    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

Hello - Well today i hit my 3 week mark. Things continue to go really well. I am honestly eating almost everything that is allowed in the 4-6 wk diet - in proper amounts. I have lost 18 lbs and couldn't be happier. I have had no issues. I feel good. I have energy. I am hydrating. I vomited one time - i gobbled down some chicken and potatoes. I think i had a moment of insanity - i inhaled like i used to and boom! But that was it! Super tool - i bet I don't do that again. I went to a party tonight - everyone complimented me on how fabulous I looked. Made me feel great! On to the next 3 weeks. Best decision I ever made!

    January 2015 Buddy Group anyone?

Hello Hello - It's Wed, not Monday - I'm back. First - THANK YOU for your input, feedback, sharing your stories - I know that what i read and adhered to is largely due to what I read from you all!!!! Surgery 1/24; It went great and it has been relatively smooth sailing through day 5 (today). I followed everyone's advice and walked and as such, had no gas pains. The pain I felt was manageable and by day 2 i felt basic soreness (still do a bit) but nothing that i needed meds for. Drain out before i went home on day 3. I did have some sudden heavy oozing yesterday, but it has subsided - no issues. Rested alot between surgery and part of day 4. Feeling really good today. Went back to work (remotely). I am sipping away and plan by day 7 to start walks! BUT - today, I thought about food a couple of times. I think i read that is normal. Not hungry, not feeling deprived, just thought about food. I stayed with a friend until today. Maybe it was just because I was back in my digs and i am used to eating here? Anyway, pushed through it. I did make a protein shake (chocolate) and sipped slowly. All seems well. I am not weighing yet - haven't weighed since a week before surgery (when i began my 1 week preop diet). Let's see where I land after the swelling, soreness subside. I am watching for your results! sothere

    January 2015 Buddy Group anyone?

Hello Hello.....Congrats to all of you who have moved forward with your surgeries this past week. I am 3 days and counting - 24th. Starting to get a bit scared. Can anyone tell me about this GAS situation - is there anything that we can do in advance to prevent it - or is this the result of the gas they place in us during surgery? Why all the nausea and vomiting - if nothing is going in? I am a newbie, self -pay, foreign country - please respond when able. Thanks

    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

Thank you.....congrats on all of your success.....this is great info, allow me to probe a bit more.... I live in Mexico and live about 40 mins from city. That being said, I plan to shop this weekend for next weekend's surgery..... pain meds/nausea meds will both be liquid and should be enough for a couple of weeks.? Protein drinks...I found a GNC....not like US...does choc mixed w Water count as clear? Jello - probably easier to drink than eat? Not sure about the difference in week 1 v wk 2 liquids. Do you feel hungry. Does your mind work on you to eat like it does pre surgery? If it is really hard to get liquids down at first....how do you get 60 plus oz in a day or is that pre op and after 6 wks post

Well in general any tips... What went well, what didn't? What if anything was different than written or expected? Are you on track... Ahead of plan.... Very different here.... Planning, etc at a minimum... The "you will be fine" approach. No doubt I will be! Thx
