  1. Today is the day!! I have struggled for 13 years, I have prayed and prayed for God to help me and I believe that the sleeve has been His answer. Thank you everyone for all of your vulnerability on this site. I have learned more from you than from anyone. What an answer to prayer this has been. No nerves yet, just pure excitement. Talk to you on the other side! ????????????????????????

    Today is the day!

Hi there! I am doing a good bit better. 8 days post op now and I have that feeling of pain or lump in my throat after only a few sips but I am able to get all my liquids and protein in now. For the last few days I have done everything they said to do. Everyday I feel a bit better but it has not been fun. I liken this to giving birth and the week after. Total shock on my body. Thanks for checking on me.

Christian sleevers any the just had...

????????????????????????????????????????thank you thank you thank you! I love this thread! I am a Christian that has prayed and asked God for years to help me with my weight. It has been close to 13 years now, I felt God was silent on this matter and that it was just something I had to bear. A few months ago, I private messages an old friend from my childhood church who had lost a lot of weight and asked her how she did it. She said it was the sleeve. I then went to work that morning and not two hours later met a woman who was about to have the sleeve and I was able to hear all about it from her. I took that as a sign from God about it and I have had a ton of peace. Even typing this gives me peace in my current nauseous situation. I believe this was an answer to prayer. I praise God for it, need to remember this when I get discouraged. He is in the small stuff in life too, not just the big things and he loves us so much. So glad I found you fellow Christ followers. Praise God! ????????

    Today is the day!

Yay!!!! I'm so glad the anti nausea meds are helping. I hope you continue to feel better! @mini-me007 I am wondering if you had the sleeve, did you feel pressure/pain like a gas bubble or the need to burp every single time you drank even 1 ounce? I am wondering if it is normal. My biggest complaint so far is that only once ounce is kinda painful still, I tried all day not to take my pain pills due to constipation but by the evening I really needed them and felt so much better. Today is day 4 day post op (surgery Monday, today is Friday) let me know if you had any similar experiences. Thank you!!!

    this is really real!

I am the same surgery day and have the same exact emotions. I feel like I am breaking up with food and super sad. I am ridiculous.Since we had it the same day, how are you doing? Feeling? What has been your hardest part so far. I am having a hard time swallowing down anything. I am liquids in, not all of them but some but man is it hard.hi NJ mom! I wish I could tell you how it was - I checked in and got prepped - when the anesthesiologist came to see me and check me over he sent me home! I'd been at the shore for several days and had a sore throat - I thought it was nothing, but it looked bad to him - plus the fact that I was running a low-grade fever. So no go - which I think was probably for the best. Back on the books for early october. I hope that you are comfortable and recovering well!Oh I am so sorry to hear that! I had mine on Monday and I am shocked how hard it has been. I have been very nauseous every day and every single time I try to drink anything. It is so hard to reach my liquid intake amount. Today was better than yesterday and tomorrow will be better than today, I have to keep positive. We can stay in touch for when you have it in October and maybe by then I will be encouraged and can encourage you. Right now I have been a bit down but I can see I will start to round the corner soon.
  6. Did you say you haven't been able to poop and it has been 20 days since surgery?!?! I hope I am reading that wrong. You need to call the dr right away if that is the case. ????????????????

  8. All that sounds great! Your rules from your surgeon sound just like mine. I used University of Penn, Dr Schurict. I love him. I thanked him post op for changing my life and he said "it's only been one day!" But really he has changed my life for me and I eternally grateful. I can't wait to eat fish!!! I love fish and shrimp and by the way, my nut told me that you don't have drink all the protein shakes once you start eating protein, you just have to do the math, so if you eat salmon or tilapia calculate the amount in that and say eggs if ate them, then you only have to drink what's left of the grams of protein you need.

    Today is the day!

Thank you! My hubby called the dr and she ordered me meds for the nausea. I have been taking that. Still so hard to get anything in me without feeling like I may throw it up, but today is better than yesterday. As long as this is normal than I am ok. Love this site, it has helped me so much!!!!!
  10. I had my bypass ten days ago and I honestly haven't felt much of the fullness everyone keeps talking about. I get in 64 oz of water every day pretty easily, if slowly. I started pureed foods today and I got nauseous for the first time since surgery. Some people are saying they get super full after like an ounce of water. That just doesn't happen for me, and on top of that I do actually still feel hunger and cravings. I wonder if something is wrong with me. :/@@Cervidae, you mentioned you had a bypass? I wonder if most people on here that you are reading about had the sleeve. I know for me having the sleeve sounds different than my friend that had the bypass. That could be why you don't feel full after one ounce. I cannot drink anymore than once ounce in a sitting, or I almost puke. I actually think this thread was under a sleeve heading. Maybe check out with the bypassers what their experience is. Just a thought. I doubt something is wrong it's probably just different. Hope that helps. Good luck, let us know how you are ok?

    Today is the day!

So I am still vet nauseous, wondering if anyone can tell me when that goes away? Every single time I drink 1 ounce I feel like I could throw it back up again. I have yet to actually get sick but I am very close to it all the time. Does it usually go away by day 5 or so?
  12. Thank you both so much. That made me feel so much better! Popsicles it is then.
  13. Hey guys!! I had surgery on August 24th. So today is 2 day post op. I am shocked, literally shocked how hard it is to drink water. I am drinking my protein shakes and they seem to go down better. But I have bubbles in my throat from only 1 oz of water. Anyone else have this from such little water.
  14. Can someone help me? I am 2 days post op (today is Wednesday had surgery on Monday) and every time I drink I feel bubbles, nausea and like I have a lump in my throat. I mean I drink little ounce and I feel sick. Is this normal? If so, how long does this last?

    Today is the day!

Well I am back home, I cannot believe that it has finally come and I got approved, have an excellent surgeon and I feel a lot better than yesterday. I am having a very hard time getting my liquids in. They make me nauseous but I am trying. Hopefully tomorrow it will be easier.
  17. I also am enjoying your sleeve journey, I get sleeved tomorrow, I can't wait! I went from scare to excited and now thrilled!!! Thank you for sharing, I live in south jersey and my kids are still home for summer break and my hubby took off for the upcoming week. I have a vision of all of us going to the lighthouse in Barnegate and walking the trails there on Friday after my surgery. It's my goal to walk everyday, enough to take a day and do that! You have given me hope, so thank you!

Where are all the august people

Thank you both for your input, I agree with the risks outweighing (no pun intended hehe) the alternative of my weight for a lifetime. I love that you, sshelssea, are two weeks out and are happy you did it. Thank you for that. It seems I don't find many, if any regrets of sleevers and my nerves are getting the best of me. I have prayed about it and feel a little excited now along with nervous. I just have to make it through tomorrow morning.

Where are all the august people

My surgery is in 2 days and I am getting cold feet. This is my first post, wondering if anyone that had surgery in August still posts here to tell me they had cold feet too. I saw an awful story on YouTube about a bad sleeve result and a very sick woman. Scared me enough to reconsider. Now I am just scared long term, like 3 or 8 or eve 15 years down the road. Anyone else feel this way?

    I got my date ! August 25.

Wow, you are fortunate, my surgeons office won't give me a date until i get approval from the insurance company.
  24. I am wondering how you are doing now that it is a few days post op. I am hoping to have mine done in August so I am reading as much as I can. Your last update said 3 days post op. How are you now, eating any better? toast yet?
