    July Sleever

Happy Anniversary Month Everyone!!!! I am doing great! The weight loss has slowed down considerably, but I am down to 160lbs which is only 5lbs from goal. Hope to be there by my 1yrear follow-up appointment scheduled for next month. I will say I'm not fond of all the loose skin especially on my arms, but it's better than the extra 130lbs I was carrying.Lol!! Still trying to the recommended diet focusing on Protein 1st, and the portions are really smalI, I'm surprised sometimes at how soon I'm full. I do allow myself to have treats from time to time without overdoing it. It's great to hear from everyone and happy for everyone's hard work and success!
  2. I guess I did kinda forget to mention how I was doin. Lol! The first few months were very difficult. I had constant nausea and vomiting everyday. It has gotting so much better and I would do it all again. My sleep apnea has also drastically improved. I am still learning my "full" spot and sometimes go way too far and it becomes uncomfortable. But I am loving my decision to do this and loving the results. It's great to hear that everyone is going well. Here's to our continued success! Alicia
  3. I was sleeved on July 29th and would love to hear from all my fellow July and August sleevers. How has your journey been so far?

    Prayers

AMEN!!! This is the ABSOLUTE best post I've read on this site. I welcome any and all prayers. I always tell people I may not a always have much to give, but I can always offer prayer. Not everyone is receptive, but I know the POWER OF PRAYER and will do so anyway. Felix THANK YOU for this post and thank God from whom all blessings flow. Not only will others be blessed by this, but you and your family will also. To God Be The Glory
  5. Thanks so much for the advice and the words of encouragement. Looking at your stats I can see that you guys have made pretty impressive strides yourselves. Here's to all of our continued success and a healthy and Blessed 2016.
  6. I had my surgery July 29, 2015 and have lost just over 100lbs so far, but I ABSOLUTELY hate when people ask how much have you lost followed by how did you do it. I usually answer "a lot" and I tell them the truth that I had the sleeve procedure. My problem is I then get that "oh you took the easy way out" look from people. There has been nothing easy at all about this journey. I had 4 months straight of nausea and vomiting and still suffer from some vomiting on a smaller scale. But I work very hard watching what I eat and exercising. How do I answering these questions while at the same time stressing that I've worked hard for my weight loss?

    Nausea

Hello, I am 5 months out and had horrible nausea and vomiting. Still not completely over it, but it's much better. Had several test ran and my doctor said that it just takes some people longer. Best advise it take small bites and eat VERY VERY slowly. I'm still working on that part. Good luck! Alicia
  8. W Ms. Robots your doing great! I'm going to try some of that soon. I was sleeved on July 28th and I've lost about 38lbs. since surgery (about 76 total from highes weight) I had a rough start after surgery. I was nauseous and threw up constantly for one straight month. Couldn't return to work or anything. It has gotten much better. Don't feel nauseous much anymore until I eat. Some things just feel like a knot at the top of my stomach then it comes right up. So I went back to mostly soft things for now and will slowing try to add more things later. I would love to hear how more July sleevers are doing.
  9. Hello All, I finally got back in to see my doctor yesterday and convinced him to please run some test just to ease my mind. Well thankfully all the test came back fine and he said it would just take some time for me to get over the nausea. I also received an IV for the dehydration, it took just over for hours, but I feel so much better. On mushy foods today and so far it stayed down. Amitchell39, how are you feeling? Still praying that things are looking up of you as well. Thanks again everyone,
  10. I'm so sorry to hear that, but hopefully this is where things will start to turn around. That sounds exactly like what I've been experiencing. Thank you for the prayers and I'll be praying for your daughter as well. Alicia

    Nausea

I can certainly relate. I was sleeved on 7/28 and the nausea is getting worse. I'm in desperate need for some relief. My doctor just continue to say it will get better with time. I'm just concerned that it may be something more serious. Good luck and hopefully you're feeling better soon.
  12. Thanks for all of the advise and information. I go back to the dotor on Wednesday morning and I am going to insist that he running some test to see if there is a stricture or something else going on. The vomiting has continued and I need something to ease my mind that it's nothing more serious going on. Thanks again
  13. What advise has your surgeon giving you? Mine continue to tell me that it will get better, that he's seen this before and although it is miserable it will get better. I wish he would run a test or X-ray to see if it is a stricture or scar tissue because that is what I really feel may be going on. Good luck to you. Hopefully this ill pass and you'll be happy that you had this procedure.
  14. I had my surgery and hiatal hernia repair on July 28th. Instead of getting better, it is getting harder and harder to keep ANYTHING down. I have been back to the doctor 2 times and have several meds for nausea and also still on full liquids only. I was told yesterday that I was on the verge of dehydration and could use an IV drip, but I'd have to come back because they were done by appointment and there wasn't a free bed available (smh). I am not getting in any nourishment and starting to feel pretty crappy. Please tell me that someone else has had a similar experience and have come out on the other side. I know there has to be light at the end of the tunnel , I'm just ready to see it.
