  1. How exciting for you!! I went on a cruise with my family to Alaska, you will LOVE it! My dr mentioned my last fill that one of his patients was going on a cruise and she asked to be unfilled a little so she could eat more yummy food. Thrift store idea sounds good..or you could be really tacky and buy something, save the tags and return it.
  2. I had my first PB this weekened. I was eating a grilled chicken wrap in the car with my husband and 3 kids. Well, I must have not chewed the chicken up well enough, because it got stuck. I had to slime/puke in the sonic bag while driving in the car. Wasnt pretty!
  3. Ive been losing pretty steadily, So i guess I cant complain. My dr made a comment about how "Maybe we can shoot for 15 lbs next time i see you" which is in a month. Way to put some pressure on me, doc. I guess I will just have to live with feeling hungry for a few more weeks. Heck, If i can do the preop diet for 14 days, a few more weeks of actually eating arent going to kill me, i guess. I think we get so used to seeing that scale move and when it doesnt, it sure gets me grumpy.
  4. So, Im a cash pay patient and included in the overall price is our first fill. So I went in on Thursday and got filled up with maybe 2cc's. He said he usually goes to 3 on the first fill, but that the gurgling and burping when i was drinking the Water was a good sign i was restricted again. Fast forward to today. Since being filled ive noticed ZERO difference. I can chug water like its nothing. and im starving. Im wondering if i should call the dr's office back and see if i should go back in? He scheduled me to come back in 4 weeks for another fill. Should i ride it out and wait?
  5. I know, one ounce is horribly small. I did it for the first few days and it wasnt sooo bad, but now, im eating maybe 1/4 c per meal. I cant help it, 1 ounce is too small, and until i get my fill, thats what im going to do.
  6. Maybe its all in your butt? seriously, ive lost some and my hubby says its in my butt and hips...
  7. C.N., I can have one ounce meals, three times a day. Boy, hope I dont overeat!!
  8. Steph, I was told to eat only 1 ounce of food at a time. FUn huh?? First, I was told to eat protein, then veggies, then if i guess had room for a 1/4 of an inch of some carbs, then to go for it.
  9. is this an OTC medication?
  10. is this an OTC medication?
  11. The difference is, and the reason why most of the time when i "diet" i fail, You starve that way. I eat, im an overeater. But what the band does, is make it so you cant eat the same amount of food as you would normally do. Simply because your stomach is now small. I can only eat one ounce meals at a time, thats like a shot glass. I can do this 3 times a day. And I have to drink at least 3 qts of Water a day, plus Protein Shakes. Some dr's require a pre-op diet. They all vary, so depending on what your dr says, I would do that. Instead of trying to eat like an already banded person. That would be pure torture.

Wow, Steph!! You're looking Great!!! That 23 lbs is sure noticable! You'll be in a bikini in nooo time!
  13. Roberta, Gf, i know how you feel. I sorta stopped going into our December "Merry Losers" because i got so pissy when i saw post like, "HI, I LOST A MILLION POUNDS IN ONE DAY" barf. I mean, GREAT for them, honestly, but when you're one with a slower weight loss, its frustrating to see. I know that my pounds on the scale are moving slower, but my husband and my mom are for sure noticing inches lost. Soooo..when you dont think that you're losing pounds, keep taking pics of yourself, so you can see the change. And I know how you feel, I was on liquids for 4 weeks. Not FULL liquids, Just clear, including Protein shakes. I know youre frustrated and I can understand this, but you CAN do this, and when in doubt, Drink a Protein shake...it helps me tons. I know you're starving, and also, i dont know what your DR said, but mine didnt give me any restriction on how much liquids i could drink, including Jello. Just to stop when i felt full. And you are losing pounds, i can tell from your before and after pics, its working!
  14. Mine give me horrible indigestion after drinking it...anyone else?
  15. Well, i cant speak for you, but before the band, I would eat and eat until i was STUFFED. If i didnt feel that "God-I-cant-eat-another-bite" feeling, i just ate more. My dr only allows me one ounce meals, 3 times a day. I think to avoid over eating and stretching the pouch. Plus, you probably wont feel that "Full" feeling till you get a fill... Good luck to you
  16. haha i was all excited to see a pic! Maybe upload it to photobucket then post the url?
  17. Sounds like you're truckin' along...Man, I give you a lot of credit for not snacking during games...thats such a keen time to fill yourself with garbage, its my downfall. Happy bday!
  18. Chris...well sounds like you're doing great!!! When i start my mushies and until im at goal weight, Im only allowed 1oz meals at a time. 3 oz meals Per day. I bet that equals to about 8 bites.. Lots of people are doing the 1/2c-1c , but im only allowed a measly ounce. You can do it, gf!
  19. Well as Im not picking sides here, at all....here's my thoughts... I think the reason some people advise others to do something maybe their Dr didnt tell them to do, or eat something they shouldnt, or go to the next phase, is....because on here, we see SO many different recommendations from different dr's and people. Like how long to be on liquids...ect...and i think, "Well if its ok for so and so, then why not for me?" so for me, i think, "oh it cant be THAT bad if this dr's recommending it" ect... With so many different guidelines from our Dr's, i think its hard to say what is "right" or "Wrong" since everyone seems to be different...I cant help but to think sometimes, "Is my dr too strict?" "how can it be so bad if so and so's loosing weight and eating solids." know what i mean?
  20. haha...thats hilarious. now, everytime my husband goes to the fridge, opens it up and says, "Theres nothing to eat....sigh" i say, "oh yeah? how about a yummy can of broth?" He then realizes that compared to me, he's got tons of things he can eat. Man, not eating sure makes me crabby.
  21. You girls are looking GREAT!!
  22. Roberta, Im totally with you on the husband being a knob, thing. I dont know if im just overly senstive, but he's a skinny and can eat whatever he wants without getting big. And it seems like lately, he's going all out. Piggin out. Eating this, eating that, all in front of me. Im trying to remember, "Did he pig out this much before my surgery???" I know im probably just noticing more since i "cant" have it. sigh
  23. Hi Alicia, I was told that you shouldnt eat and drink at the same time, even when unfilled, by my dr. I was told to wait 90 mins after eating, to drink something. Good luck to you, I cant wait till i get to the mushies. mmmmm
  24. girlygirlz, you said it perfectly. I would hate to see this board big one judgemental-ring circus. I like coming here to know im not alone, and that others are experiencing the same things as I am. We all come from different backgrounds, circumstances, lifestyles, but we ALL have this experience to share with eachother...the good, the bad, the ugly. Id hate for people to start feeling uncomfortable with their thoughts, advice, questions in fear of looking like a "cheater" or one that doesnt give a flip. this is HARD. No matter where you are in your weight loss or your process, this is the hardest things most of us have ever done. We need to keep that in mind and not be so quick to put people in their place. That being said, some of us respond better to "tough love" than others...I for one, need a good ass kicking every now and then, but sometimes, i do just need to be understood.
  25. wow, gf! lookin good! I should've done that...taken some pics... keep up the great work!
