  1. So I have manage to stick to my diet for 4 days which is nothing right? lol Yeah well I did actually lose 4lbs already which I suppose could either be water weight or bathroom weight...yea tmi I know but hey I guess I do need to flush out the excess waste i'll still take it. I just hope I can keep it up cause to be honest the whole protein shake everyday thing is getting boring. I'm bored of the tastes but I manage to mix it up with dinner. Tons of veggies to keep my stomach moving otherwise they said I would get blocked up. and I have been choosing to do chicken and fish. I hope everyone is having an easy time with theirs.
  2. @@mkw10 are you waiting for your passport? I got mine within two weeks and instead of going to the post office if that's your local office I recommend going to the regional office to get it filled out. I did and it was much more efficient and that is why mine came back quick. Only suggestions if that is what if the hold up is!
  3. yikes...only came in one flavor! but I also purchased the 100 calorie snack size bottles too which are nice. I carry mine in my scrub pants and drink it when I just need it to tie me over but don't want the snack machine to tempt me!
  4. Yea it is the one I got at sams and from what I saw it only can in one flavor. It would be awesome if it came in variety
  5. Well I wish you all the luck you deserve and it is never to early to get information or start making appointments or even looking into which surgeon where. What kind of requirements they have ect! Keep us informed its always exciting to hear where someone gets to the pre op stage.
  6. Oh I'm having the same problem. My therapist says it is from my fear of thinking I'll never get to eat this way again. Maybe she is right. So I had a binge until I was completely sick and then got on track. OH I'm not saying do that. lol I also went through my house found one cabinet and but all the stuff I could eat in it and then found another and put all the stuff I can't eat in it put a lock on that bad boy and gave the key to my husband. Its hard but if you can't learn to eat healthy now are you ready for a life changing experience? You have to make that choice. Its a tough one but it is SOOO important to do. I'm on day two of my pre op and its going ok.
  7. My favorite sweater dress that I use to wear when I was a size 8! with really cute knee high socks and knee high boots!
  8. I JUST realized another thing I WON'T miss. After eating one meal my jeans won't be so tight I feel like I need to unbutton them. I HATE that!
  9. @@Chelsea E well I'm having mine in January and the thing about having it in another country that you just have to meet the medical requirements to have the surgery in which you are seeking. I called on oct 30th and got approved and scheduled within two weeks. I choose my own date and it is later only because I have to lose some weight and wanted to make sure I had taken the correct steps to find out all the info I needed. My surgery is Jan 12th and I haven't been more excited. I spoke to literally 10 patients who have gone to my doc not just on line but on the phone and through personal emails. Good luck!
  10. I def will let you know how it goes. I'll be on the post op part a lil more otherwise add me as a friend and we'll keep in touch.
  11. I think I just can't get comfortable anymore being heavy so I'm not sleeping right. I'm on my 4 shakes a day and a meal at night protein packed and filling. I'll do full liquids from the 28th and on til the 12
  12. I'm on metformin as well and my doctor recommended the sleeve. I would discuss it with your doctor further. Good luck
  13. I def will not miss being out of breath doing the simplest of task!
  14. My surgery is January 12th which can not get here soon enough. I'm actually opt. to go out of the country for two reason. One my insurance is requiring a 6 month doc followed plan which is fine in reality and I had not problem following but there is also a two yr waiting period to go weight loss at their determine hospital and then I have to be on the insurance for a year before I can even enter the bariatric program so now we are to three and a half yrs. So I spoke to my primary doctor told her about my choice and she has helped me tons. I have been following a diet plan she set up for the past 6 months and then on top of that I went to a nutritionist on my own. I also joined OA which has helped me understand why I eat the way I do and what I can do to help myself. It was not a completely easy choice for me but I got in touch with some AMAZING people who went to my soon to be doctor and i spoke on the phone with them got tons of info and think I made the best choice. plus the out of pocket cost is less even with my insurance here in the USA!
  15. @ Welcome to the journey of changing your life. I hope that everything goes well for you and I know the struggle of how hard it can be to start to lose weight around the holidays. This is a great site and believe me that I need the support cause I just broke up with food and friendzoned him because I'm dying to be have a better life and not feel like I'm trapped in the wrong body! If you need to talk I'm always around!d
  16. @@mkw10 Hey tried that other shake and it was pretty good. I'm so worried that I will not like the same things after surgery so I'm trying not to buy too much before I go for my surgery. So I'm going to just buy this case and buy enough of the flavors I like til I try them all after surgery so I can see what I like and then just go buy by bulk.
  17. @@Zzzombrie yea I did do a sleep study thinking I might have sleep apnea but I was fine and don't. I just have a sleeping issue.
  18. yea I'll let you know cause if they do taste good I bought a case of them at Sams club for $20 and that is unfortunately cheaper then the lean protein but I don't do the powder I do the premix.
  19. I'm in love with GNC lean Protein shakes and since I can still have the atkins advantage ones i do the mocha latte one in the morning a chocolate one at lunch then I'm trying premier protein at night after dinner since it is 30g of protein I'm hoping that I can starve off the hungry and attempt to go to bed early. although I seem to have insomnia and sleep and hour or two and wake up. so I get hungry!
  20. Pre op date has officially started. Good luck everyone who is starting this month.
  21. @@mkw10 Awesome to hear you are doing soooo well thats great to have an 8lbs loss already. I hope it goes as well for me as it has for you. I'm going to do 4 protein shakes a day and only lean meats at night. I start tomorrow or tech today and made myself enough chicken breast for the next couple of days so I don't have to even think about what I'm going to eat!
  22. @@JenniferO2188 Oh I know what you mean about the night eating. I actually will do great all day and then I'm alone and I guess bored and just eat...UGH so annoying wish I could just STOP!!
  23. Excited to see so many January Sleevers. Veronica here Colorado Springs, CO surgery day is january 12th. Pre op diet tech starts on the 16th of Dec and liquid only diet starts on 29th of Dec. Gave up soda and smoking and Need to work on the eating while bored problem!
  24. I have to do a 30 day pre op diet but only two weeks have to contain liquids only. So the 16th I will be on 4 shakes a day and no carbs expect what the shakes contain which is practically nothing. Until then I thought I would slowly cut out the carbs now and not have any flour or products that have any unnatural sugar added. It is a small step but they are my weaknesses and it is better for me to deal with them now instead of when I really need to focus on eating right for my diet. it is getting real close and CAN'T WAIT! Grateful for each and everyone of you here!
  25. So the reason people recommend no caffeine is because it is a stimulant and can cause dehydration and the stimulant portion can cause hunger. My doctor said wait 2 weeks so see if your water intake is good and if so then slowly add some caffeine products in moderation. I'm just going to go with that!
