In my personal opinion, I am attracted to a persons personality, not thier physical characteristics.
Being overweight my whole life, I know what it feels like to be judged and not given a chance just because I was fat.
Now that I changed my lifestyle, I would NEVER not give someone a chance based on appearance!
I know all too well it feels..
    Just my 2 cents

My daughter has been using it for a couple of weeks and her skin looks great. She has also lost 6lbs. Seem's to have alot of natural benefits. I use it for yeast infections.

I can attest to its effectiveness for treating acid reflux. After taking Pepcid for years, I decided to give ACV a try, because a gal I worked with who had been dealing with a hiatal hernia and its symptoms for years had been taking it, and hadn't had one problem with it since the day she started taking the ACV.

It does taste terrible and I never ever could take it straight, but I'd put it in about a cup of Water with some Splenda and drink it before bed. It works, as fast or faster than Pepcid and much, much cheaper. I had a patient tell me that he got immediate relief after taking it straight, but that just made me want to puke.

Oh, and it doesn't have to be the organic, unfiltered kind, either... straight off the grocery store shelf does the trick just as well for a whole lot less than they'll charge you for the organic stuff at Whole Foods.

Yes. The person on the inside with the qualities I value are the most important. Before getting to know someone, it is impossible to know what their desires in life are. Being overweight doesn't mean they would be a bad influence on me, and I might just be a good influence on them.

    It depends on the person.
I have dated tall and short women, some very slim and petite, some much curvier and while not obese, certainly textbook overweight.
What matters to me is how a person feels about themselves. They are some simply stunning women who are overweight. Their self confidence makes them radiant and attractive to others.
I'm married, so I don't plan on dating anyone else but there are certain people I meet and I think "I just have to get to know this person."
Similarly, people who lack self confidence are too challenging for me to be around. People whose only opinion of themselves is constructed by others. People who can't be seen being silly or having fun because it's not cool to others. Who can't walk past a window pane without admiring themselves in it. People who constantly criticize themselves in front of others in an attempt to elicit sympathetic or vindicating responses from others.
I love confident and down to earth people. THAT is what attracts me to others.

newrose2427 reacted to mark! in Fat burners
Any fat burner you buy OTC doesn't do anything for burning fat. It elevates heart rate and body temperature (thermogenics) for the effect. I'd have to question any Dr. who said it was ok to use a stimulant of said nature anytime after WLS since the caloric restrictions would hinder the bodies ability to work with the supplement. (Edit: Any over the counter "fluff" supplement") Being on a very low calorie diet and adding caffeine and whatever else they throw in for good measure may have some pretty severe negative effects on your body. Your body will eventually grow accustomed to the caffeine and such in the pills, so you'll have to up the dosage to keep that effect going, adding more and more, because most people are ignorant to "cycling" supplements.
To be honest, you'd probably be better off just adding in pure caffeine pills you can find at CVS, Wal-Mart or any grocery store in the supplement section. The FDA doesn't regulate fat burners, which frankly I think the FDA isn't all that great, but still...if they won't touch them, that says something. Ephedra was banned, but most fat burners now include Ma Huang, which has nearly an identical chemical make up of Ephedra, and hey, it creates the same problems, cool how they can still supplement things with a different name, but same reactions and such right? If you're just looking for energy, there are things out there I could recommend, caffeine pills being one, Yohimbine HCL being another, DMAA, or some good old fashioned BCAA complexes pre workout, you'll get much more out of a BCAA stack than any fat burner as it'll aid in recovery as well. Creatine can also help in both areas, fueling you for your workout and providing increased blood and Water flow to your muscles to aid in recovery and repairing the torn fibers.

Thank you for that very well articulated response regarding the correlation of smoking Marijuana and it's effects on post Bariatric surgery patients. I also appreciated your well thought out response and obvious expertise about the dangers of addiction and addiction transfer post WLS. Your critical thinking skills must be the envy of all your peers.
I'll bet you're fun at parties.

I would hardly call once a week an addiction? So someone who has a glass of wine or a beer once a week is addicted? Your ignorance and prejudice about Marijuana is showing....

For me, only one person I knew lost a significant amount of weight and kept it off. Wls was my last resort. I have been big my entire life, never lost weight dieting, and was ready to give up. This surgery saved my life! I wish I had done it years ago and saved myself heart ache.

My doc does a 90% sleeve. 90% of my stomach - GONE! wasn't sure how a person can live like this... BUT I DO! And happily too! Looking back, I did the work... take supplements, still focus on Protein, exercise 5x per week, etc and it was really manageable for the first year and 1/2. But now... Now I have to WORK to maintain. (Like everyone else). I put on a few pounds and it's a struggle to get it off again, but it DOES come off when I work at it and force a return to good habits. Definitely NOT easy but so worth it!

No i expected this to be something i had to work with. I watched a tonne if videos and lurked a bit on online forums and general consensus was that this operation was a tool to help you lose weight not a miracle cure. So it has met my expectations.
