    Could I REALLY be PREGNANT!?

    Thank y'all!
  2. I had gastric sleeve surgery in April of 2016. I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 16 and was told having kids was extremely unlikely. My periods were never regular, not even close, even on birth control so I stopped taking it a few years ago because trying to get a regular period was my only need for it. Fast forward to Dec. 2016. I've lost over 100 pounds, so my gynecologist took me off of my Metformin. My periods regulated themselves starting in February, due to my weight loss. Since then I have had a regular period every single month, so a little over 6-7 months of regular periods. Until this month. As of today I am 6 days late, and I was sexually active without protection during my ovulation days according to my period tracker. I am so used to not having to think twice about being late that the possibility that I may indeed be pregnant just doesn't seem real. But, I've gotten used to starting my period on the exact right day for the past 7 months so I'm conflicted. I've spent the last 11 years being told having a baby wasn't going to happen. I took a pregnancy test at 3 days late (it took every ounce of courage I have to take that test) and it was negative, which I fully expected because Lord knows I've never seen a positive one and fear that maybe I never will. Yet, I still haven't started my period and don't really have any signs that I'm going to. I'm trying to not get my hopes up, so I'm trying to just wait things out. Maybe my period will show up...and I'll have my answer. Am I crazy for thinking maybe I am pregnant? I feel crazy for letting myself think that. My cycle could just be messed up again due to stress or many other reasons...Should I test again at a later date or save myself the heartache and wait it out? Any input is appreciated.
  3. I was able to eat a WHOLE sausage egg and cheese McGriddle in one sitting (I know it's not the least bit healthy of a food choice, that's not the point of this post). I'm 5 1/2 months out from surgery. I know I shouldn't be able to eat that much. Does anyone else feel that they can eat too much? How much were/are y'all eating at 6 months post op?? I'm going to start measuring everything again since I know I can eat more than I probably should now Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  4. I just thought I'd mention a couple of things that frustrate me post-op. Feel free to add if you have examples of your own. I'm sure someone somewhere can relate. 1. When you eat something that turns out to be way less than satisfying or even borderline gross, but you're out of space to try something different. 2. When friends/family watch you eat because they're waiting to see just how much you can eat. 3. When the same person asks you nearly every day if you've lost any more weight as if it happens overnight, every night. 4. When people apologize for eating in front of you or avoid eating in front of you, even after you tell them it does not bother you at all several times. I could go on but I'll stop here. 5. So far I've lost 37.8 pounds total. I'm happy with my progress so far and am excited to keep on going. I can tell I've lost in my face and fingers. I'll take it! Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  6. I'm trying to come up with a workout schedule. I go Monday-Saturday and rest on Sunday. I want my main focus to be cardio of course because I'm only 5 weeks out and am in weight loss mode, but I also want to focus on strength training to tone my body. Can you guys share your workout schedules? For example, Sun-rest, Mon-cardio, Tuesday-Arms/core, etc. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    It's frustrating when...

I had to add one more that I just remembered. I'm 5 weeks post op and already I've had so many people say, "Now you can find you a man!" Um...me being overweight has nothing to do with me being single. I've had more men than I can count show interest in me, morbidly obese and all. For people to assume that I'm single because I'm fat and my surgery is the answer to my single problems is beyond ridiculous. Okay, I'm really done now lol. Day 2 post op

Yes! It gets so much easier. You're still swollen and have lots of gas trapped in your abdomen/chest. Trust me, it gets back to normal in a week or so. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    That 3 week stall tho!

I've read about the notorious "3 week stall" and for some reason I always thought, "Oh come on. If you're doing everything the same in weeks 1,2,4,5,6, why would week 3 be any different?" Welp. I stand corrected. I am officially a victim of this 3 week stall I've been hearing so much about. It sucks, because I worked out 5 days this week and tried my best to overcome the statistics. I even gained a pound Hopefully next week is better! Thinking of doing away with my scale...
  14. I'm 3 weeks post op and am able to eat some soft foods. I'm a picky eater and am having a hard time thinking of things to eat besides eggs, bananas, etc. Any ideas? Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

Yes you will get through it and probably have a good weight loss when you do break it. I had my surgery in Jan and I have had 3 stalls all ready. This last one lasted 2 weeks and then I dropped 12 pounds in the next 2 weeks. This is a fantastic thread called Embrace the Stall http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/351046-embrace-the-stall/page-13?hl=+embrace++the++stall#entry4154431

    Sipping while exercising?

I'm post op 3 weeks on Monday and I am able to take normal drinks. I can't chug, but I can take a normal sized "gulp". It may not be that much of an issue for you, I'm sure it varies person to person. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    April sleevers

April 18th! Can I have the link as well? Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  20. Yesterday was the first day I was allowed to eat anything remotely solid. Still have to wait for the real good stuff, so I grabbed a banana and put some Peanut Butter on top. It was maybe a 6 inch banana. I was able to eat the whole thing....I've seen people on here say they can barely eat a 1/4 cup of food! Yet here I am eating whole bananas, no problem. Just makes me worry that I may be able to eat more than I should. Of course I know compared to the amount I was eating before, a banana is almost nothing. Yet, here I am, worried Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
  21. Finally stopped vomiting. Gas pains are rough, feels like my stomach/chest may explode at times. Struggling to get in my water/protein but I'm doing my best. I've had zero appetite. Feeling pretty sore, but a little better than I have been. I'm ready to feel "normal" again.

    3 days since surgery

How are you now? I'm day 9 and wanting to feel normal too. Sent from my SM-N900V using the BariatricPal App As far as the gas pains, they are gone. I'm pretty easily able to get in my Water and Protein. Monday I get to introduce bananas, applesauce and Peanut Butter to my diet. So far I've stuck with just liquids. I am having a bad pain in my left rib when I breathe in but I'm not sure it's related. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    Tenderness/pains

I'm experiencing the same thing in the same area. I was sleeved on 4/18. My doc said that since that is the incision where they take out the stomach, they do a LOT more internal sutures than anywhere else. Some are right under the surface of the skin and sometimes if I turn too quickly or a certain way I can feel a pulling pain in that area. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App

    Any April 18 sleevers?

  25. I'm on a 2 week liquid diet, 5 shakes a day. I am so used to eating a LOT. I'm on day 2 and all I can think about is tacos. I knew this wasn't going to be easy. But shoo! This is ROUGH. I'm trying to stay focused on my goal. I don't want to let some delicious tacos get in my way. Sent from my LGLS990 using the BariatricPal App
