Baked Rutabaga Fries

PreHeat Oven to 425

1/4 Rutabaga

1 teaspoons olive oil

1 Tbl Flavor God Garlic Lovers

OR

Garlic powder to taste

Onion powder to taste

Sea Salt to taste

This recipe is modified from http://allrecipes.com/recipe/230404/rutabaga-oven-fries/

Cut the rutabaga into quarters. If you have a french fry cutter, this is much easier, you can just cut it in there. If not then cut into even fry size pieces. Put the rutabaga in a bowl, add olive oil, and seasonings. Toss until evenly coated. Place on aluminum foil on baking tray, and put in oven. Bake 25 minutes, but keep an eye on them, depending on the seasoning they can get a little dark.

The rutabaga I purchased was about a little under a pound. Depending on the size of the rutabaga the carbs are going to vary. I weighed my sections on my scale, My 1/4 was 3.5 oz or 99 grams. Which works out to about 8 carbs, 2 of which are Fiber for about 6 net carbs, and around 1 gram of Protein.

I am going to try these with just coconut oil spray later on in the week and see if they brown as well.

I have seen these recipes online for a while but never tried them. They are delicious. They have a slight sweet taste, but other than that, they are so close to fries, you will be surprised.

I've never tasted a rutabaga. I did however look up this seasoning which I've never heard of. Great! Thanks! And these look like real fries.

The flavor god seasoning can seem expensive, but it is super high quality and flavorful, the containers are also very large. The lemon garlic is great, and the garlic is great also. The everything is okay but I don't like the everything spicy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
