How is everyone doing?
I hit 70 pounds gone today! So exciting! Of course, I'm counting the weight I lost during pre op.... Since surgery, I'm down about 38 pounds. Still- it's unreal to me! I'm back at my college weight! Next stop, high school weight! (25 more pounds for that)

So how is it going February peeps? I just had my 6 week checkup and labs were good. Energy level has gotten better but I still get tired very easy. It's almost time to get planting outside and I am worried whether I will be able to do it. I have lost 32 pounds from surgery day but it's the loss of inches that have been incredible! I had a jacket that was over 12 inches from being able to zip and last week I zipped it up with no issues!
I just started on regular food today but eat so little it's not that big of a deal. I haven't had much issue with eating or drinking but ground turkey seems to be a laxative for me . One incident of eating too fast and had the " foamies" and threw up. I have been extra careful since. Still have to rely on one shake a day to get my Protein in though.

What great progress everyone !!!
Three weeks today for me....it has gone by fast!
I haven't bothered with an updated picture yet as there isn't too much difference. I finally started feeling alive the other day. I actually have been able to do a couple minor tasks without feeling exhausted. I still have found I can eat everything I am allowed without issue. And drinking has been easy as well.
Surgery date 3/27/2015
Original starting weight 282
Surgery weight 269
Current weight. 247

SW: 330
Pre-Op: 320
Current: 308
Goal: 165
Feeling really good except for pain once in a while in my left side. It's much better than it was!
Confession...I've been not doing great the past 2 days with drinking my Water. We are moving from KS to NY and with trying to get everything done I've been bad! But today, I've had my 3 kids "bugging" me about drinking my water! I love them so much! I am half way through my at least 64oz for the day!

My GS surgery was 2/4 . I lost 16 lbs before surgery. Day of surgery I was 202. For 3 weeks pre op I went down to 187.. Then the dreadful STALL!! Please to say as of March 13 I weighed and was down 5lbs!! Wooot stall is finally over for now. Very excited to be 182... I'm on reg foods now or what I can tolerate. It's still a struggle but learning foods I loved no longer sit well which is fine by me. How has everyone else been doing ? I would love to hear

Grlfrny...hope your pain eases up soon.
Melanie I can see the difference ..especially in you face. Look forward to more pics as we all progress.
I am moving along. The only issue continues to be the total lack of energy...I mean to the point where I am sitting or laying most of the day. I am hydrated fine and getting more than required Protein but no improvement.
Weight loss has slowed a bit as expected. I am limiting myself to weighing every three days which is actually easier for me.

I think I "might" have finally pushed through the 3 week stalk... Am down a pound a day the last three days. I was starting to feel like this wasn't working for me! I'm now down 19.5 since surgery on 2/16-- I feel like I'm going to be a slow loser. My friend had surgery two weeks after me, and she's already lost more than me post-op! Frustrating, but I can't help but be happy for her. It really helps having someone in person to talk to about this process!
So, I'm now down over 50 pounds since I started this journey in mid-2014! I think I'm ready to share a before and current picture! Anyone else ready to share a photo? :-)

Hi everyone my surgery was 2/19. Everything went well. My scars are healing nicely. I am having no problems holding liquids and Protein Drinks down. I am seriously jealous of all you posters already on purée diets an surgery dates after mine! My surgeon says I have to wait till post op day 22 for purée... This Friday!! Can't wait!!! I am down 27lbs which I think is remarkable! Almost makes a diet of just Water Protein Shakes worth it . I find I suffer "head" hunger the worst, but I am actually never hungry. It's a process but I still feel positive! Congrats everyone on your success!!

Good to hear all the reports. My surgery was 2/27. The weight coming off is of course nice and I have lost 15 pounds since sugery. But I am so focused on getting all the steps right it had been secondary. I am excited at the prospect of life being so different...makes me giddy at times. I sooo wanted to move one day sooner to purée stage but stuck it out. Yesterday I made up a weeks worth of pureed chicken and crab. Added different things to the chicken for an added flair. The crab was very good. I had 1/4 cup of the crab at lunch and could not eat but half of dinner. So far no foods have been an issue. Knock on wood.
I think I had read so much about tiny sips and bites I was anxious it but I am almost taking normal swallows of liquid.
Still have pain from incisions that are aggravated by my pants waist..but otherwise the pain is fine. The worst part for me is energy level. The first few hours if the morning feel like I am going to pass out. This subsides some through the day but I still lack enough energy to do much.

Hello everyone. ..had my surgery on 2/24...weighed 241....currently 228lbs...12 days out. Vomited twice because I ate too much. Completely learned my lesson. This crushed pill thing is the pitts. I am definitely getting my Water n food in when I try. I don't always eat the complete amount called for but I eat something. My incisions seem to be healing well although they still hurt from time to time and the Tylenol does nothing for it. My treadmill somehow wad broken 1 wk before surgery and my husband just ordered the part..it should be here this upcoming week? I've walked around my block several times felt a little dizzy, so I doing it in moderation. I truly hope this pureed food thing ends after tomorrow. I have my first Post Op appt. with my Dr. I cannot wait. Oh one of my favorite things to drink is chicken Broth.....love love love it...before surgery I would have never thought to drink just plain broth.< /p>

Progress is a whole lot slower than expected, weight wise. I'm down 20 since surgery on the 16th, down 47 since November 1st when I started my pre surgery diet. Other than that I'm healing very well all incisions are pretty well closed and glue fallen off. My blood pressure is down and I'm off my Water pills, also off all diabetes medications. Have soo much more energy and my lung capacity is increasing every day. Getting in my Protein and my water almost every day as well. Loving Premiere protein chocolate with 30 grams of protein in each drink.

2/25 was my surgery. Since my pre-op visit 2/9 I think I've lost about 20lbs. I will see my dr for first post op on Tuesday so I will have a better number. I'm a little upset that I am still having to take insulin. With my limited calories and carb and zero sugar intake. I assumed I would be ok.... I guess I have to come to terms that my body is just not able to produce insulin at all.
I had a cold the last few days which slowed down my excercise but I did go for a walk today. I also took my first post op pic to start documenting the weight loss. Also finally after almost a week and the help of Miralax each day I was able to go to the bathroom.
I'm starting to eat Greek yogurt and had homemade chili tonight. It was so good and my pouch told me when I was full and it was definitely about 4oz. I had started to think my dr had made my pouch bigger (lol). But I think I'm just able to eat at least one meal out of my day. It's been 2 hours since dinner and I am still full, not uncomfortable, but have no desire to eat. YAY!
My shakes don't have this effect on me. I'm trying to get around the "head" hunger and the adjustments to my life. I'm pretty sure that my dr will release me to head back to the gym so I'm looking forward to that. I prob won't spend 2 hours in there like I used to, but I'm looking forward to getting back there.

Hi February Ladies,
Just wanted to chime in on the stall...I had a stall around 15-20 days out. It's funny, even though I knew it would happen, I was still extremely discouraged. I knew it was nothing I was doing. I'm still on liquids (a few bites of cottage cheese and yogurt). This last week I came out of the stall with a 6 lbs loss. Be patient, stalls pass!

Conquering day five. Scared to jinx myself but so far getting everything in has been easier than I thought. I like having a good variety so Water is number one but Decaf tea, chicken broth, watered down grape juice, are all good so far. Got to have my Protein Shake yesterday and both the chocolate and vanilla were fine. Took about 4 hours to get it down. And Jello is part of " breakfast" but never really been a fan. Pop cycles once a day for a treat have been perfect.
Pain is decreasing no pain pills during day but I am taking them at night to help sleep. I had my first decent sleep last night and it was wonderful. It is still tough walking though. I had to go outside in very slushy snow to take care of our chickens and it was slow going. My cold is at the end but still a little little cough. Gas pains have been minimal and even in the hospital I only had two bad episodes of them. Incisions are all healing well. I feel tired and luckily have little I have to do. I fixed one of the frozen dinners I had pre made for family last night. The meatloaf smelled very strong. ( I am so glad I made up probably 12 meals. ) I had my first poop today and oh my...I was really surprised how much there was and that I didn't have any Constipation.
And my arthritis pain is nearly non existent. I have lived on NSAIDs for four years so this is quite shocking.
I go tomorrow for my first follow up. It is about a 20 mile drive which I am not looking forward too.
