Went to buy some new clothes since I looked like a ghost floating around old rags, and I was amazed I could fit in sweat shirts/shirts and jeans that looked ridiculously tiny to me. Kinda nice!

You have energy oozing out of you! I'm always wanting to be on the go! I can't stand to be stagnant. I don't hear myself making comments like "my knee hurts or I have plantar fasciitis" anymore. Because frankly nothing is hurting anymore and I can run up and down the stairs. Also hike and workout without dreading the aches and pains.

I love seeing all the different ways, The changes make themselves known.And it feels amazing I love seeing all the good things..... I think about a couple of weeks ago... I noticed I have neck, collar bones... I haven't seen those since I had my first child ....

My husband couldn't find me in a group of people because he said he didn't recognize me (ok, he eventually found me, but it took him a while!).

You are at the same intersection as your ex and he doesn't recognize you!!!! [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

Everything hurts all the time. My joints, my back, and my feet ache on the daily. Between sleep apnea and GERD I am afraid the next malady will be a heart attack or something else related to my poor physical condition. I'm afraid to die and leave my family alone to grieve over a stupid death that might have been avoided with better health. I only get this one life. I don't want to miss any of it.

Finding out that I had a fatty liver, and I'm facing cirrhosis even though I'm a teetotaler. I've not been able to keep up with my husband and our dogs, and I'm constantly fatigued and sore from carrying around the extra weight. My endocrinologist and my hepatologist both are heavily pushing surgery, and I can't keep weight off on my own at this point. I want to be able to be healthy and stick around long enough to have a long and happy life with my husband. Considering the surgery hasn't been a light decision for me, but pursuing it can save my life.

In addition to all the things that had been building up for years, I had three things that happened in rapid succession that made me decide that this is the choice I needed to make.
1. Diagnosed with auto-immune arthritis.
2. Had to leave my dream career (ER nurse) only a couple of years in because of a combination of overweight, out of shape, and the arthritis.
3. Topped 300 lbs (that had always been my "I'll never let myself get that fat" weight)
Since the auto-immune affects so many things, I asked my rheumatologist what she thought, and she said I should do it without hesitation. That was the confirmation for me. Then my rheumy referred me to someone within her clinic group and I really liked her, so I'm now doing the insurance hoop dance. Targeted surgery date early August.

The last few times when I flew, I needed a seat belt extender. I hate that. The last time, I hit the flight assistant button as people were boarding and she brought me an extender without even asking what I needed. I looked at my husband and he looked at me and I was so ashamed and felt horrible. Enough is enough. I made an appointment that week to start looking into WLS and now I'm starting all the pre-op apps and tests.

Yes! I pick up a dress in my size and look at it and think there is no way I can squeeze into that! And then I step in and do up the zip with ease. So surreal.

I used my whirlpool tub last night for the first time since loosing weight. I couldn't believe how much bigger it felt. Felt more like a swimming pool.

@@Dub yes! that is great! and great for the doggies too. I found the chairs where I have a pedicure to have grown the last time I was there. everything is so much more comfortable.

When you find the chairs at your parents house have grown since you last sat in them.....and their dogs have room to join you....

When you return home to your own home and your own dogs have room to join you in your char that's grown some, too....

Furniture everywhere seems to be getting bigger and bigger. Strange phenomenon. Strange but cool.
I like strange.

I get to try the airplane seatbelt next week!! Can't wait to see the difference. Can't wait to not need the seatbelt extender!

The pants you are buying look to SMALL. So you go out to the car & pull down your pants to see what size you are wearing. The are the same size.

When you don't have to turn sideways through turnstiles anymore...
When people insist you did something different to your hair and you haven't...
When the plane seatbelt fits again!! Yay!

When my favorite uncle tells me I'm unrecognizable now. He sees me every few months.

- When you're in the local supermarket, just minding your own business, when, at the far end of the aisle, a PT from the gym you used to go to walks past, looks you right in the eye, then keeps going, only to do a MASSIVE double-take, comeback and stand in the middle of the far end of the aforementioned aisle, and yell -
"WHAT THE F*CK??!?! HAVE A LOOK AT YOU!!!"
Happened today..

You can do up a pair of high heels with a side ankle buckle without completely losing it and shouting to anyone who is within hearing range that shoe designers are s**t!!!!! Anything to take the blame away from the mound of useless flab that is getting in the way and scuppering the whole operation! Yay!!!!!!!
