Good for you! I am day 6 post-op and finally have lost the fluid weight and a couple more too. Today and tomorrow left on clear liquids then onto full liquids. Yay!

Yay! Sounds like you are progressing well. Are you able to get all your fluid and protein in at this point?

Don't forget -- Cream of Wheat (non-instant) with added protein powder -- is the best early soft food I enjoyed....

5 days out and still can't get enough fluids in! Just don't want them :-(

I have struggled as well...at 40 ounces a day and climbing...really have to push fluids. I think the swelling of the surgery makes it difficult at first. I spoke to my NUT yesterday and she said its normal and to keep pushing.

Peaches...I only wanted to drink water right after the surgery. Everyone told me not to use a straw, but I find I can get more liquids down with the straw. It does not seem to gas me up, thankfully! Keep a cup of water close and sip during commercials.

Hang in there. In a few days it will all be in the past. I can't wait to be on the post op side. GeT past all this bundle of nerves.

You poor thing. As Jane13 said though, you're not entirely alone - though I can only imagine how unnerved you must be to be physically alone at this point. Let us know if you need anything.
