  1. I am 9 months out and my surgeon told me this back week to go back on two shakes a day. I am not hungry and I am not able to get all my Protein in.
  2. What about making a popsicle out of it?
  3. Is there a list of companies that send out free samples? I saw one this past week and failed to write down where it was so I could go back to it. :-( I am not sure which site I saw it at.
  4. I had Gastric Bypass 12/18/14. I have a question about pain meds. I had Total Knee Replacement in June, Thumb CMC Arthroplasty with Tendon Transfer in July, yesterday Gallbladder surgery and on Wednesday I will be have the same hand surgery but on my right hand. I am having a terrible time with pain meds. Most of them are not working for me. Could my Gastric Bypass be the cause? The meds either do not work or wear off very quickly.
  5. My surgeon said those words. He did not explain. It doesn't matter at this point. My ulcer is much better. As it turns out the pain is from my gallbladder. I had an ultrasound. I am having my gallbladder out this Thursday.
  6. Huh? This is the Gastric Bypass section. I had Gastric Bypass in December 2014. Lapband is not possible after Gastric Bypass. I wouldn't ever have it anyway.
  7. No possible. I had Gastric Bypass.
  8. I was diagnosed with an ulcer a month ago (I think it is called a marginal ulcer) after having and Endoscopy. I was put on three meds and tomorrow I have a follow-up Endoscopy. if it is still there and or no better, I will be put on three new meds and then another Endoscopy in another month. If it is not better after that Endoscopy, we are looking a revision surgery. Anyone else have or has had this? My surgeon didn't want to go into what the revision would be. I have not been able to find any information online.
  9. I had and Endoscopy this morning to see if I had a Stricture. Well, the results was not what I was expecting. Turns out, I have a marginal ulcer. He said it is a pretty good size and deep. He did Biopsy it. I will be on three different meds for the next month. Then I go back for another Endoscopy. Anyone else have this? I had Gastric Bypass 12/18/14.
  10. That is a good point. How many more Americans are going to Mexico or other countries for these procedures? @Alex do you have stats?
  11. I generally stay away from McDonalds because I don't find their salads satisfying. Wendt's I like the BBQ chicken salad or chili.
  12. Actually Noodles & Company have Buff Bowls, They swap noodles for spinach. I had one a couple of weeks ago and it was excellent. http://www.noodles.com/buffbowls/
  13. I generally do. But sometimes, you don't have time to make something. Or you just want to eat out. Those are the times for ideas. I usually get a chopped salad from Subway. But you get tired of that.
  14. Which pizza places will do low carb? I thought I read at one time places that will do sauce, toppings and cheese. Now I can't remember who. Was it Pizza Hut? What other places will alter their menu to make it bariatric/low carb friendly? Running out of ideas on where to grab lunch during the work week.

  19. Fantastic information! I never dreamed of having Gastric Bypass Surgery. In my mind I always felt it was out of reach to me. But for the last three years I have worked for a large Midwest hospital system which has a wonderful Weight-loss Surgery Program. I jumped at the opportunity to have my surgery this past December. I have wonderful support from my family, physicians and co-workers.
  20. Great ideas! Yep. Hubby will handle the grill. Kids can help me put a salad together.
  21. Any ideas? Will be for our family of 5 (2 adults and 2 small children). I had total knee replacement two weeks ago. So I am limited in being able to stand and cook. Hmm, I wonder if we have a bar stool downstairs? LOL
