Gerd
Do you remember how it was fixed? Now I am wondering if they will fix it or convert me to the bypass. I still have terrible heartburn.

The nurse called my sleeve has a balloon at the end. Has anyone heard of this? I am going April 30 for an Endoscopy.

Upper GI found something
I had the Sleeve in 2015. I have been having issues with acid reflux and muscle cramping in my stomach. I was working on each issue separately but I decided to get an upper GI because I have been considering converting to the bypass to fix the reflux. When they did the GI they saw something they didn't recognize. It looks like a half deflated balloon above my stomach. It could be the thing that is coming out of stomach and causing my pain. Does anyone know what this could be? Fixing my reflux may now be on the back burner.

They found something on my upper GI series. It looks like a half filled balloon above my stomach. Any idea what it could be?

I haven't had any testing since 2015 prior to my sleeve. I need everything to fit in this deductible year. I can understand paying money for a procedure and it was for nothing. I had a tummy tuck last year and that is why I didn't say yes to the Bypass the first time. My reflux is worse so now my health needs to come before vanity. Good luck tomorrow. You will be in my thoughts.

That gives me hope. Thank you

That is incredible. I am so sorry no one should be treated like that. I don't know what gives them the right to treat us like that. My doctor wouldn't even let me talk. Every time I opened my mouth he said I was making an excuse for eating wrong. I will eat drink anything I can for relief.

Happy early birthday. My birthday is the 17th. I am so nervous that I am going to have the same thing all over again. Did you have to have an Endoscopy for before the procedure for the approval? I haven't had one since 2015. I am so happy for you. I heard the bypass fixes it right away. All the acid reducers are starting to make me feel sick to my stomach.

I now take 40 mg of Omeprozole up from 20 mg and 300 mg of Zantac.

You are telling my story. I am switching to another doctor and my appointment is Apr 29. I am so upset he was such a jerk last Monday to me.

Prilosec and Zantac
I live in Massachusetts but I am definitely going to get a second opinion

Prilosec and Zantac
I am not sure what to do. I experience lots of acid reflux and have been taking Prilosec everyday with no relief. I saw my surgeon today and he tripled the dose. He is scheduling an Endoscopy but if I am taking 4 pills a day how will I get accurate results. When I tried to talk to him. He said don't you trust me? Last year he was ready to convert to a bypass and this year he increases the PPIs. I don't want to be on them forever due to the long term side effects. What would you do?
-
Gerd
I am not sure what to think. He is loading me up with prilosec and zantac. I am going for 2 tests but he is blaming me for my issue. I am beside myself. He told me I am not eating to help my acid reflux.

Take it off! Take it off! Take it aaaaallll off!
I had the fleur di lis last year. I used a cane for weeks because you will not be able to stand up straight and your back will hurt. I slept in a chair for about a month. I bought a shower chair Also get super max pads and surgical tape for the leaks. It is a surreal feeling after you heal. My stomach is flat and it feels amazing. Where are you going?

Revision-tufts
When I went last year they said they would convert it to the bypass. I told my primary at my physical but my bariatric surgeon is the only other doctor I have told. My primary told me to keep taking the prilosec. Thank you for wishing me luck.

Revision-tufts
Does any know the criteria for Tufts for a revision from sleeve to bypass? I suffer from terrible reflux and need some relief. The medication doesn't work anymore. I do not fit the BMI and I don't have diabetes, sleep apnea or cardiovascular issues. Thank you

I am so afraid of cancer. Right now the reflux is ruining my life. I am eating things that give me relief and they are not on a sleeve diet. How can I find the criteria for a revision? I am upset because me doctor originally was going to do the bypass and never told me it could get worse.

Gerd
I hope your family member is ok. Thank you so much for responding. Did you need to meet the same criteria for the revision? I don't have the comorbidities or weigh enough.

Severe Gerd?
I am 3 years out from surgery and the heartburn is getting alot worse. I have an appointment Monday and I am leaning toward a revision. I hope it gets better for you. I lost the heartburn for probably a year after surgery and now I live on Tums and yogurt to sleep.

Gerd
I had the Gastric Sleeve in 2015 and now my Gerd is alot worse. My surgeon told me last year I could convert to the bypass. I said I was going to think about it. I go for my follow up Monday and I am not sure what to do. Has anyone converted from sleeve to bypass and felt better? Is the recovery easier or the same? My diet is a mess because I am eating things to help the acid that comes up my thoat. I don't know what to do. The medication has side effects and Gerd can cause cancer. Any opinions are appreciated.
