Vomiting even after 14mo post Surgery?
Contact your PCP, this is not normal.

No period?!
"No period?!" At first I thought you meant the punctuation mark, so I was going to tell you to look between the "," and "/" keys on your keyboard. I can't help you from personal experience due to genetics, but maybe it has something to do with your hormone levels readjusting due to the weight loss?

Swallowed a pit
Don't worry, as they say: "This too, shall pass".

Are "Food Funerals" normal/okay?
No. Those foods did not die and they will not be gone forever.

I'm vomiting and can't keep anything down — Help!
I agree with Thelma (Bufflehead); contact your doctor. It may be nothing serious, but they have the medical experience to make that judgment. Hope you feel better soon. Keep us posted.

Where are all the Canadians ?
"Where are all the Canadians ?" Unless they are on vacation abroad, I would say they are in Canada. -That was an easy answer.

Food portion control?
Divide the meal in half or jusr eat up to a line you made at the half (depending upon the size of the portion) or ask for a container to bring the half home when you are served your meal. Don't worry about what others think. If they are snarky about it, they are not your friend.

Thai Monks
Thank you for clarifying this. I was unaware there was a difference. "...Rubbing his belly for luck". Damn, if I knew this when I was at my peak obesity weight, I could have charged people to rub my belly for luck and made a few bucks.

Thai Monks
That explains a lot. I thought it was due to Buddha having a slow metabolism. (Not intended to be insulting to people who practice Buddhism)

Disgusted by meat?
Is it the taste or that the more dense Proteins (non-ground meats, pork, etc.) are a little harder to digest? Maybe you can cook them in a crock pot to soften them up?

Burst out crying prepping my first soft food
No I didn't cry, but you must make some really damn good eggs. There are hormonal changes going on and personal issues (your obese life leading up to this, concerns about your life post WLS, etc.). This is normal. Everything is going to work out for the best and you will be one of the many WLS success stories. Stay positive, you CAN and WILL succeed. Think of all of the positive health aspects and NSVs that will happen as you lose your excess body weight.

Anyone else having trouble drinking coffee?
Are you drinking decaf or regular coffee? If you are drinking regular tea, then it probably isn't due to the caffeine. Coffee can be a little acidic, they do make a "low acid" coffee. Maybe that might work for you. Also, keep in mind if it is due to caffeine, many teas and other beverages contain caffeine too.

Shoe size
My husband has always referred to my feet as Hobbit feet. I refer to them as Sasquatch feet; size and hairs, lol Ladies, I hope this didn't happen to both of you.

My body thinks it's funny!
Measure your weight after going to the bathroom, while fully undressed and wearing no jewelry. (This isn't a fetish of mine, I just want to see you reach 199.9 lbs or less today. ) Keep up the great work.

Soup
In the puree phase, try homemade soups and blend them down if necessary. I liked making a homemade gazpacho soup and making it a little spicy.

Did Anyone Start Eating Solid Food Before They Should?
Follow your surgeon's recommendations.

Straws!
DON'T USE STRAWS! You might cause a partial vacuum while sipping and be sucked right through the straw when you stop and drown in your drink! I read this on the internet, so it must be true.

Chicken
Try cooking the chicken in a crock pot or make a small tinfoil tent with some water or chicken broth and bake it in the oven to keep it moist.

What would you do?
Does your cousin have a medical background? If not, they may be over reacting. That is a legitimate concern, but in the case of your Uncle, a first and second WLS surgeon's, cardiologist & PCP's opinions and medical diagnostic tests should show if he is able to have this surgery. He should try to lose as much weight as he can prior to the surgery, it will lower the chance of a complication. I don't have statistics, but the risk of dying from a comorbidity of obesity at his age may exceed the risk of the surgery.

Ah! Penny! Why?!?!?(My 600 lb life)
I haven't watched this show. Do they continue to work with the people, having them meet with nutritionists, PCPs, psychologists (if necessary), etc., long after their "usefulness" is over (they are no longer on the series)?
