    Yesterday March 20th
was day of surgery ...went to the hospital at 5:30 ..surgery was at 8 ..took about 1 1/2 but I was really nauseated afterwards so they kept me until about 2:30 ...all in all it was great !
The gas though was no joke! I had it the worst in my chest ..nothing in the shoulders ..I walked a couple of times in the hospital and then at home as well so it helped ..I also took the GasX strips which were really helpful
I'm taking pain medicine because I'm still sore ..so I've been sleeping a lot (they make me super drowsy ) I have only three incisions ..I was most worried about my liver but there was no fat on it thankfully ( nice and purple! ) lol
I'm having some mucus this morning and am drinking a lot of Water in small doses so I'm sure it'll go away eventually
Anyway, just wanted to give a little update ..now that I'm finally on "the other side " ...I will be doing updates every couple of days or so for all of you newbies ????

Hi, how long did it take from your initial consultation to your EGD(I think thats what its called) to check for Hernia and for them to schedule to actual surgery? Im still waiting for a call back to schedule to check for hernia. Its going on a month now. Happy to hear your getting surgery! Are you going through the sleeve hernia program? Hope to hear from you soon!

Thank you all for the support. I'm doing well and have dropped two pounds I had picked up. Taking things one day at a time and walking my minimum of 5 miles a day with added cardio at least 3 times a week. Been enjoying my Arnold thin sandwich for lunch. Arnold thin bun with mayo, ham, cheese and pickles Once I get filled not taking any chances with the Arnold thin bun. Again, thank you all for your support

Hi there, the links below in my signature really helped me understand the difference between being full and being satisfied. Especially for volume eaters, it's important to know the band isn't there for capacity limitations -- it's really about dimming the appetite. My signals for satiety vary and I have to listen. I have to be in a noticing place -- mindful. Sometimes it's boredom for me. I find I am keeping that bite of food in my mouth a long time and feeling sort of ambivalent. That's my signal that I'm done. Sometimes I will have a sigh. A hiccup for me is a danger signal -- I've eaten too fast and/or too much.

That's how it works for me, too -- finally a process that feels intuitive: eat less, rest the system and have less appetite as opposed to the old days of eat less then be Ravenous and eat everything in sight. But your thought about salt is true as well -- watch out for that sodium! If I'm retaining Water I have a hard time budging the scale.

I don't do any Protein shakes. I am eating solids for 3 meals and one snack a day.
Breakfast can be Cereal (high protein) and milk, or hot Cereal (high protein), or weight watchers smart ones Breakfast sandwich, or egg beaters omelet.
lunch is usually egg, chicken or tuna salad with crackers (wheat thins, melba toast, pita chips). Sometimes I'll have leftover Protein from dinner the night before.
Snack between lunch and dinner (usually 3) is laughing cow baby bell cheese or 100 calorie blue diamond almonds or cottage cheese.< /p>
Dinner is 3-4 oz of protein (93% ground beef, chicken parts or cutlets, pork chops or tenderloin etc) with a veggie and a little carbs. We eat in way more than we eat out.
If Im running and need a quick "meal" on the go I always have a Pure Protein Chewy chocolate Chip or Peanut Butter bar...20 grams of protein for one...low in sugar too.
No eating occurs after dinner...not hungry and not really looking for anything.
Thats what I'm eating these days and it is working for me and I am enjoying what I'm consuming and feeling good!
    Hope that helps.
