets so hot here. At least in Big Bear it got warm in summer but nothing like this. I could go to the lake if I wanted and cool off. But being around my family is a positive trade off.
