Horrified! Labs came back
Are you taking an appetite suppressant? Unfortunately, I went through this with a job because the dr didn't tell me that would happen. They cleared it up quickly and I was able to start. I called friends crying and they all laughed because I was a "goody good". Well, even one hung up on me telling me to stop lying. So, there could be a valid reason.

Rutabaga Fries
I've never tasted a rutabaga. I did however look up this seasoning which I've never heard of. Great! Thanks! And these look like real fries.

The sum of all fears
My clinic hands out a bright pink sheet with all the questions to ask the insurance company. It states that it is your responsibility to know. But they also verify it.

Update on gnc 100% whey protein
My dietician had me to add Water to my shake. A little water makes it thin quickly.

Did you get the GNC Lean 25? I know that is on Amazon but they have literally everything there usually. This recipe looks amazing!

Do you like pudding? There is no fat/no sugar added vanilla pudding. I went and bought all of these and jellos to try before surgery. I made the banana pudding only so far. It doesn't taste any different. My plan book says use skim or 1% milk.

Tell me more about this pumpkin spice protein! Where'd ya get it, how do you prepare it?? I got it at GNC. Since I am pre-op, I had to mix in only Water. Didn't like it. But I also didn't like the banana one that I love in shakes I make w pureed banana/apple sauce plus carrots or carrots/brocolli cauliflower. So, I'm honestly thinking this may be something I'd like in applesauce or something other than plain water. My coworkers loved it. I'm glad I had a pack of chicken Soup flavor

2 Year Surgiversary & 150 Pounds Gone! (With pics)
Congrats! My goal is to ride every ride in Hershey Park. I have never been but we found it online. I've been to Disney and Universal Hollywood. Last Summer we had season pass for all the Cedar Fair parks. Through the journey of the season pass, I experienced something similar to yours. Well, I didn't at Disney so I wasn't expecting it nor did I realize my size. I am as mobile as possible. I can run short distances. So, I didn't really see myself where I was without the scale. I promised myself that my son would never ask, "Mom, is your tummy ok?" He checks on each ride. There was actually a ride he wanted to ride so bad that I rode it because they got the bar down. And every time it spun, I was in horrible pain. But, we never want our kids to miss out on something. I told him that I am eating healthy so that I wouldnt have to sit down like I did at Disney. Well, I sat down once the whole day. We were there from 9am-11pm. But I could barely walk after. Then the next day I realized why, I had major bruising on my inner thighs. I am excited to see someone with a similar story. It gives me hope! I also want to rollerblade again. I will buy myself some once I get to a comfortable weight.

Good job sticking to your plan! I just bought pumpkin spice protein. Maybe that could help?

Things I didn't expect my first month post-op
I just laughed so hard! I have done the scale thing already and I am pre-op. It makes sense to know!

My doctor said NO to surgery!
I did lose 40 lbs on an appetite suppressant. I kept it off 2yrs. But the stress of life...as usual, I have it back now. They educate you of the risks prior to doing surgery. So, you are not just thrown in. I don't feel it's fair to make a blanket statement as such. There are so many reasons people could have complications, some not preventable. So, I really hope this gets resolved for you!

Perception and Shooting Our Own Wounded
I have not had surgery yet. I know we all know the feeling of being judged. I have been super careful about what goes in my cart these past few months. I was in Wal-Mart yesterday and talking to my friend who is also my new gym buddy about the frozen veggies and rice. We were discussing sodium counts and how we want to be able to add our own seasonings. As I was telling her at my grocery store, they have no salt added canned veggies and that most things I do for shakes, I use fresh and into the Ninja. I then hear someone say, "OMG, thank you!" She goes onto how she came into the aisle for ice cream and our convo made her change her mind. She was then seeking frozen yogurt and I explained to her how she could do this herself and save some money. I didn't feel like I should have been thanked. But I was glad to be a helpful hand for someone not even noticing I was. With that said, we are being judged constantly whether good or bad. And it's completely normal to have an initial reaction but some times it truly is because of us seeing ourselves and our struggles in that person.

Did anyone feel pressure by surgeon to so bypass instead of sleeve
I have Vitamin deficiencies and I was steered away from RNY. I was told the band may be the only option unless I got my neuro to clear me. With the sleeve they meeting that you can not take pills bigger than can fit down a straw. A lot of meds would be stopped or changed

Not What I Expected
This is supposed to go in Pre-Op Section

Not What I Expected
Had sleep study last night. Was extremely shocked with the set up. I thought it was just going to be something like a shared hospital room with a million wires attached to me. I had my own room with a bathroom and TV. They had SleepNumber beds and wi-fi! So, I survived the night ha! Well really, I was tired way before I was allowed to go to bed :-(

Moving Forward
Thank you for the encouragement. It's been a long process. At times, I've questioned if I'm doing the right thing. I've already made most of the requested changes. Now, I just need to lose the required 25 lbs. I know it'll happen now that I have the structured diet.

Moving Forward
Completed Psych Eval this morning. Didn't feel too great about it. Felt extremely rushed. I will get the results in 2 weeks. I don't like the idea of this being the determination of my entire outcome. This is the first week I have held myself 100% accountable. After getting the screw off the bottom of the food scale, which is a lifesaver by the way, I measured out all lunch and dinner for the week. My grocery list has significantly changed. I actually like the wheat English Muffins. I am Pre-Surgery. So, my diet, of course is 1500 calories. I have found a calendar that helps to lay it all out. I've completed all my visits with health insurance and 2nd req dietician visit will be same day as results in 2 wks. I am still a work in progress. I am proud of how far I've come. sleep study on Monday.

surgery cancelled/postponed!
Sorry that happened to you! But it's best to be 100% before going forward. I hope that you can move past this and still be successful at a later date!

I am seeing a lot of people had this issue with WLS surgery not being covered. It is sad because it's one of those things people just don't have enough info about. I am moving forward. My sleep study will be next Monday. So, the next few weeks will be a waiting game for me. Yes, more people ask how could I like my job. But some days are better than others. I'm sure it's the same with anything, you care so much for the person on the phone that you forget you're at work. But I am thankful that my position is not so scripted that we can not be compassionate about the situation families are going through. It feels so great to be thanked.

This has got to be be a very interesting job. It takes a very strong person. @@justme29 -- it is indeed interesting! Thanks! Hardest, most stressful job I've ever had. I'm 10 days post op & already worried about being on my game when I go back. No room for mistakes! Congrats on getting through the process. Keep going! I am still working through the kinks. But I am a debt collector. Probate Collections. Some days I feel like I'm a licensed therapist though. I love helping people through the tough time. But in the end, collections is the job role. Just be patient with yourself. From all the posts, it does seem we take jobs to care for others.

Bariatric Advantage Promo Code?
There is a clinic look up option on there. Also, you'll want to use your drs code because each clinic may have different suggested items.

Smoking! surgery 2 weeks away
It may be different in Mexico, well it's different state to state. But my clinic says 8 weeks. I know someone that was not able to proceed because she couldn't quit. If you have the timeline from your dr, focus there. Keep your progress as your way of getting through. I am not a smoker so that I can't relate. But they do say with any addiction, including food, it has to be replaced. Hope this resolves for you!
