  1. She passed away with Alzheimer's. Her death is hitting me harder than I thought it would.
  2. Um, raising her hand here, I would say I am anorexic or at least anorexic tendencies. I have not dropped below 113, however, I can't seem to get myself to eat enough to get above 119. My Surgeon wants me at 140 (top of my BMI). Counselor and Nutritionist are trying to get me to 125. To compound the issues, my Mom passed away last Saturday. These last two weeks have been very stressful.
  3. Amanda, How are you doing today? Any update?
  4. I use the Jennie-O Sausage or the one from Aldi.
  5. I need some advice. I am 14 months out after having RNY. Recently, I got out the hospital 10 days ago after an 8 day stay. I have several health issues going on. Including a complex ovarian cyst that I am seeing an Oncologist about this coming Thursday. Additionally, I have become borderline if not actually, anorexic. I have been told by my surgeon (threatened in a polite way) to get back to 140. I am 5 ft 4 and currently weigh 119. I was 234 at surgery time. I was down to 113 back in December. Then fluctuated between 113 and 116. Then up to 119 since being admitted to the hospital. I am at the bottom of my BMI. Anyway, I was admitted via the ER for abdominal pain. I had all kinds of test and exploratory surgery (he did fix a small hernia he found), My intestines are not plump like they should be, for lack of another term. Pretty much they think I have Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), possible now lactose intolerant and maybe issues with fruit. The other thing is, contents goes through my digestive track very fast. Which could be causing dumping.??? I am on antibiotic for the SIBO and told not to have fruit or lactose. I am also anemic. Needless to say, it makes a mess of trying to find something to eat. Trying to gain 20 pounds, stay lowfat, low sugar. I need suggestions for dairy, like cheese and yogurt. What brands should I look for? We have Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Fresh Thyme etc. where I live. I also have to drink 5 Protein shakes a day. For the record, I am seeing the Nutritionist and Counselor at the Surgeons office. I may have to switch to an eating disorder clinic. I realize, it may come to that. Thank you in advance.
  6. My biggest fear is regain. In fact I am obsessive about it and now have anorexic tendencies. I am terrified of regain. I just got out of the hospital last Wednesday after an 8 day stay. I see a lot of posts and articles about regain, but very little about anorexia or bulimia after weight loss surgery. I do realize it is a control issue. Before I ate for comfort, now I am using the control with the scale.
  7. Oscar Meyer has Protein packs. Combo of Turkey, chicken or ham. Then it has Cheddar or Colby cheese cubes and the center of the pack is nuts (almonds or peanuts). It is about 160 calories and 12-13 grams of protein. Many stores carry them. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Oscar-Mayer-P3-Chicken-Breast-Cheddar-Cheese-Dry-Roasted-Peanuts-Portable-Protein-Pack-2-oz/34129198
  8. Getting my menu's organized I think will greatly help me in tracking my food intake. Adding to my agenda for the weekend.
  9. My insurance does not cover Protein drinks. I also tried and was denied.
  10. Oh man, I am struggling with this. I need to do this, but having difficulty being consistent.
  11. Thank you!
  12. My balance is really bad. Another area I need to work
  13. I am printing this out. Thank you!
  14. Very timely! Thank you all for the gentle push to get back to logging my food.
  15. Now, I am getting excited with my decision to pursue this.
  16. I had Total Knee Replacement of my left knee this past June. Will I be okay with my knee?
  17. I am interested in trying yoga for the first time. I filled out an application for a Yoga Scholarship. Crossing my fingers. Anything I need to know? My surgeon wants me to gain weight. I also need help with relaxation and flexibility. I am scared to try this. Eventhough, I am below goal weight, I am an out of shape 50 year old. Sigh..
