  1. Hi Ivy, I have watermelon in my fridge right now! I can start it tomorrow and can't wait. I also bought some yogurt. It takes me about an hour and a half to drink a protein shake, how are you doing with it? I am able to drink normally pretty much which is nice, but try to take small drinks.
  2. How bout Lurch, like from the Adam's Family Show? He was big and ferocious, in a sweet kind of way.
  3. Ivy, I am doing great! Down 9 pounds since surgery, unbelievable!
  4. Thank you for the well wishes! The countdown has begun, can't wait to meet you ladies!
  5. Bookgirl, I am having surgery on the 30th with Aceves. I think there are like 7 of us around a day or two from each other.Hope to get to meet you!
  6. I had mentioned to someone about possibly upgrading to first class if there is room and they said they might not let me board if they know I just had surgery.... what do you guys think about this? Can they deny you to board if you have a ticket for heavens sakes?
  7. When you did your pre-op high protein, low carb diet, what types of foods did you eat? I know meat, but did you stick to lower fat choices like chicken and fish, or did you eat beef and pork also? Does it matter as long as it is high protein? I have done Atkins before but wanted to see if eating lower fat made any difference. Thanks for your help.
  8. Ok girls, it's countdown time! Woohoo for us! How are you feeling? I have been a little nervous and crying but last night, I gave it up to God and He is gonna take it from here! I started my pre-op diet today, hope I do well on it. Hope to hear from you, if not, I will see you all next week.
  9. Hi Donna, nice to hear from you! Yes, I am nervous as all get out. I would love to meet you also. Including you, there will be 5 of us there at the same time, Myself (Mari), Judy, Sue and Trudy. It is comforting to know some others from the sites will be there. I keep thinking in 2 weeks, it'll all be over and my journey begins. I weigh quite a bit more than you, I am 50. I would like to lose at least 150 pounds, whew, that seems insurmountable. Let's keep in touch, Mari
  10. I had heard and read that he uses a general anesthesia and also gives you a spinal for more pain control. Can someone clarify for me? Please!
  11. Oh and Lizzy is my "stage name" but you gals can call me Mari, that's Mary with an i.
  12. I can't wait to meet you both! I am both excited:biggrin0: and scared $#@&less!:glare: Having lots of anxiety. I have not packed anything yet,but have been thinking of a few things. What are you girls packing? Are you taking your own pj's? Or will you change into clothes a day or so after surgery? Heating pad and gas X is first on my list and someone suggested bringing along those little seasoning packets from ramen noodles to make a soup out of on the airplane. I know Ky.hen and I are coming from kinda the same area, Trudy, where are you coming from? My husband is coming with me.
  13. Trudy, I am happy you will be there also, you, me and Ky.hen, I am sure we will cross paths in the hallways. I feel comforted that you will both be there when I am!
  14. Can you please tell me how much weight you lost during the high protein pre-op diet and how long you did it? Thanks so much! Oops, I spelled Aceves wrong in the title, you think I would not miss a key as many times as I have typed it.
  15. Thanks for the tip, I found one gal who is having surgery with Aceves the day I fly in, hopefully we can meet! Thanks also for the encouragement about Aceves, I have heard nothing but great things about him and staff!
