  1. Welp my fellow June 2015 RNY's.....it's my time (6/2)....and I'm at peace....and ready to get the party started and continue this journey to a lifetime commitment of health. It's been 35 years of indulging in bad food choices. ..now ready to commit the remainder of my life to a healthier life....and indulge in healthy food choices; andddd I wouldn't be mad if a sister became a mother along the way Best of luck to all of you along your journey. ..and let's do this.....and knock obesity out the park....NO MORE obesity labels for me!!!
  2. Thanks. .. and keep me posted. ..6/29 will be here before you know it!
  3. It does definitely get better. ..I just finished my 15 day liquid pre-op diet (surgery in the morning) .. went to lunch today with my husband to a Chinese restaurant. ..and had the broth from Oriental soup. ... and it was amazing! !! Tasted like a PRIME USDA STEAK!!!!!
  4. Well welcome....I'm pretty new as well....in fact I heard about the site sitting in the Dr's office..."ease dropping" on someone else's' convo (well they were just talking really loud). lol....and its been awesome! Well don' t know what I can add...I had to do 15 days of a pre-op diet. Each surgeon is completely different....I had to do complete Meal Replacement Protein shakes (Bariatric Advantage)....which it took about a week to get used to it..,and get in my flow of what fruit I wanted to add to it. I purchased a strawberry and an Unflavored...and daily I would add 1 scoop of each with 1/3 cup of a mix of strawberries and blueberries to 8 oz of Water. Although I hated them..I got used to them...and thankful...bc I lost 20 pounds in 14 days. I have my surgery tomorrow...and will be back on Protein Shakes afterwards....I'm running from BA...and bought "Premier" at CVS...a lot of people on this forum have been recommending it (30 grams of Protein, 1 gram of Sugar, 160 calories)...and I spoke to my dr about it today and he said it's great! I'll have to let you know how it goes...I have surgery in the morning...and will have the shake next week. KIT....I'm 33....and used to live in FL....(Jacksonville....Duvaaalllll)....now in the Chicago suburbs!
  5. I wouldn't look at it like it's a bad thing....originally my surgeon advised I would be a good candidate for the Sleeve...but I was feeling "some type of way" just knowing...half of my stomach was going to be cut off and thrown in trash. I guess I was more of less thinking....god forbid if anything occurred and I needed things reversed...with the sleeve that was not going to happen. At least with the "gold standard"....it could if it needed to happen. I was glad my upper GI displayed acid reflux. Well all in all I'm at peace and ready to get the party started....I have my surgery in the morning! Best of luck to you...ALL WILL BE FINE!
  6. What about trying those Quest Protein bars.....I haven't tried them...but will be ordering really soon....I've heard lots of really good reviews....especially about the "chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Quest Protein Bar. Best of luck..and I know you will pull though!!
  7. Me too!!!! Best of luck for a smooth surgery and a speedy recovery woth no complications!
  8. Omg....I'm with you!!!!!!!. ...my poor hubby. .bc every time he cooks, I get mad, every time he brings food home, I get mad ...lol. ... I know he has to eat but it just smells so darn good!!!! I've just had to push through. ..we're almost there girl!

  15. OMG!! That sounds painful! (As if the surgery isnt.. lol) its so crazy how each DR has their own test they make us go thru for the same surgery. ..glad mine did not request an ABG!
  16. It really depends on ur insurance company and the detailed paperwork your team submits. I have Cigna. ..after the 3 month supervised diet everything was moving wayyyy faster than I was thinking it would take....approval within a day...and my surgery date is on 6/2!
  17. @cbradshaw310....I feel ur pain...I too have PCOS and on Metformin...it us definitely hard...you have to literally only have protein and veggies and drink water only ...soooooo hard trust I know! For me dessert, carbs, pop used to be a must at every meal!!!! You can do it my sista!!!
