1 week post op - I made it! :)

Hi everyone--

This is my first post, but I've been following everyone's stories on this site for the past year. I've gotten lots of great info and motivation from eveyone's topics, questions and answers.

My surgery was on Jan 20th. I can't believe one week has already gone by. So far, so good! Per my surgeon, I've started adding pureed foods today.

Been taking short walks outside for the past several days, and today walked around the block, which is about half a mile. :P Hopefully that's a good sign that healing is going well.

I'm so thankful I've made this decision, and that I have the first week behind me.

Just wanted to say hello to all of you!

i am one week post op today as well. Woo hoo!!! My follow up is tomorrow. Hopefully getting the rest of these staples out. I have been on liquid since surgery and my next week or two will be adding protien shakes, cottage cheese and greek yogurt. My dr's diet plan doesn't add pureed until week 4 ish. The different diets are funny.

I'm 1 week Post op too!!!! Congrats to@@dellagracie and @lucy0911. I've been taking premier protein shakes since I was discharged. Week 3 is when i start pureed foods. I see the doc tomorrow. Hoping he will add something else to my diet. Than just liquids, broth, and the protein shakes.

So nice to hear that you are doing well. My surgery is Thurs and it feels like every time I look up post op posts people are struggling:(

Thanks everyone for replying! @@Lucy, congrats on being one week out, too. I also find it interesting how there is such a difference in different surgeons pre-op and post-op diets, etc. ?! Go figure.

@@On the Wright track, congrats to you, too, on being oen week out! Woot!

@Joleno---good luck with your sugery in a few days! Please keep us posted.

I'm a day ahead of you, surgery was Jan 19. Overall I'm extremely happy with how everything is going, particularly that I don't feel hungry. But my incisions are itching and driving me nuts and i'm just dog tired. Cleared to go back to work next week but only half time. I'm getting in 50 or so oz of liquid and 60/70 g Protein.

How are the rest of you feeling?

My surgery was on Jan 20th also! We have the same VSG birthday. I call it a birthday because it's the day the new me was born. Congratulations! Sounds like your doing great.

I haven't been able to walk as much as you have, as I have always had severe migraines and developed vertigo after a car accident several years ago, but I'm getting around fairly well. Went to a doctors appointment today and getting in and out of the car was painful.

Are you experiencing any pain still?

Is your abdomen still swollen? If so, what are you doing for the swelling?

I'm glad I found someone who is one week postop too :-)

Awesome!!! I will be at a week saturday and think i will be on pureed as well

Hi all... I had my surgery 1/24 and had a super experience soup to nuts. All good since home... Sipping and meeting my liquid intake including protein. My incisions itch too. I work remotely and returned to work on wed. I am craving more substance... Anyone feeling that way?

Congrats!!!!! I had my sleeve surgery on the 22nd of Jan. At this point I feel it's the best decision of my life.
