I am in the early stages Pre op, but I love thinking about this because I find it really motivating! To start I would settle for bending over without having my chest in my throat, and crossing my legs..... I have a very physically demanding job and I would love to just not have every joint in my body ache at the end of the day... so many other things... I honestly want to make a list and put it on my mirror to remind myself of the ultimate goal. Being so new to the process I feel like its easy to give in and say it will never happen, but I can make it happen if I truly put my intention there! anyway, hope you all have a good day!

I think this whole process is crazy hard on the best of relationships, so if the core isn't strong going in, then there are sure to be mountains that come up. Some people feel that as they start to find themselves they realize that they have 'settled' for way too long and refuse to do so any longer. It's important that you do what you need to do in order to be happy. On that note I agree with your desire to not be that person. I would be very careful in revisiting that relationship when you are feeling so vulnerable and unsure. You admitted that he is married and considering that, I don't recommend putting yourself into a situation that begins with 'behind the scenes', why take a step backwards. As a female in a relationship, put yourself in his wife's shoes. How would you feel if you had a husband and he was going for coffee with someone he wished he had married all those years ago??? Not exactly an empowering life choice

I understand the spouse thing. My husband though married 20 yrs and very supportive in my recovery (surgery 1/19) cannot possibly comprehend the struggles with weight loss and keeping it off. This is why I chose my mom.
My experience was/is good overall. I had dr Hoffman and is say my biggest complaint is that he's a fast talker. Lol
If you need a support person let me know and I can maybe help you and go with you to the info session. Im not sure how (yet) but I think we can private message on this forum. Please don't let this discourage you from checking out buffalo general or with your journey.

I guess that is the difference every Doctor and Hospital runs differently. My husband has
been the one that has gone to my appointments with me. I also choose to only share the
news of my surgery with a very few people. I agree with you , nice to have someone thinking
of questions I didn’t think of.

I did most of my research online. I have spent months reading up on the different surgeries and started this wanting one surgery and changing my mind after more research. And don’t set your heart on one because a friend was going for one but the Doctor said she should get a different one for her circumstance. Good luck take notes so you can refer to what they tell you.

Hello Buffalo Peeps! Just wondering how many of you went to more than one info session to decide which practice/Dr to use. I think BGH is having an info session tomorrow and I am thinking of checking it out. I haven't been to any yet. Any comments or advice from those that have gone to any info session in WNY are welcome. Thanks!!!

I am interested in become a group leader. I think I would be a good leader as I am 13 months post op have been very successful with my sleeve and have encouraged 3 of my co workers to have it done and "walked" them through the process. I am available days & evenings as I work overnights.

I wouldn't be on this site if I didn't have issues with over eating, however I feel like even when I don't overeat I get gassy and bloated and find I am more comfortable on an empty stomach, but then if I wait too long I just feel sick... I just wanted to see if anyone had a similar experience and if bc the sleeve is so much smaller the same occurs even with an appropriate/recommended amount of food... not sure if its food choices, lack of acid, too much acid etc.... I think that's more where I was going with this question. Do dr's address other digestive issues aside from the restricton. Do you have enough stomach acid to digest the food you do eat with your reduced stomach etc... These are the questions I have as a pre op who hasn't attended any meetings etc... I am sure it has been addressed somewhere, but I don't recall where.
