  1. I am 6 months post op after having my surgery in Tijuana Mexico with A Lighter Me and Dr. Ortiz. I had surgery on Feb 27th, 2015. I weighed 207lbs. I now weigh 138lbs. That is a loss of 69lbs. I can't believe it. I will be honest though, the first couple weeks was ROUGH. I was so weak and so tired. I could not get enough liquids in and I couldn't eat very much at all. I came so close to having to get an i.v. with liquids just to get me hydrated. Then adjusting to eating real food was hard because I would always overeat out of habit and it would make me hurt and sometimes even throw up. I learned to eat slow and what my new portions looked like. I would truly say that after the 2 month mark everything gets much better. You feel back to normal and that was great for me. Now I have people saying I need to quit losing weight. As crazy as that sounds it feels insulting. But I am happy and now I enjoy shopping and wearing nice clothes again. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
  2. What items do you think I should take to Tijuana with me? I am leaving this Friday and having same day surgery with ALM and Dr. Elias Ortiz. I'm afraid i'm going to forget something important.

  4. My surgery is Feb. 27th with ALM and Dr. Elias Ortiz. I'm very excited and nervous. I've done my research and i'm ready. Now just playing the waiting game.
  5. Thank you for posting this. This really helped me feel better about my trip at the end of February. I'm glad you had a good experience.
  6. My concern is having surgery in mexico and providing the information that I have to provide showing it was done there. I already want to keep the surgery on the low by only telling the ones I must to be off work but im worried about bringing letters from mexico back and that perception too.
  7. Did any of you have surgery in Mexico? Did they question your note? How long were you off?
  8. Was your work happy with your work note and did it give away that you had surgery? How long were you given off work?

  12. Please let me know how your surgery goes!!! I'm really leaning towards using Elias Ortiz for my surgery as well. This has been so hard to make a final decision.
  13. Its seems to be the biggest topics on what doctor to use and if the experience was a good one but also one of the main reasons of going to mexico is price. So let's hear it
  14. How much did your surgery cost for the single incision?
  15. Anyone know for sure if Dr. Elias Ortiz sews over the staples during gastric sleeve surgery?
  16. Please do let me know how it goes!! I wish you luck and a great trip!
  17. You should be able to get another copy of your birth certificate from your local health department.
