  1. My bmi is around 41. I was banded three days ago. I have not lost any weight since banding...is that normal? Don't want to get discouraged too soon but man. Am I expecting too much too soon??? Please let me hear from somebody. Congrats on all of your success.
  2. Hi there. I see you were banded 5 days before I was. HOW ARE YOU DOING? WHAT ARE YOU EATING? ARE YOU FEELING LIKE YOU THOUGHT YOU WOULD? I am very curious what others are experiencing. Have you been weighing yourself? I would love to "link up" with someone that has a date close to mine. HAPPY THANKSGIVING to you and yours.
  3. Hello All...How is everyone doing?I am now three days post op and feeling prettty good. I was extremely hungry yesterday. Anyone else experiencing that? That scared me to death. I ate things like sugar free pudding, broth, crystal light, and Water. I think that was too much too fast. I've decided that today that I will stick to water, crystal light, and maybe a small amount of broth. My mom is downstairs making a delightful traditional Thanksgiving that smells divine. Feeling a little ambivelant. On one hand, I could kick myself for not waiting until after the holiday. On the other hand, I knew that I was at the end of my rope and couldn't wait a moment longer to do this. Hopefully, I will soon be able to see the weight loss and know that I made the right decision. I would love to hear back from you all and know how you are feeling physically and emotionally. Take care!
  4. Hi everyone. I too am being banded on the 20th. I am soooooooooo excited. I am ready to unleash this hot momma inside. Lol. I am just so excited that I will have tool that will help me reach my goal. I have a very active and beautiful eight yr old that I need to be around for. Also, need to enjoy life while I am here with her and we know how this excess weight affects everything we do. Good luck to all of you and you are in my prayers. God Bless, Speedy recovery, and lots of safe/healthy weight loss to each of you!
  5. Hello all...I guess I am new to the site as I have only posted a reply. I feel at home however, because I have been coming to this site for the last two to three weeks. I joke to a girlfriend of mine (who is also going to be a "bandster") that this site has become my official bedtime story. Lol. Just a quick intro... I am a thirty five year old RN who is a mother to an absolutely amazing eight yr old. I decided that after struggling with my weight for most of my life, that the lap band was the tool that I needed to assist me with reaching a healthy weight. I, like most everyone else, have tried every diet known to man. I could always loose, but could never keep it off. Once I decided that I would go with the band, I made the phone call to my ins. co...EXCLUSION!!! :angry You know what that means. If I was going to have this surgery, and in my mind rid myself of this weight for good, I would have to come up with $15,000 smackaroos. Well I did it and I am now2 days away from surgery :whoo:!! Yes, Tues Nov. 20th at 7 AM I will join the ranks of the "bandsters. I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED. Please keep in your prayers and any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Any advice for the near future?? I am all ears (eyes). I am looking forward to the additions to my new family...You guys. God Bless!!
  6. GO BACK!!! I have not been banded (2 days til surgery) but I am a Registered Nurse. Anytime I hear someone say anything about feeling throat tightening or restriction, It screams MEDICAL EMERGENCY to me. I know that you are excited about your weight loss (and I am so excited for you as well). However, you can't go on like this. I hope things work out for you...Good luck and congrats on your third baby!!
