I didn't tell anyone in my family except my husband. I didn't want to be judged either. My step-daughter had a friend that got the gastric bypass and she just couldn't understand why her friend was "taking the easy way out" My mom would be much like your sister and I sure don't want my brother's wives knowing. I also do not have any problems with rice. In fact I haven't had any problems at all. BUT...I am too afraid to try bread or anything crispy. I love chicken and it has gone down really well. I've heard a lot of people can't eat chicken either. Carrie in TX 222/206/125

I got mine at 3 weeks. I was fine. Afterwards just fluids for the rest of the day and mushies the next. Carrie:)

I didn't have a c-section, but 10 years ago I had a hysterectomy. I have a 7" long bikini cut scar right above my hairline. When the doctor was reading my history he asked me what kind of scar I had. He said the bikini scar would not interfer at all. I was banded on 7/25/05.

Well, I'm hungry the minute I wake up. Sometimes its all I can do to wait until 9:00 AM to eat my little breakfast. However, if I am on the go early in the morning it doesn't bother me at all. Go figure!

You know - some people just don't get it and they are never going to get it (especially skinny people)....we have to do what is best for ourselves!

Well, I am 4 weeks post-op and yesterday when I woke up all the swelling was gone. Just like that! I can hardly feel my port anymore. The whole area finally looks normal. I don't understand it either, but it happened overnight!

I also had the super glue.....it was great. You can bathe right away and within a week, lots of the glue had peeled off.

Sounds yummy alright! I may look for them.

Hi - I did not use your doctor, but I had my band on 7/25/05 in Memorial Herman Hospital at the Medical Center on Fannin. They were very professional and I had a very good experience. I went in at 5:30 AM - had my surgery at 7:30 AM - and I was home by noon.
