  1. Not only do straws introduce air..but we tend to gulp or swallow to much with a straw. ..
  2. I don't understand either. ..I'm 17 days post op and get the hiccups EVERY time I eat or drink. .. but just hold my breath for a few seconds.
  3. I had the same sharp pains....no prior surgeries. ..Dr said it's due to that's the primary side they do the work on...for RNY and sleeve patients. I'm 16 days post op and its just now starting to be non existent. ...but there was pain ANYTIME I moved.

I'd avoid if possible....I was taking phentermine on 3 different occasions in life....and recently had an SVT Ablation. ..due to the rapid heart beats..felt like a heart attack. ..it's not worth it...and I'm only 35.
  6. I was hoping for a meeting near Elgin...if you find one let me know...otherwise I plan on going to the monthly meeting at the Kane Center in Hoffman Estates this Saturday at 10:30a. ..only thing is you pay $10 for the hour meeting.
  7. I'm like you. Lol. .hair was done. ...and nails...although my nails were a bright yellow and toes were a neon green. ..they were still able to monitor my oxygen using my finger.
  8. To be honest. ..you're probably looking at a January or February surgery date. Due to your NUT sends the paperwork to insurance upon completion of the supervised diet. Following that you will have other appointments which have to be done with 30 days of surgery...after that you will still be waiting on approval from insurance. ..which could take a day to a few weeks. My approval was about a week after supervised diet.
  9. I haven't craved or been hungry....and actually set alarms every 3 hours to remind myself to eat. .. well....I take that back..when I see certain items...I make the hubby eat. ..burgers, pizza, cinnamon rolls. .. lol. ..he could use the lbs... lol. ..but no I haven't had a desire...probably due to my fear of dumping.
  10. I too only met with my surgeon 2x prior to surgery, but was very comfortable. I'm 12 days post op RNY w/ acid reflux (which hasn't been an issue since surgery, I do still take prilosec. )
  11. I have the worst memory as well....I just had to put down my best guess...
  12. 30 min before eating and 30 min after eating.
  13. I'm 14 days post op and my nails and toes were painted. ..gel...and there were no questions.
  14. Try drinking hot tea, it breaks up mucus.
  15. Awesome. ...other than my allergic reaction to the glue from the incision tape everything is going well. The first 5 days was tough but glad I had my hubby around to help. How about you @@patriciaxoxo? **update** I wish I knew my incision sites would be so itchy. ..still....even at 15 days post op.

  19. You are not alone. ...I found out today I'm itchy around the incision sites due to an allergic reaction to the tape/coverings they placed on me.
