  1. Sadly the hair loss is what it is. Yes, Biotin will help the regrowth to possibly grow faster but not guaranteed. The stretch marks I consider a reminder of how I will never go back to the weight I was. I do plan on plastics at some point so who knows where they will end up lol. And, yeah, the girls, ugh is all I am going to say.
  2. 9 months out here and consistently 1200 per day but I also go to the gym 4-5 days a week with minimum one hour of cardio.
  3. @@CL~ATL, I was sleeved as an outpatient also. Surgery for sleeve and a hernia repair at 7:30 am and I was home by 1:30. I had my husband with me but I really didn't need him to do anything. I was on pain meds but up and around the house in small doses same day. I think it all depends on your surgeon, mine was also from a center of excellence. It also depends on you and how fast you tend to bounce back. The pain was truly minimal for me but I am pretty tough. I am also in Atlanta if you would like to message privately.
  4. Unfortunately the question of how many grams of Protein can be absorbed at once is already obsolete. The hteory that the body cannot absorb more than 30g at a time has been disproved.
  5. Only took pain meds for 3 days after surgery. Tapered off over those 3 days and done. The more you move the better, just take it slow and easy when getting up and down.
  6. That will change so hang in there. As you heal you will be able to eat more. Focus on quality and not quantity. Measure your food but don't stress if you cannot finish it all. Relax and breathe. You've got this!
  7. I know we are all different, BUT... For those with 170+ to lose with the sleeve, how long did it take to lose it? Just trying to get an average. Thanks for the info!
  8. Your thought process is on target with getting the Water in (using Mio is fine). Exercise is great, get up and get moving. Don't rely on eating til full, measure everything!! Weight will fluctuate from time to time so don't get hung up on the numbers, stick to the plan. Good luck!
  9. Dropping multiple sizes would indicate loss even if not in pounds. Inches lost are still a victory and progress. Watch that you are not eating too little as stated before. Protein is key, it keeps us full longer and it repairs and builds muscle. At times for me the inches change then the pounds will go. Sometimes it happens together, sometimes not. As long as progress is happening hang in there!
  10. Okay, the misconception here may be that it ISN"T easy. Your surgery is just a tool. There are many more things you have to do. Agree with @@JamieLogical, how much Protein are you doing, how much Water are you drinking and how much exercise are you getting? How much have you lost so far? Are you tracking everything from food to exercise?
  11. Congrats on making the toughest decision so far...taking your health into your own hands. Follow th eplan and you will be fine. Nothing to be scared of. I am 8 months out and 106 pounds down so far. This literally will change your life. You may just find that you have different feelings about the extra weight once it is gone. Good luck and stay vocal here. There are lots of folks here to help!
  12. Congrats! You are almost on your way and it will be here before you know it!
  13. Vitamin Water zero. Powerade zero, Mio drops in water (my fave is rasperry/cranberry)
  14. @@Margie122, I am also going to win. Already bought my tickets but will gladly share the win with you!
  15. Is the vomiting from eating too fast? Make sure to eat slowly and chew really well. Protein first then veggies. Quinoa and leafy vegetables would be hard to digest at this point.
  16. Thank you for sharing your amazing story, it is a reminder to all of us the journeys we all are on. Sorry to hear you had a rough go at first but you look amazing and happy!
  17. Depends on your surgical team. They should give you a copy of your plan. If you wish to know now contact them for a copy. There are as many plans as there are offices.
  18. they still make those?? torture devices I tell ya
  19. I did my research prior to consult and wanted the sleeve. I didn't want the malabsorption of Vitamins and just wanted the stomach portion removed permanently. My surgeon asked what I wanted and he agreed the sleeve was best. It has worked wonderfully so far! No matter the opinions you get, do what is right for you.
  20. As everyone said the stall(s) will happen, take your measurements once a month so you see the progress even when the scale doesn't move the inches will! Take pictures! Write in a journal so you can look back at where you came from. All the above are great advice! Welcome!!!!!!
  21. I only do a Protein shake for Breakfast for convenience. I get the rest of my protein from foods.
  22. sugar free pudding mousse? I just try to stay away from Desserts period for myself. maybe a sugar free pudding with sugar free cool whip pie? Good luck!
  23. Some of that may be stress eating. Try to stay busy and just eat or drink on schedule. Good luck and fingers crossed!
  24. It is normal to have jitters, I did. I agree that you should find things to do that keep you busy. Make sure everything is in place so you are not stressed about household things after surgery and you can relax and recuperate. That's the thing about Christmas, it WILL come around next year too. Don't worry about what you can't have but focus on what you are giving yourself. Enjoy your family and have great conversations not centered around food. Sit back and truly take it all in and be thankful for the best Christmas present ever. Good luck!!
  25. What a lovely post and so timely for me. I was at my husbands office party this past saturday. I have been overweight my whole life and at 103 pounds down I am struggling to see my weight loss. They had a photo booth and we took a photo together (you get a printed strip of 3 poses). I could see that I looked different but it was when some of his co-workers wanted a group shot that I got a shock. I was smaller than some of the women in the photo. I have noticed I fit places where I didn't before. I have seen my sizes of clothing change. I notice that people treat me differently. I notice that I no longer get "the look". I could go on and on, but the physical vision of myself in the mirror remains the fat girl. Congrats on your epiphany and than you for sharing, this really hit home for me!
