  1. Hi Susan and everyone else Felling good today but think Im eating to much, yesterday I ate almost a whole sandwich with no problem:glare: Im 2 weeks p/o and my dr dosent do a fill until 6 weeks:confused: so how much weight have you all lost? I think Im at like like 12-13 pounds:closedeyes:
  2. Thanks for the great info Hunzi, Karen, that recipe sounds yummy. Well I statred mushies and Im feeling like I have NO restriction, how about you guys? I lost about 10-12 pounds, was hoping for more but I'll take what I can get:smile: Im feeling great, just some tenderness in the port area.
  3. First off I wanted to ask a question. My Dr told me my band is empty and they dont fill it until 6 weeks post op. I just started mushies but feel like I can eat like I did before the banding:eek: I have no restriction. Is this normal???
  4. My pain was very minimal also. Day 2-3 was the worst and even then I only took tylenol. My port area is still sore (Im 11 days post-op). I have 3 boys and I was doing my normal Mom stuff just 3-4 days after surgery, like I had never had it:tongue:
  5. So can I ask you "pro" bandsters what do you eat on a normal basis after your liquid/mushy phase? I feel like I was not given a proper nutrition guideline and really have no idea what to do.
  6. Im going crazy with the liquids :smile2: I have really BAD Diahrhea since Ive been home from the hospital and it's not getting better, how about you guys???
  7. Is anyone else finding it weird not to be eating, I make dinner for the family and watch them eaat and must admit it's depressing. Also, I have a lot of redness around my port incision, how about you guys? I hope everyone is well. I went for a post-op yesterday and was horrified with the black guck that comes out of the incisions:ohmy: but was told it was normal Ive lost 7 pounds, was hoping for more but I know that is still a lot especially for my BMI:closedeyes:
  8. Hi Annie, glad you are feeling well, I go through spurts of energy and then crash. Had a hard time sleeping last night too with some anxiety issues:rolleyes: my stomach is making sounds i never thought possible wth??? also, Im still pretty dizzy, hope that wears off, my husband goes to work tommorow and Im on my own with 3 boys:ohmy:
  9. Hi Rachel, glad you are felling well, it sounds to me like you need more Protein, the vinegar and oil just dosent seem like a good idea either but I could be wrong. what about Protein shakes?
  10. Hello my fellow Long Islanders:lol: Im officially 3 days post op and feeling pretty good, the anesthesia has me feeling a bit groggy and tired but really the pain is minimal. stopped the pain killers yesterday:tongue: I really could use some advice on what to eat, Im not getting enough Protein. Any advice would be great Oh and the best part is Im down 11 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. wooohoooo, Im here and done. Al went so well, better then expected:w00t: Im definitely more tired then I thought, I guess it's the percocet. Just trying to figure out what to eat

  13. Oh My it's getting so close for us. Of course the closer it gets the more afraid I become. Im afraid Im going to lead a life of throwing up and gagging, I think thats my biggest fear
  14. OK, I admit it, I was supposed to start yesterday and I didn't. Now Im scared, maybe Im not ready. I just can't do it:sad:

  17. Ok so I had my final appointment today and Im FREAKING out. Did anyone have second thoughts???
  18. Hi All, Im so super excited to announce my insurance approved my surgery and Im scheduled for March 25th!!!!!!!!! I Just can't believe it but now the panic sets in that Im really doing this.ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! So tell me, I have a BIG reunion coming up in July which will be 3.5 months post op How much weight do you think I will loose by then?? Also, did EVERYONE do a week of a liquid diet? Ive heard conflicting info.
  19. Thank You Christine. Also, my other worry is the liquid diet I must follow 5 days prior to surgery. Lay it on me........how bad was it?
  20. Hi All, hope your holidays were great. Im 2 appointments away from being scheduled for surgery. I have to get my upper GI and gallbladder/liver sono. Im getting excited and less apprehensive. Im just praying my insurance approves me, Dr. Mehta thinks they will with no problem but I have a low BMI (im right on the border). Here is a question for you, how ling should I have my Dh take off of work? I have 3 kids but none I have to lift
  21. I have 2 more appiontments before Im scheduled for surgery (upper Gi and liver/gallbladder sono) So Im thinking sometime in February. Im not gonna lie, Im scared Im gonna regret it but my Dr told me something that really hit me, she said even being slightly overweight can take 10-15 years off your life, Im not willing to do that so this is my only option right now:w00t:
  22. Hi there, I feel the same way you do. Sorry Im not help but youa re not alone with your feelings:frown:
  23. Hi Everyone, Im going to do my best to be more active here. It's great to have this support. I have my physch appointment next week, waht kind of questions should I expect? Im starting to get really nervous about the fact that Im really doing this, the problem is that my freinds and family think Im crazy because I only weigh 205 pnds, but for me, who has always been 125 it is downright depressing. Would anyone who has been banded already be willing to share what a typical day is like eating?
