  1. Phone, old navy credit card (seriously, get one, or one to some other store that gives clothing as the 'reward.' Buying a new wardrobe every couple of months is godawfully expensive otherwise), gas x, pillow, and something emotionally comforting (bear, blanket, etc).

Do You Eat Breakfast? What Do You Have?

Something different most every day. Yesterday was a handful of cashews, today was kimchee, 1/8 cup of rice and a fried egg.
  4. @, I was 415 in February, I am 235 this morning, and I had the sleeve. If you like, I can email you the graphic organizer I made for myself comparing the 4 most popular surgeries, the pros/cons, costs, risks, etc that helped me make my decision.

    Dairy stops weight loss?

Not in the least, and as someone who owns goats and makes my own cheese, it's a big part of my diet. The catch is that it can be easy to 'miss' the calories as dairy is often liquid or semi-liquid, so some find that it slows their loss, but that's not (usually) something inherent in dairy so much as they up their caloric intake unawares.
  8. Hmm... there is quite the spectrum on OKCupid...

So it turns out my wife is gay...

@@BigTink2LilTink, thanks - and yeah, it's a bit much to pour through. The blog here: gaywifeconfusinglife might be more digestible.
  10. @@reree6898, thanks for the mention! And yep, BariDelicious I love eggface, melting mama, beauty and the sleeve, I also love the vlogger ClusieL on youtube.

@lauraellen80 and @Mountaingal, agreed on all counts - dating websites can be fantastic! I'm just frustrated given the context (see 'so it turns out my wife is gay' in the Mars & Venus collide section, or else gaywifeconfusinglife.blogspot.com.

I've done that eHarmony....I prefer match but they both are good. For me, I live in a very small city, so venturing out this way had made a world of difference!!

Well, despite my therapist's recommendations, I'm not ready to look for dating just yet. OKC, however, has the option to 'look for friends' so I'm giving that a shot. I'll pay the mulah for match once I'm solidly ready for romance.

    New Student Teacher

I was a teacher when I had Sx and am now, 10 months out, a principal. No one really noticed, or if they did they focused on their own shame-spiral of "I wish I had control like you" rather than on "why the change?" If you want some specific strategies I can definitely help - one that was incredible was to address the bane that is the teachers' lounge head-on. "Hey folks, you know how there are always donuts, cakes, etc in the lounge? I'm trying to eat healthier, so I'm going to start bringing in proteins/veggies instead." All of a sudden everyone was on board and it doubled as folks assuming my lunch was so small because I'd 'eaten healthy' on my prep

    things needed post op

Water, laptop, a comfy chair/recliner, ANTINAUSEA MEDS, broth, collagen for broth, crystal light, blankets, movies. The first week or so can be rough, depending on how gassy/nauseous you get. Oh, and good walking shoes!

  22. Yes, yes, and yes and it absolutely works. I've lost 175 in 10 months with little change to my activity level or which foods I eat, just a volume reduction and massive hormonal shift. The reason I opted to finally have Sx was that all the longitudinal research on 'fit but fat' was that at most you've got 10 years with the BMI I had before even with my diet and exercise the fat starts to seriously tear you up. Pre-op I was walking 5-8 miles/day, raising 85% of my own calories and not eating anything junky, I also got a lot of junk-advice from nutritionists who actually were giving GREAT advice for someone who eats standard american but terrible for someone with a healthy diet. Which led to my blog here - check it out, I think you'll find it helpful and I'd love to swap ideas.
