Erik in AZ - Newly Banded - Introduction
Hi everyone! I'm an Arizonian too! I was banded 01/10/2008 by Dr. Blackstone/Scottsdale Bariatric & am very pleased with my surgery, band & the staff support. Erik, I ended up doing the self pay because of BCBS AZ....I was so frustrated & didn't want to wait anymore. Best wishes to you all recovering & those waiting. It's worth all the frustrating & hard work to have true HOPE! Thanks for sharing.

how many fills so far ????
I've received 2 fills for a total of 6 cc. I'm almost 12 weeks out. My next fill is in 4 weeks. How about you?
-
first fill how many cc did you get
I was happy to see this thread. I've been curious what others were experiencing with their fills. I have a Realize 9cc band. 1st fill was 4cc & last Friday I got my 2nd fill with 2cc. I'm comfortable, I still don't have to chew bite into mush but I'm very aware I'm satisfied with less food. I'm enjoying the opportunity to learn more about myself & changing my habits. Thanks for all your sharing.

I need a swift kick in the...
Thanks Phowell, that does sound like fun. My GDs are 8 & 10, we could have alot of fun with that. I do have bad knees, but they are already better with the weight loss. You're all doing great with your challenge! Keep up the good work.

I need a swift kick in the...
Phowell - You go girl! You're doing great. I searched internet for Dance Dance Revolution.....all that came up was video games. Could you tell us a little about it or website? I think I could start out with something like that if I take it easy on my knees. Also, anyone have ideas on turkey neck exercises? All of the sudden yesterday I saw my chin & neck. :tt2: Loose skin & wrinkles! If it was my tummy or butt, at least I could cover it up with clothes. I didn't do any exercise yet, as I commited to for Sat & Sun, but I cleaned my equipment, hung a couple incentive pics, plugged in my stereo....the room is ready:unsure:...now I have to work on me! Hope everyone has a great week! Carol

Hey! I'd love to be in on the March Challenge too! I'm like Ang, I have not been motivated, I'm five weeks out and it is time. Thanks to everyone for sharing & the "straight" talk. I'll "Just Do It" & quit whinning about it. I'll be happier with myself. Thanks!

Second fill yesterday
Hi Knockouts! I got my first fill on Friday, 2/15, a little uncomfortable but ok & was glad it's over pretty fast. I still don't feel like I did the first week or 10 days, but it's definately better than no fill. I was feeling like I was eating too much. I have to wait 5 weeks for another. CHRISANN - glad to see you're doing well after the trouble you had right after surgery. Good job.

Any January bandsters lifting weights yet?
WestCoastFatGuy! You made me laugh out loud! Thanks, I needed that. On the working out with weights.......my doc insists no Eliptical or Box Flex/weights until 8 weeks post op. Walking & Bike is it for me. But I haven't been motivated at all & I know that has to happen.

Banded and doing well. Sry I didn't post sooner!
Congratulations Redtulips! I made it too! I was banded at 8:00 A.M. on Thursday and this is my first post. I didn't start feeling human until Saturday night and today only used tylenol so that helped clear my head. I ended up staying longer than I planned at the hospital. My bladder decided not to function, a result of the anesthsia. It took a Foley cath to take care of the problem until I was able to go on my own. Other than that, I walked well right away, no problem, the gas was a little tough, but when you know it's coming you just deal with it. I'm glad it's all done, I'm thrilled to know I'm banded, was really happy to move to the soft Proteins today. But I was almost scared to eat. I didn't know a teaspoon of cottage cheese could taste so wonderful. Oh! And my 1st shower was heaven! Awe-the little things. Planning on going to work tomorrow, IF I can button my jeans, still bloated a bit. If I work I'll play it by ear, maybe work 1/2 day. Thanks to everyone for your support & sharing of your experiences! Best wishes to all of you scheduled this week for surgery. Carol
