I've mentioned it somewhere before, but my personal fave is the Syntrax Protein drinks. (Lemon Tea is the best, in my opinion...it actually tastes like iced tea) I can nurse a 24 oz. shake for a couple hours & it gives me 46 grams of Protein. Two of them a day & I'm way above my NUT's recommendation for the day before I ever eat a bite of food. And for the record- I haven't taken a single diabetes med since the night before my surgery 7 months ago. My A1C went from about a 12 pre-op to a current 5! It was one of the best feelings in the world to watch my PCP erase "Diabetes Mellitus" from my medical record! Best of luck to you!

Dr. Frenzel also works out of other hospitals.. he is a member of the Fort Worth Lap Band office... I used Dr. Adams out of their office with my surgery at Baylor Trophy Club. I have a friend that used Dr. Frenzel AND Dr. Smith and swears by both.. I have heard nothing but good things about both doctors...
The Forest Park Medical Center is a privately owned hospital. Owned by numerous doctors... Dr. Frenzel, Dr. Smith, Dr. Kim, and others... Turns out Baylor Trophy Club is also doctor owned/affiliated... That means THEY control the costs and therefore the self pay costs are less expensive.

Honestly I wish I knew that I could do this, I would have done it 15 years ago before I caused so much damage to my body.
    I was too scared.

My haital hernia is what paid for my bariactric surgery. My insurance company paid for the repair and I just had to pay $900 extra for the sleeve. Both were done at the same time

Listerine strips. They are strong and nasty, but nothing tastes good for hours after.

I tried to eat a healthy, balanced diet from the get go. Besides eating plenty of Protein and veggies, I was putting soft fruits like peaches, mangos and bananas in my Protein shakes starting the 2nd week postop. Since artificial sweeteners hurt my sleeve I was using pureed fruit to flavor my plain Greek yogurt.
I was OK'd for seeds and skins at 3 months postop and started adding berries to my smoothies and I had 1/4 apple with Peanut Butter as a snack several times/week. I put craisins in my mixed nuts which I. snack on everyday. In the summer, frozen pineapple, frozen melon chunks and frozen orange segments are a favorite.
All that fruit and I still passed goal at 7 months and have maintained 10 pounds below goal for over 9 months. I still shoot for a healthy, balanced diet of Protein, veggies, fruit, whole grains and plenty of Water. I must be getting good nutrition because I only take a 1/2 dose of a whole food based Multivitamin, some extra Vitamin D and B12 and my bloodwork is perfect.

I am 3 weeks out and have premier shake every morning, 30 grams of Protein right off the bat. But I love the taste of the chocolate and it goes down very easy. Has anyone tried Profuse? 2 tablespoons added to Water and it is 10 grams of Protein. Comes in grape and berry. Very good. And you kill two birds with one stone, Water and protein.

I love coming home from the gym and tossing some fruit and ice in the blender with some Garden of Life vanilla raw Protein powder. 90 calories plus whatever fruit I added. 17 g of protein. Much better than sitting around eating cheese sticks.

10 months out, and I have a Premier Protein chocolate shake every single morning. It jump starts my day with 30 grams of Protein, one-third of the way to my daily goal. "And it's so tasty too!" (Just like Vitameatavegamin, for those of you old enough to remember THAT one!)

I'm 16 months out, 10 pounds below goal and have had a Protein smoothie (24-32oz fluid/30-40g protein) every day. I also usually have a Quest bar at some point during the day. Knowing I've already gotten 50-60g protein, I am free to eat more veggies, fruit and whole grains instead of only protein for every meal/snack. But I still do eat a lot of protein foods, so I'm likely getting 80-100g protein daily. I feel a healthy, balanced diet is the key to long term success, both nutritionally and mentally. And I never bothered counting calories or carbs.
