  1. I was told recently that a cash price was 13k, but that also included a revision from a Lap Band. So I'm guessing it would be less. Not sure if that helps. Sent from my Nexus 7 using BariatricPal mobile app

    February 2015 Bandsters --ANYONE?!?

I was banded February 27 and I feel like I reached a plateau also. I have lost about 60 lbs both before and after my surgery, which is wonderful and I am not complaining. I also have 4.8mls in a 10ml band, but unlike my nurses I feel like I need a fill. I also walk for exercise, but don't count calories. I just make sure of my daily protein intake is enough and don't cheat too much at my sugar intake.

    Interesting, what people notice.

    My bad, what's NSV?

    Hitting a wall

So I was doing really good up until seven weeks ago. Following SugarBusters diet, getting my daily Protein amounts, drinking my fluids, etc...all along losing pounds every month. I was feeling really good about myself too...then the scale went the wrong way.???? Dang it!! I actually called before my scheduled monthly weigh-in and discussed how disgusted ???? I was with everything. I was told that I wasn't taking in enough calories per day and maybe my body was going into starvation mode. Oh goody! ????. So now I am still not seeing a positive change again and am really ready for a flippin' fill. The nurse didn't recommend one last time because they feel that I am in the "green" zone because of my appetite between meals. Of course I feel the appetite correlates to my protein intake, but the nurse disagrees. So I guess I am looking for advice/opinions/thoughts from fellow bandsters. Really anything would be great guys.

I just want to show off... ????

    Whoa, amazing! Congratulations!!
  6. My doc's rule is no drinking thirty minutes before and after eating. Seems odd at first, but I got used to it. I am still trying to increase my water intake. I am a steadfast iced tea drinker, always unsweetened, so I have started to make a 50/50 regular and decaf tea. Trying to be good.

    Who all did you tell?

I was recently approached my a church member who to "speak to me privately" ....oh goody. ????. Well she started to talk about my weight loss and how she didn't know if I had WLS or not, but that she was going to have gastric bypass. Long pause on my part because I couldn't think of what to say back and then I just fessed up. Kinda annoyed I did it, it is not anyone's business. Hopefully she will keep her promise not to tell anyone else.

Liquids for a week after fill?

Mine has orders of nothing to drink for two hours prior to a fill and then only liquids for the following 48hours. However I am only able to go about 24 hours before I start to feel not right.
  9. I have had only three fills totalling 3.5 mls and I am no where in the green zone. And to be totally honest, it sucks. I have a ten ml band, but this waiting in between fills blows. I am trying to wait patiently for the slightest feeling of restriction, but it's driving me nuts.

Feb 2015 Bandsters - How much lost?

Hi Mommyfrid, I had my surgery on Feb 27th. And I have had only three fills, at 3.5cc of a 10cc band. I must say that I still don't have any feeling of restriction. I basically can eat whatever I want and it really takes a fair amount of food to fill full. The last time I was getting a fill (of a flippin' 0.5cc) the nurse told me I was almost in the Green Zone! I'm pretty sure she has no clue. I kept telling her about my eating habits. As far as weight loss...well...the pre-diet (SugarBusters) about 35 lbs and just post-op about another 25lbs. All in all, I am not dissatisfied. I just want more fills, not BS about the Green Zone. And before I forget, congratulations on your accomplishment! You are doing fabulous. Keep it up!
  11. Congratulations on your new life journey, VancouverGirl72. You sound as though you are doing really well adjusting to your new life. And remember at some point you can get re-accquainted with bacon. It's pretty good as a Protein source.

To tell or not to tell

I have only told my husband, mother, sister, a friend from church and the friend who told me about the surgeon knows. That's it, no more. I don't need unsolicited opinions of "friends" who have interest in my well being or health.
  14. I had surgery on February 27th, had one fill at the doctor's office (2cc) and one six weeks later at a center (1cc) and I'm still waiting for it to feel like it's slowing me down. I have been just living the Sugar Busters diet like before and waiting.... My next fill is a week from today and I am hoping that at maybe 4cc I will feel different. *fingers crossed*

    Who all did you tell?

Sassysassypants1, that's exactly how I feel. I specifically haven't told my MIL for just that reason, the woman CAN NOT keep her mouth shut. Just recently I visited with my kids and she made a point to tell my cousin, "She's finally lost some weight you can see." Now isn't that just sweet of her?? Heck no!!!!
