    February sleevers

If you just had surgery in the past week, that might happen. That happened to me for the first few days. Everything was so sweet and just made me feel sick. Do you have nausea meds? I used those to make sure I could get my protein in. The sweetness should stop in a few days.

I had mine done on the same day and have noticed the weight slowing down. My mom had the same issue as well after her's. If you are concerned, I would talk with your surgeon. For women, I notice cycles get in the way of weight loss because you retain water, at least I do. Mine started just a week or so after my surgery, so if your's is coming up, it may just be water weight.
  3. I think it just depends on the surgeon. If you are curious, I would ask your's. They will also tell you when you get there the morning of.

I was never put on a clear liquid diet, just straight liquids at first. I have had issues with switching to puree though. Just take it slow, take a sip and let it sit. You will know soon if you can handle it. Don't push yourself though, just keep trying new things. Good luck!

I feel like that from time to time. One thing that helps is making sure you are getting calories in. Granted, we don't want a lot, but I made the mistake of not thinking about it and I fell into a shakey, heart racing state. So long as you are getting protein in, try to add things that may up, slightly, your calories. You may be just not getting enough for what you use for energy. Also, make sure to eat multiple times a day. My doctor said it should be 5 to 6 small meals. Meaning liquid meal if you are at that stage. When you get to puree, try some mashed bananas as a snack, Protein powder can be added to this or it can be added to a shake. I started puree stage just recently but I had a bad bought of nausea last night so I'm gonna be on liquids again today and maybe tomorrow.

    February sleevers

It is wonderful to hear from so many of you! I thought February would be a hard month for me to start as I was kind of a chocolaholic and valentines day was right around the corner, but now I don't even want sugar. Already had one dumping syndrome incident and I DON'T wanna repeat that. I'm happy so many of you are doing so well! I think I have lost about 10 lbs since my surgery, but I also started on the low range of the scope for surgery, so I'm expecting it to be slower than some. That and, unfortunately, my cycle is messing with me by starting early this month, adding to my water weight and all. Hopefully that is done soon. Thank you all for participating!

Have you talked to your doctor about that? You may need to use plain protein powder and mix that with stuff. I used to HATE protein shakes but now I can feel it giving me energy and the nutrition I need, plus they don't taste as bad. You may just have to try many many types before you find one, that is what my mom did and she could only ever drink one brand. She is now 4 years out of her sleeve and no hair loss.

    Eating

That is a great idea! Thank you for this I have been wanting to chew so bad but just couldn't think of what might work with the diet.
  12. I would voice this with your surgeon and the hospital. Most stay fro 1 to 2 days. I stayed overnight but I left a little to dehydrated and had to go to the ER the day after due to complications with that, but that was me and being a bit stupid. I wanted the hell outta there and didn't let my body decide. I just hate hospitals. Make sure you listen to your body after to not end up like I did lol good luck!
  13. Hello! I had my sleeve done on the 11th and I just wanted to see how others were doing so far. Best wishes to all!
  14. My mother had this surgery 4 years ago and you are just fine in my opinion. Different doctors want different time and go my different 'statistics' as well. I would say, so long as your still going for it and doing your best, don't worry about it. My mom had some issues with her weight loss in the first year and some people will, but as long as you are taking with your surgeon and doctors, and doing your best, that is all that is needed. Some will try to pressure you but it isn't like you gained weight, so hooey with them! Cynthia - my insurance is what determined if I needed weight loss before the surgery or not. I would check with your surgeon and insurance to make sure you get the requirements for yourself.
  15. Mine was done in about an hour but I had a very good and skilled surgeon. She has always been quick and efficient. Normally they say between 1 to 2 hours is the length, at least at the hospital where I was. Hope this helps!
