Hi, my name is Susan and 8 years ago I had a Lap Band.  I did well in the beginning losing over 40 lbs.  Over time I had a port revision and developed vomitting and finally had all the fluid removed to rest.  Needless to say, I have gainwed all my weight back plus much more.  I have been so depressed and tried every diet in the book to reloose the weight......nothing.  About a month ago I was diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue and place on Bio-identical hormones and supplements.  I have gained an additional 5 lbs.  Really hate all this!  So, I went back to my Lap Band doctor hoping to refil my band. But we found out that is had a kink in it and was leaking.  She has advised me to have a conversion to Gastric Bypass. I am scared to death about the resurgery.  I do not want to die, I have lots of grandchildren to love and a great caring husband.  If i could just get the weight off, my life would be perfect.  I have become depressed and do not go out of the house mostly at all, so embarassed about my weight.  I am a nusre and feel I should know better.  I can not loose weight no matter what I try and know the Gastric Bypass would benifit me so much..........   Any suggestions for this scared lady??
