  8. Am I weird? I told everyone what I did. Then had to tell strangers because of the diet. But, I've never heard anybody whispering. But if they do....I don't give a crap. This was like my last resort. And it came to the fact that I needed help. So, I got help. End of story. Almost everyone I know and care about think I've done a great thing for myself and for my health. I realize not everyone is that way. I just don't care what people think of me or how I have chosen to get heathier.
  9. It does get better! Head hunger was my worst enemy at that time. Once I went to soft food list, all was right with the world. I could probably try new things and more solids in a week or two, but I'm happy where I'm at. I'm losing a little, and I eat enough soft foods for my belly. I can eat about an egg, then I'm done. Persevere! You can do it!!!
  10. I haven't had any trouble with temptation either. Except the ice cream stuff I see in the cooler every time I go get Water. But I never give in, and I'll bet you can overcome this too! I'm only about 2 months out. So I can't eat hardly anything. Which in reality is great!!! lol Hope you do well!
  11. haha...I giggled at this. I am only two months post op, lost about 40 pounds so far, but I don't see it one bit. People are telling me at church that they can tell I've lost, but I don't see it yet. Anyway. My coworkers all know what I did, had to take off work to do it. But everyone has been so supportive. I guess I'm fortunate. Hope I don't have to switch jobs or blend in. I've always enjoyed standing out a little.

  13. I sure hope so! I'm a week and a day post op.....and liquids now make me cringe. I'm doing what I'm supposed to but at the moment I feel like hammered poo! I so want something to eat. Like for real!

  15. Oh, ok! Thanks! Makes sense now. I guess I'll be able to tell a little later on! Many people don't feel restriction in the early phases. Liquid passes right through your sleeve. If you got to watch your barium swallow test post-op, you got to see that first hand. The restriction kicks in when you move on to more solid foods. That is when your new sleeve will actually have a chance to fill up and you will feel full very quickly. Through the liquid and puree stages, though, you might not feel it at all and if you do, it's likely due to the swelling more than the actual sleeve.
  16. I feel the same way! Pain has subsided, and feeling better and better!
  17. So, this is my first time in the post-op section I think. And I'm reading a lot in here about "restriction". What is that? Like that feeling you get when you feel full? I'm only a week post-op and I feel like I could drink a gallon of liquid at a time. I'm hungry a lot, so I fear I'm not getting enough Protein in. This counting crap is for the birds. Sorry! But am I the only one who hates it??? I wasn't counting anything before surgery because I didn't like it then either. I'm still on liquids, so there's not a lot I can do, I don't feel any of this restriction right now. Maybe the first day or so I did, but not now, or at least not that I can tell. Let me know what you think!
  18. 4 days post op and feeling fabulous! Had some trouble Friday was about to get released when I went unresponsive and lethargic. My vitals were good so they gave me narco or whatever to get the pain relievers out of me. I came to and they chalked it up to a reaction with the meds. I've been fine ever since! Stayed an extra day in hospital and home on Saturday doing really well now!!!
  19. Tomorrow is my day! Everyone at work has been so uplifting and encouraging with the well wishes. I am so excited!!!
  20. Two more days! Well, once tomorrow gets here....lol! I'm excited!

  22. I sure hope so! My doctor actually told me that too "you'll do great!"
  23. I'm at 356, which is less than what I thought I was. I don't have a scale at home, which I need to get...lol. I don't really care about the weight. I stopped caring about all that years ago. What I DO care about is my health. I plain old jane just do not feel good anymore. I can't do anything standing up for any length of time. I can barely even make it to the copier and back at work. That being said, I have been maintaining my weight the past several months. Up and down between 345 and 360. I'm ready to lose!!! I'm ready to feel better! I too have about 200 lbs to get off. I want a weight of 150. I don't know if that is even realistic, but that is my personal goal. Hope all the best for you! Wish me luck....I get sleeved in 4 days!!!
  24. I'm doing the food funerals. But wasn't given a preop liquid diet. I'm not gorging, but I am enjoying a few things I won't have post op. I'm going to stick to the diet strictly. Today I had a hamburger.
