  1. Hey there! I am in Round Rock, north of Austin. I do go to the support group each month and Ganta is a great doc! Best of luck to you! Kim
  2. Yahoo! Way to Go!
  3. I did what Kranky813 did, only I did not do as much Water. The grape ones worked really well with the Powerade zero grape. Just my ..02
  4. Hello there. This is a tough journey and is never over. My best suggestion would be to stop where you are now. Go get some of the Protein drinks you used when you were first out of hospital and for a good 5-7 days do protein and water/non carbonated non caloric beverages only. If you are consuming alcohol, carbonated beverages, etc., you will need to make a committed effort to stop so you can turn this around. Just my .02. I found that when I could eat more, if I went back to liquids for a few days and as low carb as possible, the restriction was such that it was a great help. Also keeping carbs as low as possible really curbs the desire to eat, at least for me, anyway. I wish you well on this journey! Kim
  5. I have made it with fat free marinara and a little shredded chicken and some eggplant as a meal - layered it like a lasagna and it was grand! I do love plain cottage cheese too.
  6. Interesting read on the essential oil formula.
  7. I watch this community tracker and it makes me so happy!!!
  8. So glad to hear. May you and Dave continue to heal and continue to feel Heavenly Father's comforting hands!!
  9. It does get better. Mushy foods are a real help.
  10. Would suggest miralax too. You will feel better after going a bit.
  11. Awesome. Atta WAY!!! Yay for the great accomplishment! Kim
  12. Not to be too graphic - but a lack of Water also makes it very difficult to eliminate waste products effectively. Since we tend to not get enough from food as we eat so little, we need to drink it. The other issue is that for many thirst actually feels like hunger, ensuring that we are not thirsty helps with not feeling hungry to many too.
  13. I did what Kranky813 did - diluted it with a bit of powerade zero. I just love the grape powerade. I do drink isopure occasionally, but not as much as I used to.
  14. At Sajijoma - Good heavens! That was a disastrous date!
  15. I've been able to keep down the centrum chewables. They do have iron. Do have to have them with food though.
  16. YES!!! I scored some of these at Sam's for 3.91 a case this weekend! I love the chocolate and vanilla and tried one of these. It was lovely - but needs to be quite cold to taste nice. Also this one does not have anywhere near the Protein and is only about 20 calories less than the 30gram ones. I like it for a little change.
  17. Fantastic!!! Awesome job!!! Keep on smiling and feeling fabulous
  18. Welcome! Best of luck to you on your journey!
  19. I concur with the Squatty potty. I have one and it is a real help. Also adding fiber in has helped too.
  20. Welcome! Fantastic progress you are making! Kim
  21. I had a repair done at the same time. The recovery was not any different from what I can tell. Best of luck to you. Getting the hernia fixed will lessen the chances of having GERD or other major problems with your new stomach. Kim
  22. I tend to cook on Sundays and freeze several portions for lunches/dinners through the week. I have done it 3 weeks in a row now and have about 15 meals frozen at a given point in time. It really helps grab a couple to throw into the lunch box and off to work I go!
  23. Tuna, chicken, fat free low sodium broth for adding flavor to veggies, light string cheese, veggies, frozen veggies, tomato sauces - low sugar/fat free, balsamic vinegar, low fat cottage cheese, turkey breast, fat free refried beans, black beans, green beans, premier protein, just your basic stuff...
  24. I'm with Babbs on this. You had a piece of cake. Was it the best plan? No. Can you move forward from here? Yep! Go back to plan. Eating as low in refined foods and carbs as possible will likely help you heal from the chemo too. Prayers for you. Kim
