shakes and protein questions
I only used a straw for the thickness part. I understand that we are not suppose to drink through a straw... Something I will greatly miss.....

Another food question yet again!
I have way to much time on my hands so I sit here and think I wonder if and I wonder that.. Question 1. I always did better on diets when I used their pre packaged meals, now I know that I will be on a liquid diet but afterwards and trying to get started eating right has anyone used the lean cuisine type meals.

shakes and protein questions
Ok I know that all I do is ask a lot of questions but this site is so awesome and all of you give great answers... So here is my questions I am in search of what to buy for my post band diet.. I don't have to do a pre band diet but I think its time that I find what I will be able to tolerate taste wise. I love fruit and there was a site called Vitalady.com that has protien supplements, also when you are on the post diet can you mix "real fruit" in the shake as long as you can drink it through a straw. Second give me ideas on what else is out there for the liquid diet... Thanks for your help:lol:

Help looking for guidance and ticked off!
I went today for my upper GI, no problems found  However, the Lap band procedure is taking place aprx. 2 hrs away, though when I originally me with a surgeon I met him in Bakersfield it wasn't until I received a letter from the insurance that I found out it was to be done in West Hills... I called the local office and she said yes the surgery will be done in West Hills but all the follow ups will be here in Bakersfield, with my same surgeon. I go today for my GI and find that my surgeon is no longer with them and the one that will be replacing him said that he will do the surgery but if I wanted him to do the fills then I would have to travel to West Hills for that and all follow ups... It really isn't the drive its the price of gas. What if I change surgeons do I have to start the process all over getting approval for the insurance or should I just stick it out... Really ticked off right now!

Got approved then Got SCARED!!!
I really expected this to be a fight I thought the insurance would look over my request and say well lets try the 6 month diet... Well not at all the authorization request was submitted July 3rd and the surgeon called me yesterday stating that it had been approved. I travel approx. 1 hr each way to and from work.. so it gives me plenty of time to think... I started doubting myself thinking I failed at every diet I ever went on. I am a glutton when I eat.. I take as my husband calls it HUGE bites... and drink like 4-5 glasses of Water or tea when I eat... how in the heck am I going to re-train my eating habits... I lay in bed at night thinking wow one day I might wear a size 10-12 again. Then I think,, "yeah right"... Wow very screwed up in the head right now from excited to paniced!:confused2:

Oh so scared
I guess I would call myself the bored eater... My hunny goes to bed real early because he is up early.. So I watch tv or play on the computer and think that the refrigerator is calling my name. My husband is one of those guys who can eat anything and have no consequences. I am just the opposite he eats it I gain it. What happens after the band, from what I read I won't lose the desire to be that bored eater, am I still going to eat and gripe at myself the next day. I need to lose this weight my knees hurt so bad and my mother is heavy and had both knees replaced.. I am scared what if I fail.. I have tried WW, JC, NS & numerous more thousands of dollars and failed nearly everytime. Will I change I am so scared... Sorry needed to vent... Still in the insurance process... :confused2:

Blue Cross Anthem Question
My paperwork has been submitted and waiting to hear from insurance. Did anyone call the insurance themselves to find out anything or did you wait for the surgeon to handle it all. I don't want to jinx it but I am dying to find out!:Angel_anim:

"Top Surgeons"
I have an appointment tomorrow for the lap band orientation. They have already called me and confirmed that my insurance(if approved) will pay 90%. But I don't know where to begin... What if I don't like the surgeon, I didn't go through my regular doctor because I work with them and they believe in the good old fashion weight loss program.. (Tried and failed.) Is there anyone here from Bakersfield, California area.. This group of doctors also work in the Beverly Hills area. Just looking to see if anyone has any information.. I wonder if this is really going to happen...:rolleyes2:

Worried
Ok, I am not at the 40 bmi, I am at 37, I have high blood pressure, HIGH HIGH cholesterol over the 300 the medicine makes my body feel like it has the flu. So the PA I work for said that it is going to have to come down naturally. My weight is 235lb and 5'5" tall... So going to the orientation on Saturday. Husband is not supportive as of yet, I am very scared. I worry that I will fail at this too.. Then everyone will say look she can't even lose weight with the lap band. Has any one went in with less. My knees are killing me. My mom is heavy and had both knees replaced, and that tur:confused2:ned out bad... I guess I just don't know what to do... Any advice, Jill

General Questions
I was wondering if anyone can actually fill your band. Is it uncomfortable? I am worried that the band itself will bother me... I know it sounds really weird but that makes me the most nervous..

Just a few questions
I am waiting to switch insurances so for now I am just reading and learning..
If you don't mind answering a few questions, your help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a nervous picker... If I have a bump on my arm I constantly touch it or pick at it... is the port going to be something that is noticed easy? I hate to write that but that has been one of my concerns. What happens if you really really get hungry? Do you miss food during the liquid diet and how did you over come your desires? How long before you felt that the lap band was apart of you? In other words how long before you felt normal? Do you get to eat steak or anything like that on occasions?? Thanks for you answers:faint:
