  1. sounds pretty intense--give me another 30-40lbs down first--not sure I can handle it yet:) I am sure I will starting needing the intensity as I get closer to goal--and this will definitely bear more checking into then shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 274/230/125-150 3 fills Dr. McKeen currently 2.4cc in a 4cc capacity 9.75ml inamed band
  2. if you don't have enough restriction--get another fill. I only lost a total of 3lbs after my first fill--I didn't have enough restriction--and I waited 2 months for a second one--it didn't help--just frustrated me more. I got some real restriction with me second fill--and have lost happily more weight--but I went in for a 3rd fill yesterdy (about 5 weeks after my 2nd) because I felt I could benefit from a little more tightness before the holidays to help me keep from slipping up. I have only ever pb'd once (early on) and I am very happy with my fill level now---this is about YOUR journey---if you are hungry too much, eating the right things, and not losing 1-2lbs aweek--GET A FILL--its worth your time:) shrina 7/12/05 dr. kuri 274/230/125-150 3 fills dr. Mckeen 2.4cc in a 4cc capacity 9.75ml inamed band
  3. congrats on your decision--sorry I can't help with the docs there....I had surgery by Dr. Kuri in Tijuana. ---good luck on your journey--you are worth it! shrina 7/12/05 dr. Kuri 274/230/125-150 3 fills dr. mckeen currently 2.4cc in a 4cc capacity 9.75ml inamed band
  4. hey there! I live in Vallejo, and was banded by dr. Kuri July 12th--there are some other support groups on yahoo too. I even started one--still small yet when I first got banded because I couldn't find anything in northern california--turns out they are there--just harder to find than all the socal ones. anyhow--love to chat with ya anytime-- shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 274/230/125-150 fills: Dr. McKeen (san jose) 3 --2.4cc current total in a 4cc capacity 9.75ml inamed band
  5. how did your first fill go??? shrina
  6. I just saw your post for the first time--but I gotta tell you are not alone--I went through the same thing with gaining a lot of it back--grrr. The good news on that is--after your fill--you should get *some* restriction--depending on you and how aggressive your doc is. I finally have restriction--and it does come off---you CAN do this---as far as what the nurse said---I have one thing to say to that pbbtthhhhhhh (rasberry here) I am about 4 months out--and 45 lbs down since my pre-band diet (that is losing most after the 2nd fill (only 3 lbs on the first fill) and still moving down---anyhow--you are NOT alone by any means shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 274/230/125-150 3 fills Dr. McKeen currently 2.4cc in a 4cc capacity 9.75ml inamed band
  7. its not as hard to do liquids post op--especially while there is still swelling --liquids is about all you can handle for a while shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 272/230/125-150
  8. depending on your doc--if you call them--they can tell you what you can supplement with if you just can't make it liquids--I was on it for 12 days (supposed to be 14 but I had some kind of mental block or something that the instant I told myself 'not allowed' I ate every carb in sight) I called my facilitator and got a handle on it by eating some high protein chicken if I just couldn't handle liquids--or a chunk of cheddar cheese--other than that--I stuck with the atkins shakes (ewww) and all the no calorie drinks I could handle. best wishes shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 272/230/125-150
  9. Congrats!!!! as I have seen on another site I read daily--the band is a fickle b****!! But then, we all have our mood swings now, don't we--lol shrina 7/12/05 272/230/125-150
  10. Wow--you have some terrific loss going on there girl. Congrats on your journey into bandlandia:) shrina 7/12/05 272/230/125-150
  11. mine was mood swings--depression, ok, bandster 'rage'--at one point I remember seriously considering trying to dump my hubby out the 2nd floor bedroom window when he made a comment about what I ate (this is post swelling from surgery--pre-1st fill)---I locked myself in my room and refused to come out for close to 2 days--because I was soo moody. You are really not alone. shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 272/230/125-150
  12. CONGRATULATIONS! How are you feeling? shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 272/230/125-150 1st fill Dr. McKeen 1.5cc 8/26/05 2nd Fill Dr. McKeen .5cc 10/06/05 (2.0cc in a 4cc capacity band) 3rd fill scheduled tomorrow
  13. I actually opted for the band in the middle of trying--because I was told that losing some of the excess would up the chances--now I am on my band journey and still not preggers yet--but have 44 less lbs of me to worry about while we try. I am happily losing weight and not worrying about it all so much--frankly--I am really glad I didn't wait--because the more I weighed--the more depressed I got--and the less I would have been able to do for/with my other two little ones and any new one(s) I wanted to have. May you choose what makes you healthiest and happiest--all the best shrina 7/12/05 272/230/125-150 (maybe with a break in there somewhere--lol for baby?)
  14. hi there--new here, but there are local docs who will fill mexican band patients--in fact whoever you go to will (my doc did) probably have a list of local fill docs for you should you decide you don't want to go back to MX everytime you need a fill. just my 2 cents---shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri, Tijuana 272/230/125-150 1st fill Dr. McKeen (San Jose) 1.5cc 2nd Fill Dr. McKeen (San Jose) .5cc (total current fill 2.0cc in a 4cc capacity band) 3rd fill scheduled tomorrow
  15. anyone in Vallejo area? I get my fills in San Jose, and I am willing to travel there for support groups too--or anywhere in the north bay SF area basically. I am a member of several online support groups--but I really want to get the up front support of some others who have been and are going through the same things I am. My hubby really tries--but since he has never been here......most of you know what I mean, I am sure. shrina 7/12/05 Dr. Kuri 272/230/125-150 1st Fill Dr. McKeen 8/26/05 1.5cc 2nd fill Dr. McKeen 10/06/05 .5cc (2.0 current in a 4cc capacity band) 3rd fill scheduled for tomorrow--yeah!!!!!!!!
  16. Hi--is it jsut me--ir is it really hard to find northern california people on any boards--I know we are out there---help--I really want to be able to get together 'locally' for support group with other bandsters--any ideas? shrina dr. Kuri 7/12/05 274/244/125 225 mini-goal
