    Dry hair/hair loss

I took Biotin, sprayed rosemary Water (boiled rosemary, let it cool, put it in a spray bottle and added a few drops of lavender) in my hair and scalp a few times a week and massaged my scalp for about 10 - 15 minutes. I also didn't wash my hair a lot. Co-washed it and didn't put much stress on my hair by pulling it back tight. I also ate more dense Protein versus cheese, Protein shakes or Beans. My hair stayed shiny, strong and didn't fall out. best wishes

    Regain

Hello Yes this is a tough stage. I'm at about 18 months out. I've noticed that I can eat things I couldn't eat the first year after surgery. I went back to drinking more Water, being more active and lowering my caloric intake. I go up 6 - 10 pounds and then back down when I focus. I realized I lacked planning my meals for the day and that would put me into trouble when I was out and about. My advice, lower your caloric intake, exercise, drink more water and plan your meals. Also, try and remember to take your time when you eat and definitely don't eat and drink at the same time. Find dense Protein to eat versus softer mushy foods. I've had to do all these things to just maintain versus gain. Best wishes.

    Bringing in the NEW YEAR

I'm over a year and a half and I haven't tried a drink yet. Not because I'm scared of the side affects but because I hear of WLS patients turning into big drinkers. Socially we are out more and partying more so naturally we would have a drink or 4 before surgery. It's even more important to control that behavior and ask yourself, do I really need an alcoholic drink to bring on the new year? Not worth ruining your night or developing a bad habit. Take it easy and enjoy your healthier life. I'm glad you asked this question because I'm sure there are tons of people who wanted to. Enjoy your new year!!!

    Feeling Frustrated and Disappointed...

All the appointmentsame for Dr visits to see even if you were eligible, orientation, nutrition and even a couselor appointment all count as part of your be months if they weighed you every time which they all do. So think back to when you first started talking about it with your Dr and it is probably noted in your records of the surgery and current weight.

    I wish I knew.....

Wish I knew about the positive affects of the surgery a long time ago. Lots of horror stories years ago and that scared me. Glad someone told me to research different websites and get on blogs such as this one to get real information from real patients. I made adjustments 4 months before surgery and which enabled me to adjust quickly to the eating changes and how and what to eat. I didn't have any hair loss, dry skin or any other major issues. I'm a year in May 30th of this year. I still have 40 pounds to go to my goal. I had gastric bypass.

    Is My pouch stretched?

Thank you for all the responses. I have gone to a nutrionist and they how lowered my caloric intake 1000 a day. I realize, I need to continue eating the proper way and I still need to focus. It's so easy to to slip into bad habits. I'm still very frustrated., but I'm sure I will figure out.

    Gained 20lbs in 6 months

I'm struggling too.... I'm 6 months out and I believe what James is saying. I better get on track now and refrain from slipping back into old eating habits. I realized that once you are honest with yourself about your eating habits, you now see what you need to do. That helped me too. Keep posting on your progress.. And you will get back on track.

    Is My pouch stretched?

I am 6 months out and down 80 pounds. I am now realizing I can consume a lot more food even chocolate, bread, rice and pasta with no side affects. Does anyone think I have malabsorption problems or have stretched my pouch? If so... What do I do? I still have 53 pounds to go to reach my goal weight. Please help, I have downloaded my fitness pal app to start tracking my calories and nutrition.
