Hi Ladies! I am officially 4 days post-op. My surgery was Monday and they literally had me walking after I woke up from the surgery. I didn't have any gas pain, maybe due to all the walking they had me do. I have had a very sharp pain, feels like runners cramp in my left side which I am told is normal and even that has gotten better every day. My only other issue is constipation.... I know tmi, but drinking lots of milk of mag in hopes of some relief. Feeling great surprisingly, slowly but surely on the mend!

I am April 20th as well! Hang in there Aurangina! You are almost at the finish line, we all are. I was supposed to start the liquid diet on Monday but decided to start today figuring starting on a work day would be insanely difficult. I confess today was hell. I had a splitting headache, felt weak, exhausted and my brain was in a fog. HOWEVER, I know this is for a good cause and we are all almost there!
SO EXCITED!!!!! Counting the days. Can almost say 8 days to go!

I'm done! Sleeved with a hernia repair (I had no indication that I needed one). Ever this is going well. Sips..check
Broth....check, pain...mostly under control.

Home today. Surgery was Monday. Day two of Clear Liquids. Walked evening of surgery three rounds around ward. Tuesday walked 30 rounds in three stages of ten rounds. Wednesday, release day, walked a mile in neighborhood. Gas pains are pretty severe and burping a lot. Walking definitely is the key to recovery. Haven't been able to get down more than a few ounces of clear broth. One more day of clear liquids and then 11 days of puréed food. First check with surgeon May 6.
This is workable! Water retention is a problem. Came home 8 lbs heavier than when I went into the hospital.

Tomorrow is my big day. Ready to join the losers bench.

My surgery date is April 20th God willing and I go for pre op testing April 16th and start my liquid Diet April 10th.
I kind of feel like it isn't real. I have been thinking about getting the sleeve for about a year, I went in December for my consult and finished everything March 18th.

Day 2 post op and hoping to be released from the hospital today...I find the gas pain worse in the evening, so I walked last night...still sick feeling with every sip of water....and the hunger cramps hurt my stomach....but all in all feeling better....can't wait to get home!!

I am right there with you momfromjersey22!!!! I have never been so ready for anything in my life either! 9 days YAY!!! The pre-op liquid thing should be ok, I just need to remind myself that I am preparing my body for surgery, I have survived worse! I will stick with it as well, no matter how hard the cravings may be.

Well I thought I added a comment to this thread but is shows up as a new post! LOL! Anyway, I am VERY excited as I am sure you ladies are. I am starting my liquid diet tomorrow! I am more nervous about the liquid diet than the surgery, haha. I have been eating everything "forbidden" before I start this liquid thing, so I am sure I will have some sugar detox symptoms. However, I CAN do this!!!!
My surgery is day surgery, this facility makes us get up pretty much within an hour after surgery, walking around, drinking 2 oz every 15 minutes, etc. The walking is supposed to help release the gas that creates that pain, plus it prevents blood clots. I haven't read of anyone else leaving the day of, a bit nervous about that, but this surgeon has been doing this for years and is very well renowned in my area so I will trust him!

Well, my sleeve is scheduled for April 16....one week from today. As I sit here eating my chips, I am slowly and painfully saying goodbye to them. I don't know what all I can eat later, I'm still not up to par on my research and diet control, but I do know that for a few weeks or whatever it will be liquids, then pureed then soft, etc. No chips. Is that sad??? That I am sad I won't get these yummy foods that I love? Well....on the opposite spectrum, I am all about excited to have a healthier body. I want to fit places that have been a struggle to fit, and I want to move around and be able to walk without pain. Here's my joy! I am excited about getting better!!! I'm also getting scared as the day approaches. I have pre-op tomorrow. Wish me well! And I hope all of you are doing great as well!!!
