Not telling people about your surgery is a "half truth" or a "lie" steams me like a pile of fresh cow dung...
So what you're saying is that in all the scenarios I listed in my original post, you would give full details? Really? Ask me how my Friday night was, I'll tell you "great - had an awesome date, great dinner, spent a lot of time together, can't wait to do it again." If I post the details here, Alex will put me in a major time-out. Am I lying? Am I not being truthful? Life isn't court - the truth, the whole truth, etc.... doesn't mean you're lying.

Women....painful sex after WLS?
Three weeks???? I didn't even wait three weeks after a C-section! Maybe your surgeon thinks missionary, man-on-top is the only position.

A Motorcyclist NSV
Well you thought WRONG, mister! Didn't you know that riding a bike is akin to foreplay for some women????

not able to eat lunch with co-workers
"I've been having stomach issues lately. I'd really rather not talk about it, thank you for understanding." Not a lie.

Doesn't ticker update in old posts?
@@Alex Brecher Mine still hasn't updated since yesterday. I see a blue top and white pants in my avatar, but when I go to my profile, it's a white top and skirt and a black and white jacket.

Doesn't ticker update in old posts?
Sometimes my ticker takes a while to update. I uploaded a new avatar pic today, and when you look at my profile, you see it. When you look at my posts, it's the old one.

Does your lady feel safe? (what do women want?)
Well you can't leave us just hanging here. Was it everything she said it would be???

Does your lady feel safe? (what do women want?)
I got the book and skimmed a few chapters. Looks like it's going to be a good read.

Pain meds
You won't know if you really need it if you take it around the clock, unless you can feel it wear off before your next dose. That's why they have pain pumps that you can activate yourself in the hospital - if you don't need it, you don't push the button. I work for a pain management doctor, and Percocet is prescribed "as needed for pain" in our practice.

Does anyone else feel this way: What if it doesn't work for me?
I'm 8 months out and 155 pounds down. Every time I get on the scale I expect it to read 400 pounds, not 250, 249, 248. Every time I put on a piece of clothing that was too small, and is now too big, I expect it to be some sort of mistake. Every time I sit in a chair with arms, I expect that I won't fit, but I do. I was positive when I started this that I would be someone it wouldn't work for.

Why didn't I know how bad it's gotten?
I wouldn't. Then the next person who needs one may not have one available. I have never been embarrassed when I asked for one. They either slipped it to me right there (when you first pass the galley on the plane), or they'll bring it to my seat and slip it to me, very casually and surreptitiously.

Can we have popcorn?
My sleeve sounds like James Earl James. Just imagine Darth Vader standing behind you saying... do... not.... eat.... that.

Losing shoe size?
I'm at 8 months out, and all of my shoes are too big and have had to be replaced. I suppose it depends on if you have "fat feet" or not... I know some bigger girls with very skinny feet.
-
Can we have popcorn?
I was allowed after six months; I'm 8 months now and still haven't had any yet.

5 days post op - No BM - can't get ahold of doc
Were you on a liquid diet before surgery? And you've been on liquid after surgery.... there may be nothing there to pass. As long as you're not in pain, IMHO, I wouldn't worry.

Surgery woes: Grandpa begged me not to have the surgery
Her surgeon practices in San Jose. If you were closer, I would take you. I'm a few hours away, and have some things tomorrow that I can't reschedule.

Does your lady feel safe? (what do women want?)
I haven't read it yet, but I will. Wayyyyy back in my twenties, there were six of us playing a board game, I think it was called "Scruples". It involved a situation and a "what would you do?" response. I distinctly remember this question - you see a person walking toward a strip mall toting what looks like a large, heavy laundry bag. You know the Laundromat at the strip mall is closed. What do you do? All of the men said they would stop and tell the person, and maybe even give them a ride home. All of the women said, "well............" and the men jumped our collect sh*t. We had to explain to them that women (in general) think about our safety all the time. Did the person look homeless? Were they talking to themselves? Was it a big scary looking person? Was the sack dry or could it be holding a body in pieces? Was there a blood trail?? Was the person walking with young children or were they alone? The men were just flabbergasted. They said how do you go through life always being afraid? And we explained that it was more "on alert" than always afraid.

Plantar Fasciitis
I had it years ago, then suddenly got it again last year. The frozen Water bottle didn't help me as much as a bag of frozen peas under my foot. Maybe because I could sit there longer with the peas (because I didn't have to concentrate on rolling the water bottle). I would rest my foot on a bag of peas at work, at my desk, as well as at home. I just realized the other day that I haven't had foot pain in a couple of months now.

How long do you have to crush your pills?
Same here. No pill crushing.

Honestly, what is everyone eating 1-3 yrs post op
Okay, I have to ask... at 5 weeks out why would you even TRY to eat anything except Beans or the innards of a meat burrito from taco bell? If you're hungry, it could be acid. Ask your doctor about a PPI (proton pump inhibitor, like zantac, omeprazole, etc.).

Concerned because of sisters weightloss failures.
If you know why your sisters were not successful, then you have some powerful knowledge to put to good use. You know what doesn't work. You know what you don't want to do. Good luck!

waiting for surgery and my dr. gets rushed to surgery!
Maybe you can walk the halls together.
