  1. Keep up the strong work girls!! The accountability log (and low carb) is working for me.....I am down a total of 7 pounds since I started logging/keeping track (I'm back down to my low, plus lost one more pound on top of that!!!) I got to change my ticker..... FINALLY!!!! YAY!! Also, changed my goal weight....would like to be 215 by Dec 1...that's 2 pounds per week:scared:
  2. Breakfast: 3 bites crustless quiche Lunch: 1/2 cup leftover beef/vege stir-fry (yay, it's finally all gone:tired ), 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese. Dinner: 1/4 cup diced cheese cubes, 1/4 cup diced summer sausage, 100 calorie pack of cheese nips Snack: Sonic Vanilla Ice Cream Cone Water: 56 oz water/tea Exercise: The usual....work. Puts me at 956 calories for the day and 59 gms protein. Must go to bed now....you all are doing great. Nighty Night:notagree
  3. Worked today (very tired, what's new:rolleyes: )...Glad to be working though. Here goes...Did okay considering there was a humongous sheet cake and about 4 dozen Cookies staring me in the face as soon as I walked in the breakroom door this morning.....Didn't have even a morsel :hungry: Breakfast: 3 bites of mini crustless quiche with ham/cheese AM Snack: 2 crackers with 2 Tbsp crab salad Lunch: 1/2 cup leftover beef/vegetable stir-fry, a few strips of red peppers dipped in about 1-2 tbsp hummus. PM Snack: 2 crackers with 2 Tbsp crab salad Dinner: 1/4 cup Salmon salad Evening Snack: FF vanilla yogurt ice cream cone Water: 48 ounces Exercise: 3.5 miles at work walking Puts me at a total of 783 calories for today with 51 grams Protein....probably need to eat some more before bed, but don't really feel like it tonight. Oh Cate....where are you girlie????:bandit
  4. Okay...I'm day 3 of carb detoxing....and may I just say, this is truly working for me...I'm coming of of an essential 3 month plateau (lost several pounds in the week leading up to my bandiversary, but promptly gained it all back within a week). My scale this morning was at my all time low again, and I'm hoping to be able to change my ticker by this weekend I will say that today I have been craving carbs again, but just using the method of either going for a walk to get my mind off of it, or I am making better food choices and reaching for the Protein Snacks instead of the crackers/chips/ice cream/sugar choices. I did go to the store tonight and get stuff to make a low carb cheesecake (yummy)...but it is sugar free and has 23 gms of protein in each slice...so I'm not gonna beat myself up over that:biggrin1: Here's my log for today: Breakfast: 4 oz salmon w/dill sauce Lunch: 17 slices turkey pepperoni chips with 1/2 cup buffalo chicken dip PM Snack: 2-3 pieces each of cheese cubes/smoked sausage bites Dinner: 1/2 cup beef/veggie stir-fry with soy sauce Dessert: 1 piece (1/10th slice of a whole) low carb cheesecake Water: 64 oz!! YAY!:clap2: (for once) Exercise: Walked 1.5 miles on the track at a fast pace That puts my totals for today at 1018 calories and 77 gms protein.
  5. Good Job Bear! You're gonna be melting away if you keep doing such a good job with your food choices!!:biggrin1: Good Day for me, and I dropped another pound this morning (still trying to get back down to my 240 pound low, as I gained a couple after my bandiversary): Breakfast: None....slept in and woke up at 10:30 Lunch: 4 oz baked salmon, with 3 tablespoons dill sauce (to lube it up) Afternoon Snack: 1 tablespoon hummus w/2 pepperoni chips, 3 bites crab salad, 1/2 of a deviled egg. Dinner: 1/2 cup of leftover hamburger/onion/green pepper/mushroom stir-fry Evening Snack: Planning on watching Nip/Tuck with 100 calorie pack tonight and maybe a tablespoon of Peanut Butter with some carrots. Water: 32 oz so far, but getting ready to have another bottle Exercise: Went to the park and played with my 3 year old for about an hour. That puts me at a total of 956 calories for today and 55 grams of Protein. Oh Cate where are you????:bandit
  6. Good job Wheets! Looks like your trying to eat a little bit more:biggrin1: ...You gotta be kidding me....you got stuck on an M&M???????? WOW!!! Now that's some impressive restriction;)
  7. Diane- I just found out my little nephew is having his one year birthday party that day at 1:00. Any way we could push it back to a dinner date?
  8. Okay Girls- Yes, It's a Holiday, but accountability still holds true...where is everyone?:welldoneclap: Actually, I kind of forgot it was a holiday, and planned to start new this week today (mostly since it was Monday). I am gonna try what Cate suggested and eat whatever non-carbs and as much as I want while I am detoxing from them, so-to-speak. Funny thing is, I went with that idea today, but I didn't really WANT more (the thought of eating more protein/non-carb stuff kinda makes me nauseous actually). Even though I'm just in day one of detox....using that method has helped a lot and actually has been a pretty good day. Here goes: Breakfast: 1/2 cup Cottage cheese, 3 mini (literally bite sized) crustless ham/cheese/veggie quiches. Lunch: 1/2 cup Cate's Buffalo Chicken Dip with 1.5 servings of turkey pepperoni chips. Dinner: 1/2 cup of a stir-fry concoction made of ground beef, mushrooms, peppers, and onions with a little soy sauce mixed in. (Yummy, but admittedly I PB'd....ate too fast I think). Water: 64 oz Exercise: Walked 1.5 miles on the track this morning (about 30 mins) That puts my totals for today at 822 calories and 55 gms of protein. I probably should have some sort of snack since I'm not quite where I should be for the day, but I'm not really hungry and hate to blow things like I typically do in the evening time:D Also, I have to admit, I had a bad craving for carbs about 3 this afternoon, but I chose to deal with it by going upstairs and taking a nap...when I woke up it was dinner time;)
  9. Gonna post early for me because we will be gone tonight.... Breakfast: Coffee/creamer Lunch: 5-6 bites Chipotle Burrito Bowl with Barbacoa...(PB'd, so I'm not gonna count it ) PM Snack: Starbucks Carmel Frappuccino (medium) PM Snack #2: 3 crackers with 2 bites hummus, 1 bite crab dip Dinner: We're picnic'ing it for an outdoor labor day concert at Shawnee Mission Theater in the Park....probably taking some pepperoni chips with hummus or buffalo chicken dip and assorted veggies to dip with. Water: None yet...but I'll work on it;) Exercise: Minimal...but I'll work on it;) I'm planning on chasing my 3 year old in the park for most of the night while the symphony plays.:omg:
  10. IYB BEMITMITA Special Ethiopian Cottage cheese made with butter milk curds mixed with butter and mitimita. Diane-I just HAD to post this:D ....went to try and find the web site on the Blue Nile Cafe and found this on the menu....I'm sitting here laughing sooooo hard. Now I know why you like this place...it has cottage cheese!! Who knew!! Love ya girlie!!! :kiss2:
  11. Pat- I truly commend you for your courage to do what you think is best for you and your health, ESPECIALLY being self-pay....since that is, and always will be my big dilemma . Hang in there girl, and let us know how it goes with switching to another care provider, post-banding:)
  12. Bear....I was gonna post a comment on how glad I was that you put a ticker on but you beat me to it. Good job, and I hope that you are at your sweet spot too.....those meatballs sound yummy:hungry:
  13. Good for you Pat!! You have more guts than I do! I must have missed something though....have you had recent conversations with Nola where she has told you she is "close friends" with some of her patients? The last I remember you mentioning anything was that you had requested your records and had at that point already been waiting quite a while for return phone calls from the office. Friends with pts.....Weird.... I think it is interesting they wanted a full fledged explanation of why you were requesting your records....never had that happen to me before from anywhere else I have requested records. Again that is a PATIENT RIGHT to have access to their medical records, no questions asked..... Also, who did you finally decide to switch to?
  14. You GO GIRL!!! Good job! I'm jealous of course:eek: .....I'm good with that date....believe or not, I have NEVER been to the City Market in the 20 years I have lived here:kiss ...I would love an excuse just to go down there and look around. How about the rest of you girls??
  15. I didn't really keep track too well yesterday....went to a family gathering in the evening and was running non-stop before that. My mother in law wanted me to make my famous yummy chicken salad (has grapes, pecans, and other yummy stuff in it). It makes a huge batch to serve about 20 people. Then I serve it on buttery croissants.....yummy EXCEPT, as you all know I can't do chicken, so that was somewhat torturous to make it and not be able to eat it:mad: I crashed eating chips/dip at my MIL's later in the evening. SO..Here's a rough estimate........ Breakfast: 100 calorie snack pack Lunch: (Jerusalem Cafe) about 3 Pita triangles smothered in hummus, estimate about 2 ounces Gyro meat with 1 Tbsp cucumber sauce......(that gyro meat is soooooo tender, I can't believe I haven't thought of trying it before to get my Protein in). Afternoon Snack: (Walking through costco they had sooo many samples :guess I had a bite of crab dip, a bite of hummus on a cracker, etc etc) 1/3 cup frozen yogurt ice cream, 1/2 one of those cinnamon bread sticks) Afternoon Snack #2: Made Cate's dip....about 1/4 cup (pureed the heck out of it so you can't even tell there's chicken in it:biggrin1: ) with 5 melba toasts....yummy! dinner: Crash and burn.....chips with guac......chips with pizza dip......more chips with guac.....1/4 cup mandarin orange salad......2 snickerdoodles......more chips with guac......more snickerdoodles.......bite of cinnamon crunch coffee cake.......another snickerdoodle.......piece of frozen german chocolate pie..............GRAZED ALL NIGHT!:faint: Water/Tea: 64 oz Exercise: no planned exercise, but got some in other ways :bandit Today's a new day...and I got lots of good low carb stuff to make at the store yesterday. We'll say what the day holds;)
  16. :clap2: Diane-You have had an AWESOME day! Cate-what a great idea on the way you switch over to the low carb thing....I might have to try that. BTW....I see your ticker has moved again! You go girl!:clap2: I'm off to the store tomorrow to buy some pepperoni chips and make that buffalo dip
  17. Hi Chico....I mean Ralph!! You made me laugh....my husband came in here and asked me what I was laughing about.....he kiddingly told me "You better not be chatting with any men on-line!" You are doing great Ralph! I'm glad to know a little more about you. Keep on posting in chica-land;)
  18. Sorry I stepped away from the computer a minute...yep....usual spot. Meet cha there!
  19. Let's set it up....why don't you throw out some dates/times that are good for you and we can all check our schedules and post on here whats good or not. The most important question though.....do they serve alcohol??:heh:
  20. I'll miss you Angela- Have fun while you are out of town.....I elect you leader of the group to actually bring it up with Dr. H. I think you are the most articulate with words, and the key opposite of me......unemotional when it comes to voicing your opinion on this particular issue (and please know I don't mean that as an insult in any way, shape, or form). In fact, I'm jealous that you can be that way. I just get too hurt at the thought of everything that has happened to me when it comes to my interactions with various office staff. Him and I have tiptoed around things, but never talked about it point-blank. I am regretful now that I seemingly lost my opportunity:think ... I have to say that some time away from the SMMC support group, as well as not 'having' to interact with the office lately, has allowed some of the wounds to heal. But I think I will always be deeply saddened by some of the treatment I have received, as you said never by Dr H. though. Unfortunately, I am bound to him due to being self pay. I make a $500 payment every month to the loan company to remind me of that....I probably could if I tried really hard, but I don't want to spend extra money unnecessarily on paying another fill doc for my fills/treatment. I totally understand where you are coming from. You need to get in to see him though asap next week. I think it would be a prime opportunity (if you deem it appropriate) to bring up some of the things that haven't before been mentioned. And based on your posts and all of our interactions Angela, I think you would represent all of our thoughts, as a whole, VERY VERY well. I'm sending you another one of those touchy feely hugs your way (that I know you hate so much!! ) Love ya girl!
  21. You mean there are social events that don't involve food????? LOL! I for one would LOVE to try Ethiopian food....as long as I don't have to eat any beetles or anything:heh:
  22. You are so funny! We would be glad to adopt you:p ....Do you mind me asking your name, where you are from, when you were banded, and stats (like your starting weight etc)..... My curiousity is getting the best of me....or you can remain anonymous and I will just call you bear;)
  23. Okay girls (and bear:) ).....I don't know why, but I've had a rough band day.....I think it's because I'm tired and my inhibitions were really low today. Here goes: Breakfast: 80 cal yogurt AM Snack#1: 4 bites of thinly sliced bagel/ 2 tbsp peanut butter AM Snack#2: 3 pieces of Hershey's Dark Chocolate w/Almonds Lunch: Not counting this because I hurled :cry (it was a small salad, but I made the mistake of yet again trying 2-3 bites of chicken on it) PM Snack #1: 2 small Peanut Butter cookies PM Snack #2: 2 bites of carrot cake Dinner: Tortilla Chips/Queso (for the chiefs game) ....and lots of them...(this is where the majority of my calories came from today) Total Calories: 1252 with 50 Grams of Protein (and the night is still young)...I'm gonna go lock myself upstairs in the bedroom, far far away from the kitchen. Fluids: 40 oz water, plus 16 oz coffee Exercise: 5.25 miles walked at work:bored Scale isn't moving....but I'm also PMS'ing...(hence the carb attack today).
  24. Diane- Since your bandiversary is coming up....I think I feel another girls night out coming on :clap2: .....What would you like to do?
  25. Girl....Please don't be afraid to share anything with us. We are all here for each other to share not only in our trials, but in our triumphs too.
