Congrats! I can't imagine how you feel. I have never weighed under 300lbs in my adult life. So, getting under 300lbs and then under 200lbs will be amazing!

Welcome and congrats on the surgery and weight loss! That's not a bad pic at all, it's just how we all look in the hospital!

Hi everyone I'm Jasmin from Israel, and I'm very new to this group. I had my surgery this sunday November 16th.
A week before surgery I was 235 ils and now I'm 217 so not so bad. In the two days since I joined this forum I've read so much and learn so much from you guys so I just wanted to say thank you and good luck for all of us. J

Every doc is so different. ..im only 7 days post op and already allowed pureed. And I didn't have the strict pre-op diet either. I think its normal to have moments of regret. I think that comes with all change. You have to find your new rythum.

My last supper was my absolute favorite! Spaghetti and meatballs. I figured I might never see spaghetti again and I wanted to say goodbye. Pasta is definitely a trigger food for me.
I never even considered "cheating" on the pre op diet. I knew that the purpose was to shrink my liver to make surgery safest for me. I was absolutely going to have the best best possible outcome and recovery.
I also knew once I decided to move forward with something, I have a ton of will power and can do anything. I feel like I fought too hard and it was important to keep my eye on the prize.
I am 7 weeks post op. I have dropped 4 clothing sizes, off all diabetes meds and off many other meds. I am not stopping for anything. I have not felt this good in years!
You can do this! The first couple days are the hardest. Keep your eye on the prize!
Good luck and keep us posted!

Sorry you are feeling so poorly. We have all been there...
Acid does feel like hunger, many of us were put on PPIs for the first few months post op since the tummy produces more than our small capacity needs and it takes awhile to settle down.
Also, my NUT told me that the nerves are cut and sensations are wonky/not to be trusted the first approx 6 weeks. In the early months, I ate by the clock and measuring spoon/cup rather than intuitively based on hunger. i did switch to intuitive eating probably 3-4 months post op and have been doing that since then.
I am nearly 3 years post op.
One thing that helped me get through the gray days was looking at people's before and afters, reading inspiring stories and visualizing success. It helps to keep focus on the why you did this in the first place and what your aspirations and dreams of success are. Down the road, when you are feeling good, looking good, improved health etc., what you are going through now will be a distant memory. Hang in there.

don't be a douche. Either offer some support or keep your mouth shut. We all go through our stages. From what I read it's very normal. I am appreciative to the others who have given great insight and makes sense. 2 days to pureed!

That is awesome we will be 1 day apart! I have to agree, the weight is definitely doing more damage! I wish you the best of luck jeanniebeannie and I hope you stay in touch so we can chat after our surgeries. How is your diet going? Is it liquid only like mine? I was struggling a bit until I got a big cup of ice chips to munch on that help soooo much with my cravings to snack.< /p>
