  1. Yea youd think that with a 2 yr old a job and a teenager and husband my day would be filled and fly by but dang it , I just feel like time has slowed down to a snails pace. I have found things to do to keep myself occupied when I have time. I put in an extra walk or bought some vid games and I did buy some new books. I guess I'm just ready for this to be over...the pre op part. I want to see real weight loss and feel good about it! Thanks ladies, I'll get it together!
  2. @@JerzyTomato74 I'm not post op or anything but I just wanted to say great weightloss so far for only 7 weeks out ! Congrats I hope that is me too!
  3. It is so possible. I started my pre op diet a lil early and I thought I was going to just eat everything in site by the second day but I just realized that one it was a lot of head hunger and two I needed it into more fluids to keep myself full. If you are able to chew gum to that cause the sensation of chewing seems to help some people. Good luck and stay strong. Know you can do it!
  4. I'm in a slump this week that I can't seem to snap out of it. I think it seems like a month is so long away that I'm already tired of the shakes and boring food, I'm doing everything I can to just lose enough weight so I'm in the best shape I can get to for my surgery but man it is getting super hard. Is anyone else going through this?
  5. So I've been in a bit of a slump the past two days and it has been really hard for me to get on task. I took one day off from working out cause i was literally hurting from my toes to my head from the intense workouts and today I got up late so I didn't get to work out this morning and feel like me day is a waste. I def don't want this to get me down but when I have been able to walk three miles by this time of the day it is really a bummer!
  6. @@nairobi78 I have heard people say that the unflavored Protein powder is the easiest powder to handle since it is tasteless. I personally do not any of the powders and have found that I have to lean towards the premade one. Guess good thing about unflavored is if you are taking the time to make your own shakes you can add the powder to it and just taste the ingredients you added. Good luck and let us know how that goes.
  7. @@Angel720 Thanks I did a lot of research and come into contact with some people who went to him to. I also found someone who is going to be there the day after me and we have talked on the phone and will be surgery buddies!
  8. Everyday I ask myself this question and I come to the same answer. Yes I did everything I could. I went through all the right steps and didn't see the results I need to continue so this is the right step. You should question yourself time to time on things of this nature it is only nature and think about it is surgery its life changing not something to be taken so lightly. I know this is the right thing for me and if you have come to this point then I'm sure it is the right thing for you! Good luck in your journey and I wish you all the success you deserve!
  9. Wow you only weigh 172 and are going with gastric sleeve? If I can ask why not do the lap band?
  10. Ooo fingers crossed to all you gals and guys out there waiting for your date. As much as we all want our dates to be closer just consider this time to adopt some healthy eating habits and get right of some bad ones! Rooting for everyone and If anyone is interested I just spent the day sipping on some different broths and soups and found some great ones like mexican tortilla soup, chinese hot and sour and thai chicken. All have a nice kick and changes it up from the shakes. Those are all made from Swanson and if you go to traders joes I found that their Miso soup is great there! kinda pricey though!
  11. Well just got back from my appointment and who is down 12lbs? This chick right here and I feel awesome about that I know it is cause I'm basically eating nothing and don't get me wrong I'm STARVING but hey I just know that if I go into surgery with a lower body weight that it means I have less to lose and I think that is something great!
  12. Hey anyone here in the Colorado Springs area I'm getting my sleeve done on January 12th and need to have a lil local support! Congrats to whoever got theirs and to those like me who is getting theirs!
  13. Congrats on surgery and those drugs seem to be working too! Good luck on the beginning of your journey!
  14. I really hope that everyone stays in constant contact with each other. I'm trying to rally some people that have had sleeve surgery in my area together for a lil support group, Today I did not eat great but since I have already lost 11lbs in 9 days I'm not going to beat myself up about it. I can only control so much and everything in moderation is ok. Tech I'm not even having to do a pre op diet I'm choosing to do one and I'm pretty proud of myself!
  15. @@kcleveland I'm actually going to Mexicali, MX I have not found many people going there yet...are you? Otherwise if you are I'm staying at the hotel lucerna
  16. 5wks til surgery and I just cant wait. Completely focused right now on losing weight and I feel great about it. I just started walking again and make sure I get in at least 3 miles a day to stay on track. I went and got a first goal weight outfit and hoping it actually fits before I even go to get my surgery cause I need that type of motivation to stay on track. I'm super grateful for all of you on here and hope we all check in so we can cheer each other on!
  17. I did not see anyone post anything about fitbits scale which I also have and just love. I think it is easier since it links with my fitbit and I don't have to manually enter my weight when I do it and I too use myfitnesspal and those two link together so I can keep better overall track of my food intake and my workouts!
  18. I use Fitbit and I love it. Mine broke but I did just repurchase another and I'm glad I did. Its shows where my lazy points are and where I need to focus on. Since I haven't had my surgery I feel that it is going to be another tool to help me stay on track!
  19. @@mduffield Oh try propel or something with a lil dash of crystal light. It will help you kick start the Water and to be honest I gave up EVERYTHING else for two weeks except for water so that my body in a sense would crave it and believe it or not it really helped. So now I have a nightly cup of tea and maybe a morning coffee otherwise just water.! You'll do great no worries.
  20. I think the bad breath is from the shakes on my end and since I'm only eating every three to four hours I just swish my mouth with listerine. Yea I don't chew gum much so I just never have any on hand but I def know what you mean. I'm not hungry until I eat and then I drink a whole lot of water and it goes away I just think I mentally want the carbs.
  21. @@downsizingdiva Yea I'm a daily weigh er myself and i don't care but my scale is giving me the same number each time I do it in the morning might more by a point but not lbs. Great weight loss all the same and just focus on today and not worry about yesterday you can only control today not the pass right?
  22. Just seeing how everyone is doing and how the battle of waiting is going! I hope all of you are having an easier time and are able to fend off the rumbling tummies!
  23. @@Zzzombrie I did atkins for sometime and you know the only way it truly worked for me is if I did the old school atkins where it was literally two weeks of NO carbs to put my body in full ketosis and then I slowly added carbs in but it was difficult but I did manage to lose about 30lbs in about a month. I'm not sure if you want to try it but it might work for you then when you get into the shakes do the two atkins shakes for breakfast and lunch and then for dinner do a full non carb dinner. Only a suggestion. It is so hard to stick to it but so important. good luck to you!
  24. Yea I'm not pre op either but I was thinking the longer I put it off the harder it is just going to get for me. I drink 3 shakes a day one for breakfast and lunch and then one after dinner since between 7-12 is my weak spot and I just want to make sure I stay feeling full. Ugh the drooling btw I completely get. I have a husband and two kids and it is tough cooking them dinner and still not being able to eat it. Yesterday I made them homemade pierogies and homemade french fries and it KILLED me not to eat some. lol I'm weak.....but I get there, We all will and I can't wait for all of us to start our post op journey together!
