  1. I have always been overweight since I was about 6 or 7, I don't know what life is like at a normal weight and can't wait to see what the difference is.
  2. to say I never regretted it, I would be lying. Yes there were times that I regretted getting the surgery only because I had felt I took away the one thing I could control and that is what I can eat. I had to get used to giving up some favorite foods and drinking. Looking back I don't regret it but wish I had done it years ago instead of now.
  3. @@bellabloom I clicked on yours and it says the profile is not available. Okcupid is not bad seems like real people on that one.
  4. @@OKCPirate Oh I don't know if I would even say anything for awhile if I was serious about someone. I can barely believe I was that heavy.
  5. wow I wonder what women will think once I get to goal and say I used to be over 500lbs. lol
  6. tinder only works in my area for hookers...gotta love Vegas. lol
  7. it will probably be a lot faster for you then since you are self pay. Did they explain the process at the seminar you went to?
  8. I got the date the same day I seen my surgeon for the consult. After seeing him I had to see the scheduler and she gave me the date. Might be different for others though. Mine was a couple weeks after seeing the surgeon.
  9. @ I'm sure there are going to be more questions as you go on this journey. This place is a great resource for just about anything you can think of.
  10. nice to meet you as well.
  11. Thanks for sharing, it does give me some tips on what I should put on mine!
  12. took me about 4 days, had to take stool softeners to help
  13. @@cuchas you look great! I think we all go through the depression, I know I am still but I am not wanting to take pills. It is a total change mentally from losing weight.
  14. Thank you all for your comments, I'm going to make an appointment with my doctor and see what it is. I don't take any meds and I don't think it's what I'm eating but I'll see.
  15. I'm 7 months post op and for the past month I have woken up three times by extreme nausea and then throwing up. I don't have anything before bedtime so I don't have a full stomach. Nothing comes up other than clear liquid. Last time it happened was yesterday at 4am. Does anyone else go through this?
  16. @@bellabloom 1, kung fu movies rock! 2. you gotta do that so that people can understand you, loud speak is universal language 3. cults are awesome! you got lots of friends and it's a special club. sorry I had to..those stories are horrible! All these stories are giving me tips on what not to do. haha

Sorry you are going through that, it's hard when you have feelings for someone and they can't stop their addiction. You gotta think of yourself first though and do what is best for you.

  19. I really like the monthly check ups with Patient Pal, It's nice to have that call each month to check up on us.
  20. @@Namaste6 that would be a cool business to have! hang out with cats all day. lol
  21. wow that's awesome! Which island is that on?
  22. @@Cervidae haha thanks I'm sure she is out there feeding stray cats! I have always had cats as well so I would have to meet someone who love cats as well.
  23. I've had a dog before but I am more of a cat person. I don't want to worry about a dog being home alone while I work, I thought about getting one again just to get out and go for walks.
  24. @@bellabloom It's not going to matter to someone who is interested in you. If it does, then you are better off without them! This would be another advantage of dating someone who also had WLS, they would be thinking the same about their loose skin.
