My surgery is This Tuesday the 24th with Dr.Gutierrez at Trinity Medical bariatrics

I'm so happy for everyone with their scheduled dates!
I've had a lot of set backs with the passport office this week - they keep jerking me around telling me one fee, and then another one altogether, so I've had to go back and forth all week from my bank just to sort out the money issue, and it's still not fixed, so this whole ordeal has set me back a whole week, which means I have to reschedule everything since my passport will not arrive in time for my flight or surgery date. UGGGH.
Today, I was so mad because I should have had my passport app in on Tuesday - I feel as though I'm beating my head against a brick wall and that the world is building obstacles against me on this, but it is only proving to me that it is every bit worth fighting for.
Hopefully the 4th visit will be the charm. *crossing my fingers* I'm so ready to move forward with this!

Good morning everyone! So I'm laying here on my hospital bed. 1 day post surgery. I was in a lot of pain yesterday. And constantly felt like I have to throw up. But today has been much much much better! Must I did, dr verboonen and dr Cortez and his team are amazing! Especially Javier, he's one of the nurses here. Before my journey through all this, I weighed 226. When they weighed me yesterday right before, I weight 210. Which means I lost 16lbs during my 10 days of the liquid diet!! I am hoping to go to the hotel room soon because I would LOVE to bath. Lol. I wish all you February 19thers best of luck!!!

Guac, yes – chips, no! Stick it out through the 2-week liquid phase and you'll detox from the crap foods. Tell yourself you dont' want them anymore. Then introduce soft meats like tuna and chicken salad. You'll be amazed at how great they taste after 4 weeks of Protein shakes. I also found that warm chicken broth was very soothing during the first 2 weeks. Hang in there. It gets better quickly!!!

I have been hollered at for telling this before...oh well! What got me through is I would take a package of instant potatoes and make it so thin.....it was Soup...add a little cheese. I know there is no Protein, but you are in the healing stage and that should be number one!!! It was so satisfying......I have never liked broth......some say cook chicken and make your own broth and it is better? You can also take refried Beans and add Water to make them Soup and add cheese. Just make sure it is real thin and no lumps. I had a terrible time with Protein at first also.....Once I hit the soft foods.....I lived off of Soups for several months and is still my go to when my tummy is not tolerating very well.

I'm scheduled with ALM on February 28th. Excited and nervous.

I hate that stories like this reflect badly on ALL Mexican surgeons. The headline doesn't call out a specific surgeon, it says "Mexico Surgery Warning" as if the "mistake" this patient made was traveling to Mexico for her surgery and not her choice of surgeon. It's stories like this that make friends and family members freak out when they find out we're going/have gone to Mexico for surgery. There are complications and malpractice all over the US too, but if for instance, a Wisconsin surgeon has a complication or a death, the news media doesn't warn everyone against going to Wisconsin for surgery.
Hundreds of us on these boards have had very successful, complication-free surgeries in Mexico. But you don't hear about those in the news. You hear about cases like this that are framed in such a way that they reflect badly on all Mexican surgeons, no matter what their level of expertise and success.

I'm on the same boat as you! Lol. Just getting some last minute things ready. I fly out first thing tomorrow morning and then having my surgery! So excited and nervous at the same time.

I haven't scheduled yet, but I have time off from work scheduled and everything lining up for this to go through. I'm expecting it to go through at the end of March. I'm so excited, yet nervous. I'm hoping for March 31st to be my date through ALM. I'm still undecided between Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Curiel through them. Either way, it'll be soon! Eeks.

This is so awesome!!! I get sleeved on March 6th as well by Dr Ortiz... I will also be there on March 5th at the Marriot.

Hi everyone. I am new to the site but have definitely been following the post on here for some time.
I am scheduled to be sleeved with Dr. Francisco Gonzalez in Tijuana on February 26th.

Yay! We are sleeve twins! I will be getting sleeved by Dr Elias Ortiz and ALM on March 6th. I'm really nervous because I am going alone

@@defibvt I was sleeved with Dr. Ortiz in November and he is great! Dr. Morales assists him and he is wonderful too. ALM is a good company that cares about their patients. If you have any questions when you get home, email and they will answer you quickly. I had a very positive experience from beginning to end. Best of luck to all of you! I am having my sleeve done on February 24th with Dr. Gutierrez at Trinity Medical bariatrics

My surgery is Feb. 27th with ALM and Dr. Elias Ortiz. I'm very excited and nervous. I've done my research and i'm ready. Now just playing the waiting game.

@@katyh2015 My surgery is going to be in Tijuana, Mexico. It is going to cost $4400. I get one night in the hospital pre-op, two nights in the hospital and two additional nights in a hotel for recovery before I fly back to Texas. I have already sampled some Protein drinks... any help or personal suggestions are welcomed. Since we are on the subject, what kind of bullion/broth is everyone trying???
