I had my own private room, all patients in my floor did. Do not insult others on this page because perhaps your hospital stay wasn't as pleasurable. I was able to sleep at night, watch the tv if I wanted, whenever I wanted. I'm an adult Lol. I also requested to get up and walk quite often on my own. Each hospital and staff is different. My nurses were awesome. I understand her frustration at being work up as getting comfortable is an hour long process. I was woken up at 4am to be weighed just as I fell asleep. I totally get it.

That was my experience exactly! Congrats. The oxy is great. I took it round the clock even if the pain was fine because once it flares up you want to die. I stopped about 3 days after I got home and then took it once or twice at night only. My only advice is don't overdo movement even when you feel good. I definitely have been and I am sooooo sore by the end of the day Lol. I'm two weeks post op!

Eating too few calories can prevent weight loss. I am in the same boat but just congratulate myself when no have a good day and try to remember this is a learning curve. Crying also helps Lol

Call them now. I had diarrhea for two days and called and their suggestions cleared it right up. Don't wait, they are experts. In the hospital I was dehydrated and told them and they pumped me with fluids right away. Don't prolong your agony Lol

Day 16 and I'm just over it !! I just want to be able to go out with my family for Mother's Day tomorrow. I know it's not true but right now I feel like I will never be "normal" again. I can't even think about food, I kind of hate everything This is my 3rd surgery and by far the hardest !!

I'm always surprised by the variety of recommendations from different Drs. My first two weeks post op was broth, Jello and Water. Two full weeks; then to solid food as tolerated. Barely ate any food. Don't recall when I started Vitamins (2003; rny). Don't worry so much about the food. Drink, maybe some Isopure for Protein. But like my Dr. said, we have plenty of excess calories to use up for the first few months. Be happy you don't feel like eating. "Make hay while the sun shines!!". Trust me, you'll eat more than you want to later. Good luck.

rnyryry got a reaction from lexiemustang in Liver Reduction Diet... SUCKS.
STAY BUSY! that will definitely help and I try to space out the shakes so I don't get overly hungry, like have them at regular intervals. I definitely struggled with my pre-op diet and had a lot of frozen meals with lots of Protein because the shakes were getting old. I have changed my eating habits a lot in the past two weeks even with eating food instead of shakes and don't feel like I hindered myself at all. Everyday is a struggle to get through the head hunger of wanting something, ANYTHING that is greasy, fried, cheesy, etc. Just because I decided to have this surgery doesn't mean I forget my favorites or love my Protein Shakes. It's a process that I take a day at a time. I spent 26 years making these habits, a 2 week diet isn't going to reverse that. Acknowledge your feelings, fall down, get back up. It will get easier!

I think I have a little more sympathy for the posters who seem to be asking for validation for their bad choices. They know they've screwed up, but they need to feel like they are not the only ones in the world who ever blew it. They aren't really looking for permission, they just want to connect with fellow travelers. This doesn't mean that they don't need to hear the truth, it just means that we should just share our truth without sharing our impatience.

I like the idea of licking a dorito. I might try that technique with a pizza and a beer.

My hubby frantically searching the house for me at 6 am because he didn't see my smaller body under the blankets. He had been up for an hour and panicked because he never seen me come downstairs. Made me giggle! ????

    Hi there Dream125,
My husband just told me today thar he had a customer come in to his store who just had the band to sleeve done 6 weeks ago who said it was such a big difference. He already lost 50lbs! Best wishes to you on achieving your dream! Sounds like you're headed in the right direction! To support me as well as get healthy himself, my husband is going to refill his band and give it another shot since he has no other options. Maybe since we'll be doing it together it will work better for him this time. He lost about 50lbs total 7 years ago but then never went to get it adjusted and just gained it all back.
    Haha! My feelings exactly!

    You will be fine.
One thing that helped me was that I made a commitment to myself to do everything I was asked to do. They truly have your best interests at heart in seeing that you have the best outcome.
